[Q] Bad working task manager in 6.5 - Windows Mobile

Hi,
another problem from me I'm cooking 6.5 version (not 6.5.x) and every task manager I include is making strange bug.
If I tap on its small icon (top-right) instead of showing me some memory info the htc notifications comes up Sometimes if I close the "noti" I can see the taskmgr's info, but it is not what we used to
SYS build is 21896, manila 2012. Tested on X2 task manager, htc task manager 2.1 and some older htc task manager
Any advice? Thanks

I didnt use those task managers but maybe is due to the notifications and or taskmanager versions

I used
Notification_Enhancement_2_0_1919_3225
Notification_Enhancement_3_5_20113824_00
Notification_Enhancement_TEST_3_5_19222911_00
everytime same issue but If I didn't include HTC noti everything was working fine. Are htc notifications dependent on any other package?

Need help with new wm6.5 rom and S2U2

Hi there,
I just upgraded to a wm6.5 rom with s2u2 preinstalled, so I tried it and am pretty happy not having to search for the unlock button anymore.
I installed the tPRO2 skin and set the same wallpaper as in tf3d, so it looks a bit like part of the system.
I've still got two problems:
I'm used to do multitasking, for example when browsing with Opera I sometimes press the home key and start word mobile or such to look up passwords etc. Usually, I'd be able to switch back to the running opera with the tf3d task list, but on this rom, leaving an application immediately kills it. I made sure it's not just the tf3d task list by looking up the running programs with the wm task manager. When s2u2 kicks in, the running applications are left alone. Does anyone have an idea what causes the programs to be killed?
Second, I'd like s2u2 to only show the unlock bar instead of the tf3d slider. This way, it would look much more like a part of the system - is this possible?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Edit: the rom is NmLs v1.5.1, i just found out this is tf3d2 beta. haven't seen any changes so far, but the rom thread says so.

HTC sense too high!?!

After i removed Long press application, suddenly the whole HTC sense app is 0,5cm higher then it was. That means i can see 0,5cm of the background picture above Phone and Menu soft keys (under Home, People, SMS, EMail,...) bar instead of pure black. The top of the HTC sense is 0,5cm too high so the top of the menu titles is missing.
Reset doesn't help, align screen doesn't help, installing Longpress app doesn't help,...help!
I would check today plugins .. Go to all settings/today.
I did check Today. Nothing new there. I tried do reselect HTC sense, background picture..nothing helps.
this sounds promising! that's what everyone cooking with the wm6.5.x roms wants to do easily, and you've done it by accident.
ok seriously, can you go through exactly what you did in detail?
what application? what process did you use? do you have anything else installed?
I have these extra apps installed:
Ranster LEO LED notification FIX
Ranster LEO screen sensivity decrease
Ranster LEO Add tasmgr and games
Ranster LEO 11n mode
smaberg 1% battery
Ghisler Total commander
Safeinboxextender
Showcasesuite e-natives
Hma4 HTC END Key
I tried to uninstall End key app and then i noticed, that Duttys task manager started to work (it didn't before). I also noticed that start screen moved up by 0,5cm. I uninstalled duttys taskmanager too later.
Showcasesuite e-natives thi is the problem...
Yes the problem is Showcase! Uninstall it and all will be fine ;-)
Me too I'm waiting for a new release of showcase, because i like this taskmanager. For now I use the standard WM taskmanager.
Bye
Erik
am still using showcase, just ensure that when your Leo boots up, showcase doesn't.
delete the showcase link in \windows\startup, then reboot.
in order to use showcase, just assign it to a button (like via aebutton plus). and voila. Do note that the first time, showcase does take a bit of time to boot. After this its ok.

good god theres do many egod on here lately!
look at that list and the amount of people that put their name to other peoples discoveries and tweaks..
its getting way out of hand
Make sure you have shocase 1.0.1b installed and not 1.1.0. The 1.1.0 is for wm 6.5.X versions! I have showcase 1.0.1b and i have no problem. I installed 1.1.0 and i had the same problem!

Cannot stop running applications!

Hello all!
Today I've upgraded to the latest official ROM, that is: 2.53.405.5(76952) WWE with Manilla 2.5.20113030.0. The main problem is that after I stop an application by tapping X it continues to run in the background. The task manager icon that was in the upper right corner in Manilla 2.1 is no longer there, and Task manager found under Start Menu does not have the settings that allows you to end programs by tapping X. So the only option is to check now end then for open applications in Task Manager and end them from here?
Can someone please help? It feels like returning to WM5!
Thanks!

How to enable "Close Programs on X" via registry

Hello everyone,
can someone tell me that by clicking "X" in an app my HD2 will finally close programs and will not keep them running in the background...!?
In my ROM (2013/6.5.3) there is no feature in the settings area as in former times to enable or disable it. Is there any registry hack?
Thx in advance.
Nobody any clue??
Install Dutty's task manager and it will add that option to your control panel.
Another option is WKTask. It hasn't been updated for a long time and looks like the author has lost interest, but it works fine with 6.5 and even 6.5.3. Just disable the skin (which draws its own OK or X button on the task bar) - you will not loose any functionality.
Isn't there any registry solution?
Dutty's Task Manager didn't as it is not compatible with 6.5.x. The setting was added but didn't affect anything...
Try the TouchX task manager. Both Dutty's or that have always worked for me, so you may still have the 6.5.5 compatibility issue, but I've never heard of that before.
For windows mobile 6.5.x try this forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=618300" its works great
In fact I do not want a task manager. I just want to close programs and not minimize them. There must some kind of registry hack for that...

No! There is none. You need a programm that runs in background/as a process which monitors the x-button and closes programms. Its just like that.
BTW. WKTask and Opera 10 dont work together. Try installing WKTask and got to landscape in Opera10. The device will crash. Can anybody please confirm this as i still love WKTask (Im on RTTs RTMi 5 ROM with 6.5.3 and Sense 2013) --> Thanks guys
I want something like this too. I came from an iPhone, so excuse my noobness but when you hit the HOME key it closes a program out, not run in the background. I want to be able to hit 'X' at the top and it closes the program out, not run in the background. I just cant believe nobody has made a run around, a .cab or reg edit for this. I hate having a slow HD2 because the proccess keep piling up.

I never said there is no solution. Theres just no way via the registry. You will need one of the millions of taskmanagers out there. I recommend Ameba (close via tapping x, minimize via holding x) in combination with ArkSwitch (complete Taskmanager, can be opened via tapping left part of the taskbar or long press sendkey). The best and most stable solution in my opinion.
Greets
Forget the iphone they invent now the multitasking....
Get one task manager and a ram cleaner(optional) and go with multitasking!!!!
You will get used of it
Take a look at Wisbar: great program, great developer and a excelant support
Hi,
i have got a contrary problem.
My running programs do not stay in the Backround.
Mostly, if i push the home or back-key, my HD2 closes the actual program. The program is in backround for a short time and then it closes.
I can see it, i have WKTask running. It is the same, if i have uninstalled WKTask, so this taskmanager is not the cause.
I have this problem mostly, not always but i canĀ“t see the cause.
What is wrong with my HD2?

Bottom Right Task Manager?

A while back I flashed a ROM that had a nifty task manager on the bottom right hand side of the screen beside all the normal COM5 style menu buttons. I really liked this feature. I had to change the background color of the task manager, but otherwise it was very useful and perfectly complimented windows mobile operations.
Eventually I had to move on from the ROM (mainly because I am a flash junkie, and couldn't go for more than 2 weeks without trying something new). However, I don't see any other ROMs with that very nifty feature and I was wondering why not? I was also wondering if anyone knew what the task manager was called, and whether or not it can be installed properly after flashing other 23563 ROMs?
The ROM with the task manager is:
Flashmore_23563_2.11-Base_WWE_V6.1b
Finally, to all the chefs out there: This seemed like a fantastic task manager, perhaps you guys could give it a look.
Thanks.
