fpsece help. - HD2 General

Hey guys i am sorry if this has been asked a million times before but i am really struggling to get this thing working. I dont know how to get the control pad working. Is there an easy to follow guide to get it set up? Also do you need the paid version to use multi touch?
I have searched forum after forum and am none the wiser.
Thanks in advance.

yes, you have to donate for multitouch version, its worth it in my opinion.
for guides and tip see here

Website for speeding up the Tytn

Hi guys,
I once found a website (maybe even on XDA-DEVELOPERS) with a bunch of tip'n'tricks on how to speed up tytn. Things like disabling the clicking sounds and the phone-dialing sounds, NOT disbleing the commMNGR and the battery meter on the bottom tray (which seems to slow the TYTN down).
I cant find the site now. Does any one know of it?
As a member, you should know how to use the "Search" function. I saw this thread somewhere in this forum. Please spend sometime searching the forum before you ask.
I did and I cant find it
Forums are for helping each other out right? Or criticizing one another? i forget...
Is this the site you are referring to? (make sure to scroll down past the first big post about benchmarks)

I came across that one yesterday and just re-hunted it down for ya. The disabling the alarm sounds really did "brutally" increase my phones speed. Hope thats the one you were lookin for. If not, good luck searchin. maybe Ill give it another go when I get home from work.
THANKS!!! Thats the one
You gotta love arrogance on the internet. I'm just great full for the site as a whole. Its been beyond helpful. So thank you everyone from he junior members all the way to the moderators.

You can use Custom ROMS. Yes, there are risk of using them but if you read the directions properly and follow it closely nothing bad will happen. I had my TMO Wing for about 2 months now and I just recently flashed it. I didnt had any problems doing so. Then again I also spent at least 2-3 days reading about HARDSpl and all that to make sure I dont mess anything up. It's really worth it tho. Even if you mess up you can always flash back to the original TMO RUU. Custom ROMs will make ur Wing run faster and smoother than the Stock ones. After carefully studying and reading directions I spent probably 1 hour flashing my device. It's very easy to do as long as you read and follow the directions.

I say keep it stock. you don't want to incur envy and jealousy among other people by having operating systems that... operate, smoothly nonetheless. plus these kind of things lead to all kinds of addiction, including but not limited to: understanding of component functions of the phone, ability to help others(including beginners), knowledge of trouble shooting processes should problems occur, just anything you could imagine basically. i have even seen in one forum where they're trying to develop a death laser to shoot out of the camera... go figure.
like i said, keep it stock and that way there's no chance of it being 'truly' functional.

Best advice I can offer you is just to get used to your device. Get the feel of it and play with it. Once you have done this, then read the wiki so you understand more.
If after all of this you feel you want to change anything, do a search for it first, read up on it and then try it out.
There are plenty of apps/software/games/themes available for you to install on your HD. Apps/software & games which work on the HD can also be found in the wiki as well as in the software forum.
You can also change roms (operating system), but you will need to do some research on this first. Guide to flashing roms can be found here.
The most important thing of all is to research & read before trying anything. If your unsure of anything on any particular topic, ask your question within that relevant thread

Theming Resources? Themers' Input Please

Hey all,
Little late in the game, but I want to start doing my own theming. I searched around many places and found several really good guides on creating and dev'ing themes:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3175518
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4438978
seem to be a couple of the really comprehensive ones.
Got them from the OP in one of our own Hero Themes and Apps sticky post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=588351 which also has some great stuff in it.
My question is....both of those I linked above seem like older posts. Is there anything more current, and perhaps specifically for our Hero, that I should use or be aware of? Or are these still good guides that will work well even now?
Feel free to flame/bash me if I've missed anything obvious out there. Thanks for your input.

Check out my everything android thread in dev section. It has all the tools ull need plus links on how to use them

adb?

So I notice that the CommRom 2.0 thread highly recommends using adb to generate logcats. So, uh, how do I get adb?

Or you could have actually done a minimal amount of effort and used the search function here at XDA, searched for "ADB", and found this thread:

Actually I did do a search, I also paid attention to the links that pop up when I created this thread, that thread didn't turn up. I also PM'd someone who has understandably not gotten back to me yet (it hasn't been that long). Additionally I did a search on the market, it was also unhelpful. So, after all that I posted a simple question in the Q&A forum.
Thanks for the links, let us know how therapy goes for you.

Therapy is going great for me. They tell me in a couple of weeks they may actually remove the restraints. A couple of points:
1) Your thread is in the General area, so either you posted in the forum you didn't intend to or it got moved by a mod. Highly unlikely as I've never seen a thread get moved OUT of Q & A
2) If you had started your OP with "Hey guys need a little help. I searched the forums but couldn't find an answer (or couldn't find what I was looking for). How do I (or where do I).......? That lets everyone know you did put the effort forth to try and find an answer on your own. Everyone will be much more pleasant and eager to help you.
Just a few tips there because I'm all about helping out, educating, and providing information. If you need any help with ADB, I'm not as proficient with it as others but I'm getting better. That first link is a great help for beginners to adb and even includes screenshot visual aids.
The Android SDK includes ADB and the necessary drivers for your phone.
Once you get it installed, typing ADB will give you a list of commands you can use with it. Just remember to turn on USB Debugging on your phone for it to connect.
