I am using DamageControl 2.07.2 and someone said that if it doesn't say Sprint on the lockscreen and notifications I should update my PRL. Problem is, I have no idea how. Here is all my phone information.
ROM: DamageControl 2.07.2
Recovery: ClockworkMod Recovery
PRL: 60663
PRI: 2.11_002

If you are like me and you have been using the 2.1's for a month or 2 now and havnt gone back to 1.5, think twice.
nandroid backup, flash fresh 1.1 and go to settings and update prl and profile. sprint has updated the prl twice i believe since toast release 1.8.2 2.0. i did it today and wow signal is incredible here in my town and all the way up I 65. before i barely had 2 bars or about 130 dbm's. anyways if your PRL is before 60662 you should go back and update.
and unless someone wants to create an update.zip for prl flash i cant. sprint said they cant give me/push the prl because it is not supported on my firmware..? anyways hope this helps everyone else.
what about the pri
how would this affect me if i flashed the new radio?
should i still update?
can u reflash back to a 2.1 after doing the updat and keep the update intact
So a nandroid restore won't overwrite the updated PRL, right?

Right. The PRL will remain intact while flashing .ZIPs and restoring Nandroids.
It will NOT effect your Radio update.

Thanks! Nanroiding right now.
PRL 60660 here with -92dBm signal
Wait, can you flash a 1.1 ROM over the new 2.x Radio?

You mean 1.5? I have done in a few times. ROMs do not effect the Radio.
So the lateset PRL is stilll 60660?

Right, I should have said a 1.5 ROM, such as Fresh 1.1. Sorry for the confusion.

The latest is 60662.
Cool, it worked. Wiped, Flashed Fresh 1.1, booted, updated PRL to 60662, wiped, flashed DCv1, booted and signal strength is the same. Oh well!
I had no complaints about signal here at work. At home, I am often -100dBm so hopefully 60662 improves that.
If I understand correctly, your PRL has nothing to do with your Sprint network signal.
I was just getting over my ROM flashing addiction. Now you just gave me a reason to Flash another rom.. THANKS! I just did this and updated my PRL successfully

This should be correct.
PRL is Preferred Roaming List, Sprint releases them to correct areas that have very low signal, telling it to roam on Verizon's network, and vice versa(where it's roaming and it now has Sprint signal).
As far as I know, of course.
Could a 60662 PRL update.zip be created? I can make them, I just need the file/path.
Prl is only roaming but updating profile will help in your area
Im glad this helped and with an update.zip the path is to /radio so i wouldnt mess with it
here is a zip i found that has the prl.
Im not sure if it works because i haven't had time to use it yet.
This explains PRL.
Hey gang, I've been reading through the sticky on the PRI issue. I was running Damageless v2 for a bit, now trying out the latest 2.1 Eris-based Fresh ROM. The PRI version shows 2.11_002. My question is this... what problems are people having with these Eris based PRI's? My phone seems to be just fine, or am I missing something that should be working better? I read mention of SprintTV not working in the thread, but I don't use that app (and it's not even on Fresh). What do I gain by fixing the PRI? Thanks guys.
Dave
When the official Sprint update comes and you get a new ROM off of that, you will have problems with it not identifying the network correctly.
You are better of doing it. I would say that you NEED to. It should be essential.
Gotcha
Thanks for the reply to clear that up. Definitely don't want the phone to break on the official updated ROM.
I intentionall broke my PRI to keep MNS working. Resetting put me back to 170, which doesn't work with it. I've noticed no problems using the 2.11_002 PRI.
Not the same thing but a similar question. My PRI is currently 1.68_003, should I attempt to get my PRI updated to 2.10_003 & would I accomplish this via the way Avalaunch directed here?

As I understand, there's only one person who has the 2.10_003 PRI.
How do you update the PRI to reflect the current version vs. Flipz_01.

From the FAQ if you haven't found the answer yet. There is a MSL thread in the general section now with a easy and legal way to get it.

from what I was told flipz is just the 170 prl in disguise. If you want the 2 something prl you have to flash damge's beta 5 rom and it will change it to that. Then nandroid back to your old rom you were using. I did that recently and it worked. I changed it from the 170 to the 2 something so I can tether.

But doing this method might take some things out of the market and not all sprint apps with work. Tv and navigation do work though.
If you want sprints newest PRI then you have to flash the newest RUU. But you will lose root.
What is the number for the Sprint RUU PRI?

I did this yesterday and while it removes flipz custom pri, it does not upgrade the pri to the current one. I have the 1.70 pri and im not about to run the RUU just to upgrade it.

make a nandroid back up and go back to a 1.5 rom run pri update and then nandroid back to the 2.1 rom. (might be able to pri update from 2.1 I haven't tried it)
I want to revert my radio back to the one that came with 1.56 and 1.56 stock because I need to send phone in for repairs. where can I get the rom and the original radio.

Yea, I would like this to.
here you go... geekfor.me... great site
Just flash the radio and then restore from your first nandroid. Or if you want you can do this, but flash the radio first

Why would you flash the ORIGINAL build's baseband on the latest build ???? Doesn't common sense tell you it won't work ????
To fix your issue, you need to flash either the DJ05 or the DL09 radio, which can be located under the android development section of this forum.
I think he meant that he's never flashed any radio newer than DH12, not that he downgraded the baseband. If you just flash the DL09 radio, you should be fine.

Yeah if you want the latest flash dl09 not dl05
if you wanna know what the difference between the two then google it lol but yeah

This should be all that you need. If it still doesn't work, try flashing the full DL09 package, then installing your DL30 rom/kernel.
FYI for those having Text\SMS issues like sending texts and them showing up blank on the receiving end and not receiving texts, I installed DL09 (was on DI Radio) and it fixed them right up! My wife is happy she can use her Fascinate again she was stuck on her old droid all day and wasn't happy
Thanks for the help guys!!
Flash the DL09 radio using odin and you'll be in business. GPS is darn near spot on too!

Woops that came out wrong. I meant flash the latest build ON TOP of the original baseband.
