Touch HD build in screen/key lock - Touch HD General

HI,
I'm very sorry for that lame question but could anyone explain to me how to get to blackstone build in keylock/screenlock settings ? please..
I looked in user manual and I've done my research but looks like I can't find anything.
regards,

looks like no one is sure about it or there is no such a options.,
For those who use s2u2 and are annoyed about double screen lock when you take the pen out of the hd and system lock turns on, try to instead of putting back stylus in when screen is on ,turn it off and then put stylus back, turn screen on and there you go.. untill you take stylus out again there will be no double lock. You just have to remember to put it back when the screen is off and it will work great.
hope that helps.

Phone Screenlock as IPhone

Hi,
I have a Hermes, Niki phones
I miss a function found in IPhone "a sensor to lock the screen when you make an aproximity to the ear"
When you make a Phone call or Get incoming call and you move the phone near your ear, the Iphone screen get's dark so there is not unwanted "touch" of icons of the phone, Iphone has a proximity sensor check..
Right now I'm using an application "Phone Screen Lock From Palmaysoft" it works ok, but it's lock the screen just when the partner get's the call.. it's ok, but sometime there is enought time for unwanted touch with the "face" to an icon on the screen
Is there some other way to emulate a Iphone sensor (maybe with the front camera) or get the screen lock just after pushing the "green " button of the phone?
Any Idea??
Thanks!
You can get the screenlock by tapping the power button during a call.
...or using S2U2.

Thanks for that helpful post.
OP, I don't think you'll have any other option. S2U2 has the ability to automatically turns off the screen when the phone call connects, which seems to be exactly the same function as the "Phone Screen Lock From Palmaysoft" mentioned.
I once had an application on my Herald back in the WM5 days. Don't know the name but as soon as i answer the call, the screen turns off.
I believe it was something with Black Call or something.. don't know.
When im back @ home i'll search through my PC to see if i still got it.
I'll let you know!

I suffered with the same problem on my Touch. S2U2 is the best solution. It works perfectly in solving this problem, when you choose the option to black the screen when a call connects. Give it a try - you will love it.

Yep...I totally agree.
A_C made an excelent (killer) program.
proximity sensor
I have s2u2. but my issue is that when another call or text comes thru the phone stays lit. therefore, i hit buttons with my face/earrings.
is there a way i can get around that part of the s2u2.
or is there some sort of program that could be similar to the proximity sensor on the iphone.
of all things in comparison...this is what i like best about the iphone.
thanks
...accidental hanguppper......
search for "lock csdevctrl" - this do the job almost perfectly for me.
and the devel is really brilliant and is ready to make wanted changes really fast.
cu camel
I use PalmarySoft's Phonescreenlock program and I love it... Does exactly what your asking for..

[TUT]How to Blank the Screen During a Call (Tap the screen with two fingers!)

Hey everyone,
I really hope I'm not the only one out of the loop about this (and I doubt I am cause I spend way too much time on xda...lol). I use my HD2 with a headset quite alot (almost always actually), so the proximity sensor is not of great use. Since when I'm on my headset (wired), and have the phone facing up, the screen is turned on, and I have to put something on the proximity sensor to cover it up in order to turn the screen off and stop draining the battery.
But here's the crazy part I found out today....and I can't believe it took this long:
Do a two finger (multitouch) on the call status screen (the regular screen while on a call) and it will TURN THE SCREEN OFF!
The screen will turn back on if you move the phone (but it turns it on via the proximity sensor and not the gsensor....at least that's my thinking at the moment). I'd play around with this more, but I have mad finals coming so I just wanted to post this for everyone.
So...go out and give it a try!
PS. I have the USTmo version (just in case it has a different dialer/call status then Euro version, but I'm guessing this will work on both).
OMG. this TOTALLY WORKs! I just called my voicemail and tested it out! IT works like a charm! THANKS SO MUCH.
are there any more little tricks like this out there? WOW I want to know more about y device!
That is an excellent discovery...thanks!
Great find!!!
Doesn't work on my ROM.
genius, good find
It works
Just tested it and it works
Great find man!! Thanks
I can't believe my eyes it works! thanx
can ppl pls post which rom theyre using, so we can have a overview where this great find works. Thank you!
I'm using the 1.66 WWE ROM in the UK and it's not working.
i can't believe it, it works on stock tmo rom
works on energy. thanks!
Can someone post a video how to do this, please? I am using 1.72 rom with O2 and have no idea how to do that.
Cheers
at my 1.72 ROM it does NOT work.
tapped with 2 fingers on the screen while calling the Voicemail but nothing happens.
hopefully someone will fix this .. very annoying that the standby and the disconnect function is at the same button
looks like its a v2 rom feature.
it actually works!
wow....great find! i always had to put my finger over the light sensor. not anymore
Also works on my T-Mo GREAT find...Tj
Sweeeeeet!
Was excited but gonna stick with my current method
I tried this with high hopes but the fact that it turns right back on if you move the phone is no good for me while on the go, but is great for when my phone is just sitting on top of my desk or a table.
What I have been doing, and what others might want to try, takes a few steps but does work. I installed a little app called DisplayOff which turns off the display with one tap and will stay off until any hardware button is pressed once. I used Resco Explorer to create a shortcut for the app which is just an exe that doesn't need to be installed, just placed somewhere on your device and clicked on to activate. So when I'm in a call on bluetooth as I almost always am, I have to tap the home key so that I can then tap the DisplayOff icon which is a Sense Quick Link.
After thinking about this more, I just realized that using AE Button Plus, I could map DisplayOff to activate with say 3 taps of a hardware button instead of my current method..........
I know this since the day tmobile usa hd2 came out, nothing special about this as method, you can also blank the screen by placing your finger or object on top of the sensor next left to the speaker.

Problems with Screen Backlight

The back-light on my Desire HD screen randomly goes out, the screen is still on and if you look hard enough you can still see the image on the screen. If I put a little pressure on the screen, usually at the bottom by the HTC logo blow the menu button. it comes back on but often goes right back out if if I don't maintain the pressure.
Anyone know how to fix this? I'm guessing that it's just a little bit of soldering that's loose. I really don't want to get rid of this phone so any help would be great appreciated.
not that terrible
if you use your phone for a longer time you now without looking on it where the hardware keys are located so it is not that bad
just use your phone

What? I'm sorry but that makes no sense (no pin intended). How am I supposed to use the phone when you can't even see the screen?
I only get that when using my phone as a GPS with Google maps. It's frustrating. It also doesn't happen everytime, but it did yesterday.
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk 2
Yeah it really sucks. I just tried a hard shell case hoping that would put enough pressure on the phone to stop this issue but it didn't work. I guess I've reached on the end of the line with my Desire HD. Sucks 'cause I really was looking forward to running ICS on it.
using google maps its normal that screen dims after some time and then screen turns off & auto locks ........
with no display
to turn on display have to use power button .
how ever not checked it in navigation mode ........
Anybody know of any Desire HD "tear down" guides online? Something to help guide in the taking about of the phone. I want to look inside and see if I can't find the loose connection and fix it.
Edit to add:
Found a pretty decent one on youtube

[Q] Alternative ways to turn screen on/off

Hi all,
I'm wondering if there's any alternative ways to put the Nexus 7 (or any Android device I guess) to sleep/wake it up. I'm thinking something along the lines of an app that forces the touch screen to stay active but turns the display off so you can use touch input to activate wake/sleep.
Might be a bit of a stupid question. The reason I ask is because my N7 is mounted in my car and the power button isn't easily accessible.
Cheers for any tips..

Not sure if this helps but I have a case that I bought for my N7 and when I open it and close it the screen turns on and off.
Here it is http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ASIN=B008D2POAS&linkCode=as2&tag=newyormus-20

Thanks for that but nah, it's mounted in my car dash so a case won't fit..
But that give me an idea.. does sliding a magnet across a specific point on the screen turn it on/off? That's the idea with the smart cases right?

Yes,
The magnet is somewhere to the bottom left of the device (i would say to about a quarter from bottom up and on the black contour) . If you can add an sliding magnet (make sure is weak) then you can lock/unlock screen.
Nfc tags dude i wonder if they would work

I know some kernels can enable touch wake. I imagine it can incorporated soon. On my Galaxy Nexus, there's an app I downloaded that allowed a specific screen swipe to wake the screen.

Hey man. I used to have an awesome app on my very first Android tab years ago. It would turn the screen completely black (via home screen or notification icon) without actually putting it to sleep. Because it wasn't really asleep, a double tab would turn the screen back on. I CANNOT FIND IT FOR THE LIFE OF ME! Anyway, after reading your question, I searched for an hour, because I could use something like this for my setup in my car.
So, I found something that turns the screen both on and off, and actually works on my N7. Search for Proximity Screen Off. I installed the free lite version, and it works. I found out the screen won't turn on though, unless you disable your lock screen. Play with the settings to your liking.
Oh, and since we don't have prox sensors, you can use your ambient light sensor. Good luck, lmk if it works for ya.

It's called PGM Nexus. I almost don't want to give up my Galaxy Nexus (but I sadly still plan to) just because of this one app alone...it is so godawful nice to be able to swipe, or simply double tap the screen to fire up the screen. Unfortunately this app apparently requires some deep voodoo to work as its kernel related, and applies strictly to the Galaxy Nexus. I know a bunch of people have already started bugging the developer to make a version for the Nexus 7, I'd suggest piling on. :fingers-crossed:
It's apps like these that make you realize how superior the Nexus devices are at getting really good customized software over other devices.
I do wish there were some other options for the Nexus 7, like using the front camera as a proximity sensor of sorts to detect a handwave, or simply shaking the tablet.

Hello. I'm not sure if it helps you, but for turning off screen I use Nova Launcer (alternatively you could use Apex Launcher - as far as I remember, it has gestures in its free version) with Screen Off app by Katecca. I've set Nova Launcher to react to swiping up screen by executing Screen Off app. So I have to turn on screen by pressing button, but to turn off I just swipe up screen.
Best regards,
Artur
