Installed (and uninstalled) .net framework 3.5 - phone very unresponsie now - HD2 General

I was running dutty's rom on my hd2 and everything was GREAT, almost 3 days battery life, amazingly responsive, no issues whatsoever... until I installed this pos framework :\
The phone immediatly had lag issues, it was hardly using any cpu (6-7%) but everything was very clearly slow... as if somebody turned the frame rate down to 2 fps.
So, I uninstalled it but the phone is still slow... any ideas what this could be due to? For example, when I hit the on/off button and get to the slider screen, sometimes it takes 2-3 seconds before it appears... restarting doesn't fix it.
Is there a way to check which files have been modified in the system?

Unless you've downloaded a dodgy version of .Net where the cab file has had "extras" added to it by some 3rd party, I can pretty much guarantee that the problem is nothing to do with .Net. .Net is an application framework and neither the OS nor Sense use it - just applications. And if you've not installed any applications since you installed .Net, then you don't have any that are using it (or they wouldn't have worked in the first place!)
Are you sure you haven't installed anything else recently? If you're 100% sure about this then I'd suggest a hard reset may be the only solution, since it sounds like there's something there that shouldn't be.

It was installed alongside another app in the 'you need to install mobile .net framework 3.5 for this program to work' so maybe ;\ It is really odd however that the cpu isn't being used, its just like the gui update speed went to ****.

Gonna try a hard reset and see if that fixes it.. if not its a reflash Sucks that I can't find out why.
edit: hard reset worked ;\ must have been a file or setting somewhere that got overwritten... meh.

Shame it needed that to fix it, but at least it's fixed. If you want to be sure and get a safe .Net 3.5 download (which you will need for some apps), check the 1st post in the CHTEditor (in my signature). It's linked in there.

Phone Dialer issues. Will not run unless Soft Reset.

Anyone having an issue with their default phone dialer. Sometimes it just wont run so I can make a call. Also when I close it down from running it will freeze.
After I do a soft reset it works find for a while, then it locks again.

maybe try a new ROM, i know it seems like a big deal for such a small problem.. but you will get new, better features. it may also be a third party app that is messing around with it. i suggest trying the new rom (WM6 Pro 3.0 by ANTC is pretty good) and avoid installing and third party apps you don't need. also, make you sure hard reset after reflashing. good luck

Thanks, Sounds like alot of trouble.
Why wont my signature show up????
There it is... lol
Instead of reflashing, just do a hard reset; that will clear out all applications you installed and revert your phone back to a "just installed" state. Make sure to back up any important data before initiating the hard reset.
I might try that. Will that erase all my phone numbers on the sim?
Thanks
ah at last! someone has same problem!.
its unclear, why its happening, but ie. if you press clock, of just do something to show element of gui(bubble, notification, etc, you will be able to launch phonepad normally(75%).
i am not sure, if it is ROM, custom dialpads, or installed software related...but may be dependant of today plugins(which are losing "focus"-i mean its selection blocks phonepad...
it is not pernament block, what i am talking about, launching any program, and closing it makes phonepad launchable again(xx%)..
are you using custom dialpad?
i've got that issue since mUn 4.0.0.0 roms started to appear, but it may be custom dialpad, which i started to use shortly after 4.0.0.0 variations tests.
also, it seems to be related to any flushes, that may close phone process...then it just cant be rerun( have no better words..).
telling to HR is ridiculous...
If anyone reads this and you are not having any issues please post your specs. (rom, os and others).
I have the default blue dialpad on it now and changed back from the Pauly's Vista Eten dialer and both are giving me the issues. Even a few minutes ago if happened. I am still with my 30 days of purchase with Cingular. I dont know if I should keep it or send it back.
I like all my other features. Hate that is locks and I have to softreset.
Do you think an upgrade will work?
i think you should just upgrade to WM6, i don't think you will have an issue.. since you have a g4 u will need to use the shelltool.. follow the directions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293480. you will need to find a rom, and i'm still leaning towards the newest WM6 by ANTC, as it is vanilla and has no extra software attached to it.. go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309078 for that. also, a hard reset won't delete the numbers on a sim card. just make sure u sync before you flash and then hard reset. good luck
-Nstefanelli-
as i said, i havent ever had this problem. i'm guessing that you are still running wm5.. so an upgrade should fix a compatability issue with software.. and you should make sure you don't put any extra software on there that you don't need. otherwise you will overload it, and it MAY happen again.

Phone very slow...

Well after 5 days of having this phone, it seems to have got very slow...
Going into messages and then opening the keyboard, the screen can just sometimes freeze.
When typing a message there is a good second lag from when I type it to it appearing on screen.
Also, ive noticed that pictures I take with the phone seem to be very pixelated on the phone.
Ive had 2 taskbars at once from opening and closing the keyboard.
Just in general the phones seems to going extremly slow. Panels take ages to open up when the panel button is pressed and take a good 3-5secs to load.
It seems like this phone/OS has a stupid amount of bugs that need to be sorted asap.
Anyone else got these problems?
guess it's a matter of expectations
or you experience issues I don't
I'm in no hurry to update to a newer rom myself
well it was fairly quick and i was impressed at first.
but now this has just turned into the slowest and buggiest phone ive had
do you exit programs or do you just put them in the background?

Disable threaded SMS view, it *should* get rid of the lag you speak about.
Have you tried a soft reset? Leaving the phone running non stop for 5 days will slow it down.

yep done. still seems slow...
is it because of some programs ive installed?
uh is this your first pda? I mean I asked because you said your x1 is slow. may we know its slow compared to what? if it is just slow. then I guess wm6.1 is just slow. Ialso have sim-free one. And have a few pda's from wm2003 to 5, 6 and 6.1 and yep the 6.1 is a bit slow.
Its slow compared to how it was when I got it 5 days ago.
However, i have just uninstalled:
Spore
2 tweak programs
Windows Live Panel
The phone is a lot faster now.
Before I was waiting at least 3-4seconds for messages to loads, the screen to rotate etc...
which tweaks were slowing you down?
yeah which one? might help us make ours faster too.
Have you installed touch flo? that screws up the X1's speed
Ok heres what in uninstalled. This has made the device a lot quicker (well, only as quick as default speed - as it was when the device was first used)
Windows Live Panel
Spore
XperiaTweak 2.0
Some other tweak program, allowed you to change what animations ran etc. Can't remember its name. AdvanceTweak or something
After uninstalling these, it made the device as quick as it was when I first got it.
I haven't got any random roms or anything like that. Everything on the device is official.
No TouchFlo
Standard O2 Rom
Ive editied the registry to remove the O2 Panel but this hasn't made a speed difference.
is it possible that spore run on background, developing it's creature.
I too occasionally get 2 seconds freezes. Could it be some cache setting in Xperia Tweak ? Since I don't understand them much.
You can use task manager (I mean real task manager which show processes, it's in phone:\windows) to check what eats CPU and RAM.
I loaded my X1 full with apps and tweaked a little but it's as fast as after a hard reset

PointSense Suite V2

Is anyone else here thinking of trying this on their TP2 when it's released in a few days time? Looks good. IMHO.
http://community.pointui.com/topic/suite-video-preview-pointsense-suite-v2-make-it-mine
I'm going to try it, it looks awesome!
Well, I'm just trying this and it seems very good! The only problems I have/had are the time being and hour wrong (corrected) and a problem with the Bluetooth Widget showing on when it's not.
Here's a look:
I read in the forum that this is extremely slow?
It's certainly not extremely slow - it's smooth!
I had the issue with time being wrong (GMT not BTS), and when I installed it the bottom bar was like the default Home2 one. When didn't uninstall properly.
Overall, it looks very promising if it works well, but I'll wait till the issues are ironed out, then once it's working great may by Home2 Pro to fully benefit from this.
Lets hope others innovate as much as this with Home2!
I have tried to install it and managed to get point UI working but when I installed the pointsense theme it crashed and wouldn't complete the install, now it won't uninstall because not all the files are there, and it can't be deleted, i've tried total commander and memaid to get rid of it and the theme folders just won't budge, it stops any reinstall and then stops the pointUI program working, i've tried to clean out related registry files using memaid but and i can't find any reference to the files using file explorer or total commander but when I search for installed apps using memaid once again the "blueOcean" theme folder is there, the folders inside are ALL empty but I can't delete them.
it's basically left a bunch of locked dead folders on my phone that mean point UI won't work properly again. I don't want to hard reset so I'm not very happy about the screw up, i'm not getting anywhere on the pointui forum with this either.
I'm sorry, but I can't help other than to say backup all your contacts etc. do a hard reset and reinstall it.
It's working ok on my TP2 and is very smooth. The only problems I have is that Bluetooth shows that it's on all the time, the vibrate widget doesn't work and 1 or 2 random crashes - but I'm sure these will be fixed soon enough.
Hope you sort yours out.
thanks mate, i'm going to wait to see how they develop it over the next week or so, i think the bugs and crashes are more the theme than the point Ui app. it's been designed very quickly and released quick too.
I will continue to try to delete the BlueOcean folders, I don't want to hard reset yet as it's taken a while to get HTC's TF2 to look how I like it and to get rid of the annoying Vodafone look.
It's my work phone too and I don't want to spend loads of time messing with it.....got work to do

Is Anyone else experiencing lagg from Super D 1.9.3?

When I first rooted my G1 I rooted to Super D 1.9.2 and thats when I realized my G1 still has balls. Now ever since I updated to 1.9.3 it is very slow and laggy. I even wiped and flashed about three times; once a direct update from 1.9.2, once a full wipe the flashed from sd card with redownloaded ROM, and once a flash without wiping from 1.9.2.
Also everytime I use nandroid or backup for root users my G1 goes into bootloop.
??
have you tried the version with WG-beta 3 kernal yet?
Do you have any swap or cc enabled? If so, how much of either and/or both? Have you tried different settings? What about turning both off?(thats the best in my opinion)
Are you using jit Hack? Correctly installed? (hence all the threads and post going around with everybody's method of using it, and roms with it packaged,lol)--EDIT: also found to be unstable and a ram hog-Cyan
Is home screen in memory or out? (better out if you don't use a lot of widgets)
You wiped 3 times huh?, Did you full or half a** wipe?(meaning data, dalv, ext, battery and rotate settings-thats full wipe) well have you also repaired ext?, fixed permissions?, re-partitioned?, re-flashed 1.6 base?(helps, sometimes.)
Did you flash any 3rd party packaged or compiled zips over it? such as boot.imgs, themes, launchers and stuff like that? (if so, that could be the problem)
Did you reboot at least once after a fresh install? if not, Please do. Usually by second or third boot, everything is running smooth.
How many apps you got? Have you installed any new ones since the lagging started to happen? (if so, get rid of them, or re-install them, that should clear any bad data and cache carried along with it)
Have you tried customizing yourself? Some folks like to push the old contact apk because the newer versions have too many features, causing slow downs
Have you un-installed any eclair or useless system apps?
Are you killing unwanted background processes properly?
ok now....before you attempt to answer any of these questions with a reply or quote...STOP I don't want or expect a response, these questions are what you should be asking yourself, and sometimes that can help you solve your own problems, by taking all of these concepts into consideration, and re-evaluating them for different results.
all in all, the most important question you should ask yourself, DID YOU SEND A DETAILED LOGCAT TO THE DEVELOPER HIMSELF (BEN) BEFORE POSTING THIS THREAD COMPLAINING ABOUT HIS WORK?
if not, then Im sure you will figure out what to do from here , good day sir.
Thanks for your time I guess its te for me to get working.
I just remembered that everytime I use backup for root useres it kills my phone and shuts it off then it becomes slow.
I tried out Super D w/ wg-kernel 2 days ago and found it pretty laggy. For some reason installing apps would take forever and my navigation app wouldn't install at all.

I have that problem too.
I install apps with astro and adb. Both are equally slow because I'm pretty sure it is using the sd card only and avoiding using internal memory at all costs... bit too aggressive of a setup. I think my navigation app failed to install correctly because some part of the installer was time sensitive and writing to the sd card went over the clock limit
I've had ****ty market performance in every ROM I've used. Market in SuperD w/ WG Kernel behaves exactly the same for me. Installing using ASTRO works excellent for me, however. No CC/Swap. JIT enabled.
yeah I got astro too...never tried installing system apps with it though....I mostly use root explorer, but hey, either way...tomato - tomatto....all the same.
I too found Super D 1.9.3 runs really laggy on my G1. I tried all sorts of compcache settings (including off) and started using Adv Task Manager to end non-required apps regularly but it made no difference
Strangely, I then flashed it to my Magic and found it's alot smoother. Maybe not as fast as Dwang but still pretty smooth. Wes Garner reckons the only thing which will slow down a 32B G1 compared to a 32B Magic is Apps2SD.
I did not wipe battery and rotate info on either phone, I didn't think that would cause any problems, though the G1 has had a longer life so perhaps that's the issue.

always wipe battery and rotate setting when going to a different rom, you don't have to do it if you are updating, or just flashing over the current rom, but if you are going to a whole new build, meaning different kernel or base like from 1.6 to 2.1 for example, wipe the battery and rotate settings.

cleanRAM problem/Annoyance

Hey there guys, just a quick one for ya.
Has anyone come across a problem with HTC Addicts cleanRAM?
when i click the the icon to clean it starts the process but then runs my email application(default HTC app) also.
It started doing this yesterday with no changes made to my registry or other device settings.
I've tried un-installing the program and then re-installing but i still get the same (annoying) result.
Has anyone else encountered this? and if so do you know of a fix?
Many Thanks
Sharingan
Well, for me, when I run the Level 3 purge, it takes me to the dial-pad screen for a few seconds. Never really bothered me though...
dial pad
level 3 takes me to dialpad also, wierd, but works ok,,
I also get this with Level 3.
...and for me as well.
This is just how it goes with cleanram. If you have done a customized process list than I would suppose thats why it's bringing up your email because it's purging anything in your list so if it's not running already it will bring it up to purge it to make sure it's not in the memory anymore.
Yea the thing is, i haven't ran a custom purge, i just do Level 3, and it doesn't just pop up, it keeps it open :s Thats why it was annoying for me, doesn't look like there is any kind of fix, just something we have to live with. Thanks for your input!
same here
I think I have the problem that after Cleanram, My Contacts and Programs wont open at all. Then calender says Error: Not enough program memory to start program...
This is a great tool but it keeps doing this to me...
I do a level one purge or 2, same thing happens..
any ideas?

Don't use Clean RAM, lol. It's not like you need to use it. I have 576Mbs enabled and I never use Clean RAM, most of the RAM used is just cache so your most commonly use programs will open faster if you don't use it.
I've never got any slow down from not using it.
