I am trying to make this work on the TyTN:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=IIWPO
Can any one please help me with this? Here a link to my problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=2526&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=75
The cab file has to be signed if you want to run it from ExtROM, you need to use signtool.exe from microsoft SDK, more info here:
http://www.xs4all.nl/~itsme/projects/xda/smartphone-certificates.html
it's a bit tedious, if you manage to do it, please post the details as it will be useful to others too
That's much too complicated for me! Anybody want to have a go, be my guest!
Is there no easier way? What do you think about this?:
After having read this:
Disable the security warning when installing non-certified application
To disable the security warning when installing a non-certfied application, set:
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\0000101a = 1 (DWORD decimal)
To restore the warnings:
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\0000101a = 0 (DWORD decimal)
Note that this makes it easier for any malware to install itself

I was thinking: Is it possible to put in Extended Rom a Cab file which "disables the security warning when installing a non-certfied application" before launching IIWPO.CAB and another Cab file which "enables the security warning when installing a non-certfied application" after launching IIWPO.CAB?
I have never worked with CAB files and I am a complete newbie to this.
Could anyone tell me if this is the right way to go or is there a simpeler way? Could anyone make such a Cab file for me?
You can disable security warnings that way, so u can install cab files without signing, but the cab file that disables security must be signed if you want to run it from ExtROM, so you'll have to sign at least 1 cab file.
Is there a way to add a regitry value after hard reset from ext rom without a cab file?

running a signed exe file from ExtROM that gets the .reg as parameter and puts it into registry... but the exe has to be signed if you want to do it from ExtROM just after hard reset :?
Haven't tried it, but it the cab is signed this can help you, otherwise you'll need to sign the cab:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=50217
Unfortunately the CAB is not signed, so it doesn't get me any further!
Same problem here.
I followed the instructions in IIWPO and it would appear from these instructions that the IIWPO.CAB should install on a hard reset from Ext. Rom, but as we know from the thresd it does not.
I tried to run Default_Signed_DisableSecurity.CAB before IIWPO, but still no joy.
Is there any tool/utility which is signed to stick in extended rom before IIWPO to ensure IIWPO actually install?
I read this:
its got the bypass certification built in when you select unlock extended_ROM.
Can now edit config.txt to add a cab that auto-install protection software (eye on thief, with my config.ini) to send me wife the thief's phone no.

But that cab is not signed either, so how can it help?
Hi Lio,
I've got the IIWPO working on my TyTn (Dopod 838 pro). I strictly follow the steps as outlined in wiki for IIWPO. I placed the CAB: \Extended_ROM\IIWPO.CAB on the first line in the config, txt like following:
LOCK:Enabled
CAB: \Extended_ROM\IIWPO.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\MT_PC_Hermes_DopodAsia_REG_060612.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\MT_Shortcut-MMS-Hermes.CAB

CAB: \Extended_ROM\MT-CameraPatch-Hermes-060703.CAB

RST: Reset
It prompted me install or not for non certified apps when i soft-reseted the phone (i unchecked "allow non-certified applications" in fit4cat Hermes Tweaker b4 soft reset). It didn't work in the first place when i changed owner info. however I discovered the value in the registry :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\XDA-developers\IIWPO\
didn't changed as you performed extraction of Platformxxx with Win CE CAB Manager.
So I proceeded to change the value for Owner = ME and ReportNumber = (Your desired sms to number"
Amd now it work and the reportnumber received sms as I changed the owner name on my TyTn without failure.
Hope this help
I did not signed the IIWPO.cab at all ! in notification queue you should see \windows\IIWPO_main.exe is running.
Please check your registry as I mentioned in my previous post that the reg value Owner=ME and ReportNumber= +300000000 ? please edit and change it

Run the .exe (on your PC) as if you are installing the ROM. After the contents have been extracted and you are asked if you want to continue, just browse to the \Windows\Temp folder and you will se the extracted contents. This has been described in the Atom section last post by Apu http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=268005&page=7&highlight=New+atomi+rom
If it is a WinImg file you would need that program to "look inside"

Don't understand that,
Using: XDA Orbit
I connected the Orbit with my desktop pc and run the "RomUpdateUtility.exe" on my desktop pc, continued the first 2 steps ( "I understand..." "i complete..." ) and canceled then. But there is no extended rom on my desktop pc (C:\Windows\Temp) or Pocket PC (Windows or Windows\Temp)
...What i'm doing wrong?
I think, if i press "Update" in the "RomUpdateUtility.exe" it will update my Pocket PC - or not?
You don't have to cancell. Just stop there and look in the temp folder. You can cancell after you have copied the contents of tep somewhere
But there is nothing...really!
I have HTC P3300 with 1.12.405.01 WWE. Can I and should I use this update? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for all the tips.
All I could find is "RUU_signed.nbh".
Upon searching further, I found the following site:
http://youterm.com/?video=xda/nbh-extract
But I can't seem to understand much out of it. Ya guys care to explain? I don't mind uploading the nbh file for ya guys to try out If the ext_rom contains the audio booster software, it will benefit many Artemis users

Has anybody got Wifi to work on the Hero with this ROM?
Thanks
Can someone explain this to me, cause everything I read shows me I am doing this right but yet I am getting an error still.
I added a cab to the operatorpkg folder: tilt2keyboard.cab
I then went to the ExtendedPkg folder and modifed the config.txt to this:
LOCK:Enabled
CAB:\windows\tilt2keyboard.cab
LOCKisabled
RST: Reset
flashed the rom, and then get an error during the customizing stating:
Error
\windows\tilt2keyboard.cab is not found
When I take the line out of config.txt. and flash it, I look in the windows folder, and the cab is right there plain as day. Its attribute is read only, its not hidden or anything and its driving me insane cause everything I read I did exactly.
I even went to convert this to a EXT Package and still couldnt get it to install that way either.
What am I doing wrong or missing?
You are missing a "space" in the cab line
Code:
CAB: \windows\tilt2keyboard.cab
suggestion: dont set read only, and set hidden to that cab
Diegis0n,
Ur kidding? *&(^%%&^* that was it? going to try this right now.
Que PPC, okay why hidden just curious?
Nope didnt work Now I get the error:
Error
Install \windows\tilt2keyboard.cab failed, code 0x80070005
Both hidden and unhidden.

The way i do it is by using Sleuth255's UC: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366337
Check your security policies.
Code:
;---- disable security check for installed programs
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies]
"0000101a"=dword:00000001
"0000101C"=dword:00000001
Would that be in the boot.rgu file?
Or where would I find that before cooking?

copy the above to your config file.
you should put those reg settings into the app.reg and .rgu of the last Package in the extend packages section, providing that you are using visual kitchen.
Attempting again now. Just added the entries to the .reg and .rgu of zlibce file if my understanding was correct. Will update after cooking and flashing!
Just add this package to your Ext section of the kitchen.
Thank you both Indagroove, and Faria, without that zip I got it to work. But I will add that to the end of my EXT.
But to both of you: Thank you very much.

Hi Folks,
did anybody succeed in cooking CHTE (editor) 2.0.0 in local language?
I do have CHT 2.0.0 and CHTS (scheduler) 2.10 cooked in local language (i.e. German) and working but I did not find a way yet cooking the editor to work correctly until now. The editor starts ok from the CHT menu but then all menu topics in CHTE are not localised in any way. They show i.e. QUICKLINK_MAIN, FREELINK_MAIN, PNL_MAIN etc. I am also not able to modify the language from the CHTE menu itself - it just does not change anything.
I can install CHTE from the cab though and the local language works like a charm out of the box. There must be something missing from my package but until now I was not able to figure what it is. This driving me nuts :-(.
Any help is highly appreciated ;-),

I also have this problem with exactly the same english reg + english app.dat that you posted.
Can you share with us your CHT v2.0 and CHTEditor v2.0 EXT packages??
Mine are:
http://rapidshare.com/files/432372142/CHT_v2.0_EXT_programs.rar
pay attention to this files:
SenseSDK.Resources.QVGA.dll
SenseSDK.Resources.VGA.dll
StedySoft.SenseSDK.dll
remove the files (same name, older versions) from other ext's like bsb-tweaks or 3g dial-up enabler/disabler.
this apps are also based on the sdk but use old versions.
make sure only the ones from chte get cooked in.
Thanks for the ideas so far even though I still do not have had success with CTE yet.
It seems not to be the app.dat - at least I do not see any difference to my package and it also seems not to be some overwritten .dll files as I copied my original .dll files to my HD2 CHTE directory without any change in behavier.
I attach my CHT and CHTE package at the end of this post even though I doubt that the problem lies with my individual packages except for missing something - but you never know ;-).
Cheers,

i had a look at your package...can you explain your problem more detailed?
your app.dat for cht:

my app.dat for cht:
Code:
Directory("\Windows"):-Directory("ManilaXml")
Directory("\Windows\ManilaXml"):-File("Home_Pages.xml","\Windows\Home_Pages.xml")
maybe that's the problem... maybe not... i did not see many other differences.
why are you activating cht softkeybar without presets?
your app.reg (cht2.0.0):
"CHT.Softkeys.Enabled"=dword:00000001

I moved my CHTEditor EXT package to the end (I cooked it last) and the problem is solved
Thank you for your help!
I'm trying to cook CHT right now, and I have a slight problem.
in my reg, I have:
"CHTE.Path"="\\Program Files\CHTEditor\CHTEditor.exe"
And it doesn't work. Still says CHTEditor isn't installed.
So, I check the reg in winmo. It reads:
"\\Program Files\CHTEditor\CHTEditor.exe"
And when I change it to
"\Program Files\CHTEditor\CHTEditor.exe"
It works perfectly. How can I make this work in my app.reg?

Solution to CHTE in local lang
Now I know what is going wrong.
CHTE and CHTScheduler use the the same names for for some of their files.
Language files: i.e. language_default.txt; language_german.txt etc.
DLL files: SenseSDK_Resources.QVGA.dll; SenseSDK_Resources.VGA.dll; StedySoft.SenseSDK.dll
But only StedySoft.SenseSDK.dll in fact is different and gives you problems (at least when cooked in before CHTE).
This is the reason why it does not translate the menu (language files wrong because they are overwritten during cooking). Cooking CHTE being the last package I did get a problem with CHTSchedule.
Now you can get around the problem if you rename the named files in one of those packages to show a _ in front of the filename and modify your app.dat accordingly.
After that it will work like a charm.
Cheers,
/mst

Now you can get around the problem if you rename the named files in one of those packages to show a _ in front of the filename and modify your app.dat accordingly.
After that it will work like a charm.

I tried a few times, but I could never manage to get my OEM package to cook in properly. Obviously the problem is on my end. Any kind souls care to offer up their working EXT/OEM package(s)?
Best regards,

leave out chtscheduler and all addons (or simply cook them in as cab with a underline "_" in front of filename).
this way you can cook them in and install from windows dir.
try again with cht and chte first and report back.

Hi Boggsie,
use the CHTScheduler package attached - it is modified to work for languages 0409 and 0407 already. For CHT and CHTE you can use the packages I posted before.
