Why don't you post this error in the CHT Editor thread, where the developer is more likely to see it?

I've already checked the registry settings and all the setting were correct. Although I've solved the issue now by uninstalling and reinstalling the editor and then doing a soft reset.

hello fellow chefs
i have a problem with cookie home tab 1.7
i made a ext from the cab just like i did with all cabs
i left out manillafull.xml just like cookie has stated in his post
but now when i cook a rom cookie mods dont show up
i see in the right top corner the pages indicator of the quicklink pages
and i see the manilla slider on the bottom and i can slide to all tab(all tabs give the scren they should give except home screen)
i also put in cht editor and when i make changes to the quicklinks the get changed
but i dont see time, date, weather, etc, etc of allt he things that is supposed to be shown on home tab
can some oen share a working ext for cookie home tab 1.7
thansk in advance
edit: i attach the package i use now and some pics
Here use my packages , I didnt remove manillafull.xml when I cooked it in. I put CHTEditor in aswell, youir going to want to change its locations in the app.dat if you dont want it going to tools.
Also you want to add a reg tweak so CHT finds CHTEditor in the manila softkeys:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"CHTE.Path"="\\Program Files\\CHTEditor\\CHTEditor.exe"

Notes for ROM cooking:
Don't cook in the file "ManilaFull.xml". Originally it's a manila cache file that's generated on start up (based on the xml files in \windows\manilaxml\).
This file should never be cooked in because it will prevent changes to manila pages and menus.
The "ManilaFull.xml" in the cab is an empty file. It's only there to make manila regenerate it after install, because I've made changes to the home menu.
So make sure not to cook in that file in any form.

Can someone explain this to me, cause everything I read shows me I am doing this right but yet I am getting an error still.
I added a cab to the operatorpkg folder: tilt2keyboard.cab
I then went to the ExtendedPkg folder and modifed the config.txt to this:
LOCK:Enabled
CAB:\windows\tilt2keyboard.cab
LOCKisabled
RST: Reset
flashed the rom, and then get an error during the customizing stating:
Error
\windows\tilt2keyboard.cab is not found
When I take the line out of config.txt. and flash it, I look in the windows folder, and the cab is right there plain as day. Its attribute is read only, its not hidden or anything and its driving me insane cause everything I read I did exactly.
I even went to convert this to a EXT Package and still couldnt get it to install that way either.
What am I doing wrong or missing?
You are missing a "space" in the cab line
Code:
CAB: \windows\tilt2keyboard.cab
suggestion: dont set read only, and set hidden to that cab
Diegis0n,
Ur kidding? *&(^%%&^* that was it? going to try this right now.
Que PPC, okay why hidden just curious?
Nope didnt work Now I get the error:
Error
Install \windows\tilt2keyboard.cab failed, code 0x80070005
Both hidden and unhidden.

The way i do it is by using Sleuth255's UC: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366337
Check your security policies.
Code:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies]

"0000101C"=dword:00000001
Would that be in the boot.rgu file?
Or where would I find that before cooking?

copy the above to your config file.
you should put those reg settings into the app.reg and .rgu of the last Package in the extend packages section,providing that you are using visual kitchen.
Attempting again now. Just added the entries to the .reg and .rgu of zlibce file if my understanding was correct. Will update after cooking and flashing!
Just add this package to your Ext section of the kitchen.
Thank you both Indagroove, and Faria, without that zip I got it to work. But I will add that to the end of my EXT.
But to both of you: Thank you very much.

Solved thread
Hiden cab...? well i use hidden cabs in my poor UC to simply dont have more files to load when i go to my windows folder, thats the only reason.
I know there are solved posts about this but I have tried all of those. I've been trying to figure this one out for the past 2 days now.
Remove the "Redirect" value under the following keys:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Owner]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Buttons]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Input]
The tips from above wont work in my rom. I have checked the registry after flashing my cooked rom and there is no "Redirect" value anymore on the said keys. I dont know why still the problem is there.
Under all settings>Personal>Buttons.. There are no buttons to assign...
When tying and XT9 is activated there are no words on the box of suggested words. Just an empty box.
Anyone who know something about this?
Thanks and Regards,
Pongskie
Have you tried just exporting the entire Startinfo registry key? That works fine for me, and it's the best way to keep your start menu organized.

Hi Farmer Ted thanks, but can you please explain further how the entire startinfo could be related to my problem? I got confused there. I checked the startinfo entries and exported it. I didn't see anything related to my problem.
Startinfo has all the settings reg keys for the start menu. Also, look and see if there's a provxml with the re-direct keys. Delete all of them, and put the provxml in an EXT. I've never had the issue before (just read about it). I have a start menu EXT that is filled with modified (mostly empty) provxml's as well as my startinfo registry in an app.reg file. The modified provxml's over-write the stock ones from any new Sys build, and I never get any surprises in my start menu.
pongskie,
Just for the heck of it, add this to your personal EXT reg since it will be cooked last. This should work for you
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Owner]
"Redirect"=-
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Buttons]
"Redirect"=-
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Input]
"Redirect"=-

Thanks lioryte but even though I added those in my personal EXT reg still the problem exist. I check my phones reg through CeReg Editor and I saw that the redirect was not there but still the problem exist. I really had no idea why this is happening.
All Settings > Personal > Buttons... no buttons to assign..
When typing and XT9 was active, the suggested words box was empty. The words are not there.

That pretty much suggests that a provxml is causing the problem. It's easy enough to fix this: look at all the provxml's in your dump folder, and search for redirect. You'll find it in 10 minutes. Then edit that file and put it in an EXT that runs at the end of your build.
These 2 apps are very usefull (at least for me lol) but they miss a simply import/export to file like in the old AdvancedConfig and this should be very usefull for chefs.
So my questions are:
Somebody know an app that take note of every registry change?
Somebody know which are the registry keys that these 2 app gonna change?
An alternative app that has an Import/Export feature?
Thanks.

yep... resco registry editor... but its not like kheb that can take snapshots... but it does import export regfiles....
The problem I see is that Touch Tools only has 2 registry entries under HKCU software Touch Tools. Confirm on exit and Hepatic Feebback.
When I make changes in the program where do these settings get stored?
Do two snapshots, the second with a diff, then make an oem from the diff. Look on your sd card for the kheb/diff folder, and the oem will be there.
I have a morscript to toggle data connxn's; it does the same thing as Nodata.

Hi Folks,
did anybody succeed in cooking CHTE (editor) 2.0.0 in local language?
I do have CHT 2.0.0 and CHTS (scheduler) 2.10 cooked in local language (i.e. German) and working but I did not find a way yet cooking the editor to work correctly until now. The editor starts ok from the CHT menu but then all menu topics in CHTE are not localised in any way. They show i.e. QUICKLINK_MAIN, FREELINK_MAIN, PNL_MAIN etc. I am also not able to modify the language from the CHTE menu itself - it just does not change anything.
I can install CHTE from the cab though and the local language works like a charm out of the box. There must be something missing from my package but until now I was not able to figure what it is. This driving me nuts :-(.
Any help is highly appreciated ;-),

this is clearly chte-related question and you don't have to open up a new thread.
if you ask this question in the chte-thread, i'm sure you will get a answer.
i guess you missed some app.dat entries...
language files attached.
german reg:
german app.dat:
english reg:
english app.dat:

I also have this problem with exactly the same english reg + english app.dat that you posted.
Can you share with us your CHT v2.0 and CHTEditor v2.0 EXT packages??
Mine are:
http://rapidshare.com/files/432372142/CHT_v2.0_EXT_programs.rar
pay attention to this files:
SenseSDK.Resources.QVGA.dll
SenseSDK.Resources.VGA.dll
StedySoft.SenseSDK.dll
remove the files (same name, older versions) from other ext's like bsb-tweaks or 3g dial-up enabler/disabler.
this apps are also based on the sdk but use old versions.
make sure only the ones from chte get cooked in.
Thanks for the ideas so far even though I still do not have had success with CTE yet.
It seems not to be the app.dat - at least I do not see any difference to my package and it also seems not to be some overwritten .dll files as I copied my original .dll files to my HD2 CHTE directory without any change in behavier.
I attach my CHT and CHTE package at the end of this post even though I doubt that the problem lies with my individual packages except for missing something - but you never know ;-).
Cheers,
mst
i had a look at your package...can you explain your problem more detailed?
your app.dat for cht:
Code:
Directory("%Windows%"):-Directory("ManilaXml")
Directory("%Windows%\ManilaXml"):-File("Home_Pages.xml","%Windows%\Home_Pages.xml")
my app.dat for cht:
Code:
Directory("\Windows"):-Directory("ManilaXml")
Directory("\Windows\ManilaXml"):-File("Home_Pages.xml","\Windows\Home_Pages.xml")
maybe that's the problem... maybe not... i did not see many other differences.
why are you activating cht softkeybar without presets?
your app.reg (cht2.0.0):
"CHT.Softkeys.Enabled"=dword:00000001
"CHT.Softkeys.Key5"=""
"CHT.Softkeys.Key4"=""
"CHT.Softkeys.Key3"=""
"CHT.Softkeys.Key2"=""
"CHT.Softkeys.Key1"=""
my app.reg:
"CHT.Softkeys.Enabled"=dword:00000000
"CHT.Softkeys.Key5"="LockDevice"
"CHT.Softkeys.Key4"="Menu"
"CHT.Softkeys.Key3"="StartMenu"
"CHT.Softkeys.Key2"="Phone"
"CHT.Softkeys.Key1"="TabSlider"

I moved my CHTEditor EXT package to the end (I cooked it last) and the problem is solved
Thank you for your help!
I'm trying to cook CHT right now, and I have a slight problem.
in my reg, I have:
"CHTE.Path"="\\Program Files\CHTEditor\CHTEditor.exe"
And it doesn't work. Still says CHTEditor isn't installed.
So, I check the reg in winmo. It reads:
"\\Program Files\CHTEditor\CHTEditor.exe"
And when I change it to
"\Program Files\CHTEditor\CHTEditor.exe"
It works perfectly. How can I make this work in my app.reg?
Regards
Smith

Code:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"CHTE.Path"="\\Program Files\[COLOR="Red"]\[/COLOR]CHTEditor\[COLOR="Red"]\[/COLOR]CHTEditor.exe"
"CHTE.Language"="default"
No good, still says 'chte not installed'
EDIT: Problem solved. I just made a regedit with nothing but CHTE.Path and CHTE.Language and converted it to provxml.

Solution to CHTE in local lang
Now I know what is going wrong.
CHTE and CHTScheduler use the the same names for for some of their files.
Language files: i.e. language_default.txt; language_german.txt etc.
DLL files: SenseSDK_Resources.QVGA.dll; SenseSDK_Resources.VGA.dll; StedySoft.SenseSDK.dll
But only StedySoft.SenseSDK.dll in fact is different and gives you problems (at least when cooked in before CHTE).
This is the reason why it does not translate the menu (language files wrong because they are overwritten during cooking). Cooking CHTE being the last package I did get a problem with CHTSchedule.
Now you can get around the problem if you rename the named files in one of those packages to show a _ in front of the filename and modify your app.dat accordingly.
After that it will work like a charm.
Cheers,
/mst

I tried a few times, but I could never manage to get my OEM package to cook in properly. Obviously the problem is on my end. Any kind souls care to offer up their working EXT/OEM package(s)?
Best regards,

leave out chtscheduler and all addons (or simply cook them in as cab with a underline "_" in front of filename).
this way you can cook them in and install from windows dir.
try again with cht and chte first and report back.

Hi Boggsie,
use the CHTScheduler package attached - it is modified to work for languages 0409 and 0407 already. For CHT and CHTE you can use the packages I posted before.
