Gods, take apart any flashable bootscreen, and all the information you need is right there. Pushing random files to the phone isn't going to accomplish anything.

Go into system/media delete bootanimation.zip then flash the boot screen you want(assuming you have a flashable zip)
That's how I have learned to do many things. Download a theme, bootscreen, flashable updates....Unzip.....Look at how it's setup.....

EDIT: She's back. The problem is that there's many sets of instructions out there... some that I think are for not-so-bad bricks (if there's such a thing) and other (longer) instructions for bad-brick. LOL
Anyway, HUGE HUGE thanks to soundcolor over on AllDroid for his in depth instructions. The part that saves my a$$ were the parts that came after the rdlite run when the phone goes into boot loop again even after the reflash.
Link to his instructions here: http://alldroid.org/default.aspx?g=posts&t=762
Anyway, hope that helps other people who might get themselves into a similar situation!!
I could really use some help here.
I tried to install this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=749692
I was upgraded to 2.2 and before I installed it, there wasn't any post in the thread saying that you could install it on 2.2 (it said it was for 2.1... but lots of things are and still work on 2.2 so I didn't think it would be a major problem other than maybe not working).
Anyway, i followed the first step and pushed the framework file and it put my phone into bootloop.
So I tried to run rsd lite (sbf) and it did it's thing, but I'm still in bootloop.
Am I totally screwed here?

after the sbf finished did you take it off the usb, take out battery then put it back in and boot up from there?

hi paul. thanks for responding. see edit to orig post. all fixed. thanks though for helping out!!!
my phone wont restart after the framework-res push ....???
well, does this actually fix a bootloader problem? im just stuck at bootloader and i can't get into recovery or anything. just straight to bootloader.
also does bootloader erase all the files? meaning like roots and all?
It's a question that has probably been asked many times, but after hrs of searching I couldn't find an answer.
How do you replace the Motorola M boot logo on a Droid 1?

Thats's for the milestone. I presume he asked for the droid. Not sure if it will work.
Thanks guys.
Well, my sbf file kept failing to install. I was careful to check # of bytes every step of the way. Tried building it 3 times.
At least I was always able to flash the stock M logo back each time, no bricked device. Any advice?
I don't know if this would help at all?
I've given up on it for now, decided to make a boot animation with the icon I wanted instead. Thanks.
Hey this is probably one of the easiest ways to make a boot logo. The program works great and i use it all the time. Check it out

Now that was easy. Thank you.
Still wish I knew where I went wrong building my own sbf, but happy to have it done.
Thanks.
Hiya All! most people like to know how to change their splash screen because they want to change it to something else.
as daft as this sounds i would really like to be-able to take the G3MOD splash screen and use it as my phones wallpaper
it just looks so good booting up since i have a silver galaxy and the exact same red phone cover as in the image!
but i have no clue where it is stored on my phone, i know where bootanimation.zip is stored but i can't figure
out where or how to get to the boot splash screen using root explorer
can anyone help me with this? also if it's a special file can you tell me how to convert it back to bmp thank you!

If I remember correctly I think the splash screen image is inside the kernel I think, as I remember someone asked about it in another thread.

I remember this too, but that was pretty long ago, should still apply though. So unless you know how to mess with the kernel, I suggest you don't try to change the splash screen.
Sent from my GT-I9003 using xda app-developers app
oh not trying to change the screen just want that splash.bmp to put as a wallpaper if i knew where it was on the phone
was hoping could get into /system put the fill convert it to bmp

As they said above, the file isn't in the system since it's in the kernel so unfortunately it's not that simple. Maybe you can find out who made it and then ask them for the image file?
no worries was hoping someone who made the kernel would pick up on this post and hopefully PM me with a link to the splash.
see i don't know if it's the original G3MOD kernel it's crylo ROM but it says the kernel is 2.6 i only see GMOD 2.4 so it might of been a custom thing.
never know someone who made it might see this thread,

The version of the kernel made by android itself is 2.6... blah blah but the latest version of G3MOD is 2.5 and the splash screen was made by one of the G3MOD developers. It wasn't made by Kyrillos.
Press the thanks button if I helped.
Does anyone know how...?I tried many things and programs but they didnt work I tried unpacking boot.img but i dont know what to do then...I though that it would be a .bin or a ordinary image file but no luck...I wanna make a TW ICS Based Rom much better than the other but i want to change the boot logo.
Any help would be appreciated!
You can maybe try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2184611
Maybe i change my boot logo now! Thank you!
EDIT: Hardcore work! After many search, i think it's too hard for me.
Heres the deal. I have flashed, virtually, every stock and custom rom via odin or recovery .zip flash. Flash install completes every time. It reboots goes to samsung logo then black but slightly illuminated screen. What the hell am i doing wrong? Sorry! I hope im posting in the proper location. Digi-slap me if i am. Thanx! Any input would be greatly appreciated. Helpful or not. Its already bricked so i dont think a shot in the dark could do much harm. Im willing to try just about anything at this point. Wits end!!!!

How long are you waiting before you are giving up on the flash? It almost sounds like you don't have a bootanimation or the binary to play it? I would think that flashing new firmware would take care of that. After you flash the rom or firmware, maybe try going into recovery and do a factory reset, then bit into the system and wait at least 15 minutes. My screen looked like that when I was fooling around with doing my own boot animation that didn't work. It did exactly what you described for a long time into it went into the green screen with the Android working on apps.
