[Q] How to change the M boot logo? - Motorola Droid and Milestone Themes and Apps

It's a question that has probably been asked many times, but after hrs of searching I couldn't find an answer.
How do you replace the Motorola M boot logo on a Droid 1?

Thats's for the milestone. I presume he asked for the droid. Not sure if it will work.

Thanks guys.

Well, my sbf file kept failing to install. I was careful to check # of bytes every step of the way. Tried building it 3 times.
At least I was always able to flash the stock M logo back each time, no bricked device. Any advice?

I don't know if this would help at all?

I've given up on it for now, decided to make a boot animation with the icon I wanted instead. Thanks.

Hey this is probably one of the easiest ways to make a boot logo. The program works great and i use it all the time. Check it out

Now that was easy. Thank you.
Still wish I knew where I went wrong building my own sbf, but happy to have it done.
Thanks.

[Q] Nell Help - Boot Loop (fixed instructions)

EDIT: She's back. The problem is that there's many sets of instructions out there... some that I think are for not-so-bad bricks (if there's such a thing) and other (longer) instructions for bad-brick. LOL
Anyway, HUGE HUGE thanks to soundcolor over on AllDroid for his in depth instructions. The part that saves my a$$ were the parts that came after the rdlite run when the phone goes into boot loop again even after the reflash.
Link to his instructions here: http://alldroid.org/default.aspx?g=posts&t=762
Anyway, hope that helps other people who might get themselves into a similar situation!!
I could really use some help here.
I tried to install this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=749692
I was upgraded to 2.2 and before I installed it, there wasn't any post in the thread saying that you could install it on 2.2 (it said it was for 2.1... but lots of things are and still work on 2.2 so I didn't think it would be a major problem other than maybe not working).
Anyway, i followed the first step and pushed the framework file and it put my phone into bootloop.
So I tried to run rsd lite (sbf) and it did it's thing, but I'm still in bootloop.
Am I totally screwed here?

after the sbf finished did you take it off the usb, take out battery then put it back in and boot up from there?

hi paul. thanks for responding. see edit to orig post. all fixed. thanks though for helping out!!!
my phone wont restart after the framework-res push ....???
well, does this actually fix a bootloader problem? im just stuck at bootloader and i can't get into recovery or anything. just straight to bootloader.
also does bootloader erase all the files? meaning like roots and all?

[Q] "FlyX, FlyX...Damn you!!!!"

I am trying to load my first ROM (FlyX). After the reboot and Install step, I immediately see a droid with an exclamation mark. The phone runs great but no luck with the ROM. Ive tried twice and get the same results. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG YALL????
You're using an older ROM
Try a newer one
Here is a list http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=806639
Not sure. but just an fyi, the developer who made FlyX (Birdman) no longer develops on the X, so its kinda a lost ROM...just a heads up... no one is doing bug fixes or development on it anymore.
The current "top picks" are prob fission/ZapX/Rubix

what instructions are you following?
I followed the instructions from the Droid Life article.
Do you mean the rubiX Focused 1.0 (currently on ROM manager?)

I'd have to agree with this.
If you're dead set on getting FlyX installed, might want to try an SBF to see if you can get it to work on a clean install.
Other than that we got nothin.
strange - looks like posts are being deleted and/or re-ordered in this thread.
Im going to go with ZapX. I have seen tutorials on loading the zip file and installing it that way and also directly from ROM Manager. Is one way better than the other? Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate yalls help.

[Q] help me please!!!???

so a buddy of mine rooted his wifes eris, and sorta messed up the root, he can get to clockwork mod and all, BUT any rom he tries to flash will say error at line 9 or line 6 not enough space on device, aborting operation....
he also failed to make an nand back up so basically we are stuck in clockwork
someone help! how do we either fix this to flash a rom or unroot/return to stock this device??
we have tryed the RUU method but it doesnt reconize the drvice because we are in clock work
and we have try the pbm img but s=on so were locked out
If s=on then i dont think he got root

How full is the battery? I get errors if I try to flash and the battery is ~30% or less.

what type of errors have you seen?
his says not enough space on device... could this relate the cwm bricking devices?
more so is the device bricked at this point or are we still ok?

That sounds like the type of stuff i would get. that or a push file via adb thing. It doesn't sound like a clockwork bricking. The problem with CWM is that it doesn't have the verification step that amon-ra does. Are you flashing roms from these forums? I trust the devs here, but I don't think I would flash a rom that isn't from here w/o a recommendation from one of the devs. I would plug the phone in and let it go for a bit and try again after it has a charge.

yes we can power on we can use cwm mod hell we can place a pbmimg on the sd card, it just wont read it because s=on at the time
in doing a massive google search
any chance this would work
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/hacking-help/37717-unroot-unbrick-using-sbf-post-ikithme.html
if not anyone got any ideas?
3 more questions
a: is there a way to get s=off without android loaded, between just the bootloader and cwm avalible? this way we can hopefully just use the pbmimg
B: is there a way to replace cwm with amon ra in this current state to use flashback21? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=792026
and this is a really crazy thought but can we take the backup we created tonight from his eris... both phones are EXACTLY alike, purchased at the same time and all...and use it to flash in cwm to recover the dead phone?
there is way to flash S=OFF through recovery. Flash the file from here..
In order to use a nandroid from a different phone you need to change a few things to make it work. I read it somewhere. If I find it ill let ya know

This is only supposed to work if you have bootloader version 1.49. If you're lucky like me and have 1.47 it won't work. That's according to bftbo. He's tried both.

[Q] How to change boot logo?

Please say if I've missed an old how-to guide specific to the Nexus 4! (A link would be helpful in that case
Is there an easy(ish) way of changing the boot logo? My phone is rooted so that's not an issue, and I have ADB, but I'm inexperienced with it so if the method requires that, please include a detailed guide so that laypeople like me can follow
Many thanks to anyone who can tell me anything here.

Best bet is to get ROM Toolbox- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.liberty.toolboxpro .

except it doesnt change boot logos. its easy to use, just not easy to read
a boot logo is not the same as a boot animation.

I have ROM Toolbox Pro already, and I've used it to change my boot animation (among other things), but I don't think it caters for the boot logo (what is displayed before the animation is loaded). Small difference .
It may have this option and I've just not found it yet, in which case, do you know where to find it? Otherwise, is there another app or method I can use?
Thanks a lot for your answer!

you can not change the boot logo on a nexus 4 unfortunately, its in the same partition as the bootloader and very easy to brick if you mess up. so, at this point, no one has made it possible for us to change it with an app.

Thanks! It's odd though, because stock Nexus Android comes with just a centered white Google logo as the boot logo, whereas my CM has that with a little grey unlocked padlock sign underneath... Maybe they edited it themselves, or it's an Android way of saying the phone is rooted/the bootloader unlocked.

the liitle grey unlocked padlock is visable on any nexus with an unlocked bootloader. on the n5, someone did develop a way to change the boot logo, but i dont think anyone has tried his method on the n4, as it not working could also brick the device. heres the n5 thread for changing the bootlogo, if you would like to test.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/themes-apps/tool-change-boot-logo-images-t2763698

Help: New phone is soft bricked, can't find out how to flash stock ROM onto phone.

Very long story short, I got a new phone, tried to install a custom ROM onto it, screwed up during the process, then found out that this phone won't work on my cell network as it is an international phone, not a US phone. I've spent the better part of my week trying to fix this phone so I can get it refunded and buy a phone that works on US networks.
With all the effort I've put into this, I've managed to get it where it'll reach a loading screen, but it gets stuck on it. Anything and everything that I have tried so far has yet to work for me.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Edit: Somehow didn't think to specify model. Moto G7 XT1962-6.
I have tried a factory reset multiple times, not working for me.
I have tried flashing both a custom ROM and the stock ROM, very limited success. At one point I got the custom ROM working, but I need the stock ROM on it so that I'd better qualify for getting the phone refunded.
At the moment, it is stuck on a boot loop where it loads up to a custom loading screen, not the stock loading screen, and it stays there without any progress. Before, it would just loop the "this device is unlocked" screen.
If you specify what phone it is, you might get more users who can help
