nearly a month ago. maybe his computer/internet broke or something, god knows. hope he gets back soon though

Perhaps he has a life outside of here. When there's a new OTA update, I'm sure we'll see him poking around on here

This is a joke right? Not that I would mind; I'd be happy for him. I sure hope he comes back around. Haykuro and JF would make the most awesome tag team!

I tried emailing him through xda, no response :-\

Maybe CADIE got pissed off and went after him...

I just spoke with him today, no he did not get a job at HTC or anything like that. He was just feeling bogged down having to read through hundreds of posts a day. He said he will still be making announcements on XDA from time to time but he wont be as active as he was. There will be future releases from JesusFreke so no body panic, its not the end of the world.

JF isn't just "The Man" he is the Android Messiah LOL

If he does try and quit we are just going to kidnap him and use him as slave labor so its in his best interest to just stick around. I mean ****, can you even imagine where we would be without him?! There are some other rising stars in this community but no one can replace JesusFreke.

Can't say I blame him one little bit. Has anyone looked at his profile page and looked at some of the basic questions on there? People seem to think he's the only source of info about ANYTHING Android related. I still can't fathom how people ignore all the stickied posts and also refuse to use the search button.

Listen ****-stick. It's people like you that made him go into hiding. If you don't like his ROM, then flash the factory ROM back.
Or, you can just run in front of a train. Whichever suits you best.

Downgrade 2.1 to 1.29 to Root???

Is it possible? Theunlockr gives a link to download 1.29 but since so many on here are trying to root 2.1 I'm guessing it's not possible.

Not possible. You will get an error that says something to the tune of image is older and the RUU will abort.

The OP wasn't asking anything out of the ordinary. Giving attitude, flaming, and trolling will take things nowhere, particularly not from our stand point. Please consider not posting like this anymore since you are breaking all three of the aforementioned rules. Consider this a friendly warning.

No it is not possible. You will have yo wait till someone roots the 2.1 release. Next time do a search before posting.

You can not root 2.1 and the phone will not allow you to downgrade the hboot so you can not go back from 2.1
There is a thread in the dev forum. A couple people are trying to find a work around to either downgrade or just a plain old exploit to gain root. Keep a look out for it.

In my field thats a form of Subordination. I have modded for many years and ran my own forums, if i was a Mod/Admin here i would see it like that... But honestly, dude im not busting your chops regardless i was just pointing out a simple rule which wasnt directly or indirectly pointed at you. You talk about feelings running high here well everyone at one point or another was a newbie so since my feelings are now directly involved at this point i feel that yes... Some of the comments here that i have seen especially to newbies are complete irate, irrational and overall douche like.

I don't think it was the "No. Not possible." part that was the issue, it was the "Done. Mods close thread." part that was a bit rude. It came off that way to me anyways. A simple "Not possible" would have sufficed.

OK I agree because even I can be a fool to noobers. I was talking about this thread, not in general though.

My feelings were never hurt because I understand how some people do not have lives and just go from post to post being assholes to strangers on the internet to make up for their non-existent social life in the real world. As far as it being a stupid question, sorry that I did not perform a search. I looked at the posts from the first two pages in this forum and didn’t see anything. Either way, have a nice day. open source does not mean you can go taking others people work and passing it off as your own... but I guess since you did one a2sd script that everyone used you feel it was right to take 95% of another rom and relabel it your own?
A simple credit would of taken care of this whole mess and kept everyone of your threads from being locked. It's not hard to tell others that YOU did not do everything in YOUR rom, but you choose to say you don't work with team douche but you sure are quick to take from them..
Let's make sure we are comparing apples to apples here King..

Heck, Klick hasn't even been formally notified by the XDA staff as to why his threads are locked, never mind a formal accusation. Yet it seems the community has already made it's decision, with pitchforks and torches in hand.
I'm sorry, but what a crock! If any of you were accused of an offense, i'm sure you'd all want the benefit of the doubt, and a fair hearing before being tarred and feathered!
I strongly encourage the XDA staff to contact Klick directly in regards to this issue, and to make a public statement. Anything less constitutes a witchhunt, and I for one do not want to sit idly by and watch that unfold!

Well, I just download the 3.1 zip file from the Chinese site and install it in my acer
i notice that some programs just stop working at all...
.....GAMES
.....MULTIMEDIA
.....E-READING
.....GMAIL WIDGET
all were gone....well i got frustrated a lil' bit i wasn't happy at all with this...
and here comes the magic....i chose to go for the "factory reset"..trying to get back to v.3.01 and when i did the factory reset ....all the programs that stop working from the first update came back and working very good..and when i check my version of android is was the 3.1...

It's not a troll. He's saying that he used the Chinese official 3.1 update.zip, which caused some apps to force close when he ran them. He then did a factory reset (which just deleted all userdata without touching the ROM), and that caused them to work again.
It isn't new info, but it's not trolling either - he is right.

Not at all. I did read....and unlike you I understood and confirmed this works for the moron above...now I am quoting ANOTHER moron.
This place must be full of them!

He essentially wiped data/cache after installing the rom instead of before. Same effect.
Moral of the story -> stop being lazy and wipe, i know people read it in the instructions and just choose not to then complain about FC's and other "bugs"

New sys update

Just came in d/l, installed. Had the coolest Android green gears ani. I have ever seen. Haven't had time to check it out. Keep your eyes open for it, do manual check for it.

Yeah the new spinning gears inside the Android during the update were really cool. I kinda freaked out when they froze for about a minute at the end of the process. Still the standard Android boot logo after the update though.
New version: Acer_A500_4.010.13_COM_GEN2 (previously was on 4.010.11)
Does anyone know what this patch does? I happily report it does not break root access, nor did it break my Netflix library fix. Also, my same tun.ko still works.

Hey look im sorry but i was in a bad mood and maybe could have a bit more gentle. its just that i have been seeing threads ALL OVER THE PLACE about updates and there are sooo many dumb threads and duplicates that I got pissed off. Im sorry to you, the other guys can kiss my ass because they are behind (probably where they like it lol) because they are doing EXACTLY what I did if you think about it
I think there is a big need for more mods here.

I appreciate your response but it seems as a result of this whole thing I was put on probation because of the original ? post, kind of ticks me off to put it mildly ! No reason as to why. I completely understand when you have a bad day & respond the way you did I've done the same thing.

Hey Johny, prior to this post in my posts, there was name then under that member. Since this thread I had member [ OP] , maybe I'm misinterpreting the meaning. I was really tired & irritable late last night. (grumpy old man syndrome) doesn't really matter today. I've always been curious what the letters designate & just assumed. Thanks for the concern.
