General Stability- What is your experience? - HD2 General

What is your general experience regarding stability with the T-Mobile hd2?
Mine so far has been lack luster. I love the phone, I just wish it was actually stable. My experience thus far has been-
Hangs at lock screen about 2-3 times per day
Texting occasionally lags heavily..
Music app has frozen once
1-2 times per day won't respond after returning lock mode, requires reset.
All the problems I have can be resolved by turning it off and on. So far, I've found myself resetting the phone 4-5 times per day. Anyone having the same experience? Any tips? It's been frustrating. Such an awesome phone, but sometimes it just locks up for no reason and I can't even make a phone call.

I've found it pretty stable. I have no problems... just as stable, if not more, than any of my previous WM devices. It'll lock up occasionally when I'm experiment with certain apps or settings, but never on normal usage.

Before I flashed to a custom ROM I had all kinds of problems with the phone. It was laggy and was almost unusable. After flashing to a custom ROM all those problems went away. Now I haven't had any problems with the phone and it is very stable now. I would recommend you flashing to a custom ROM if you haven't done so already.

Coming from an HD, I have been using custom ROMs for over a year. However, I haven't yet flashed a custom ROM on my HD2 simply because I have yet to find any problem with the stock ROM (mainly since it's completely up to date and the cooks are using it as their base). So far, I've had only one...maybe two freezes. I'll definitely start flashing custom ROMs once there's an update to manila, but till then, I'll prolly stick with this one (or until i get bored).
(Also, I am a very heavy user, so I'm pleased with just one freeze a week.)

Using stock rom, occasionally using Task Manager to kill something that's sucking CPU, but otherwise very stable. Only hit sleep-of-death twice so far, and rebooted only couple times to fix extreme lag from something unkillable and hidden.
Using my own 8GB SDHC class 6 (instead of crappy 16GB class 2) to cut down battery drain, and using only external GPS. Lots of registry tweaks to turn on power-management, and using BsB Tweaks.
Besides Opera 10 constantly screwing up virtual, runs mostly fine with Garmin Mobile XT, Google Maps, iGo8, Navizon (wow!).

No Problems, What a fine piece of Hardware.

HD2
Hello all,
I have had great stability out of this phone thus far. Only problem I had was a cab that I installed gummed things up for a while, uninstalled it and soft reset and all was good again.
Like any phone, if your going to tweak it or install cabs, do one at a time. Then test the results. See how it effects your phone.
Most of the complaints you hear are unfortunately from people that really don't know what their doing or dont do the research before doing stuff and just dive in installing everything they can get there hands on, and then the end up complaining in the end, giving a phone a bad rap.
Just my 2 "Sense".

Let's face it: HD2 has many problems.

No need to hide. This phone has many problems, still many people seems to ignore them completely. No need to start the "It's your phone, it's strange, I use it a lot and it never happens" saga. The problems are there. And for everyone. The fact you don't notice some bad behaviours doesn't mean the phone is perfect or that your baby is exempt from problems. Let's start:
1) Suboptimal WI-FI performance. On a 802.11g wireless network, connected to an 8Mbps internet connection, the phone can't even saturate the badwidth of the network. Speedtest.net reports an approximate 2Mbps download capacity (EDIT for those who cannot distinguish: 2 megabits, not megabytes). Test it yourself: try to download something from a fast website and try to figure out which is your maximum download transfer speed. You will be disappointed. As a comparative, this means the phone can use 1/4 of the available bandwidth. A SonyEricsson Satio can fully use the available bandwidth, instead (someone told me "tell me a phone that can do it. Now you have one).
2) Stanby freeze: it's there. The phone freezes randomly while in stanby draining all your battery juice. Sometimes happens rarely, sometimes happens frequently.
3) Poor memory space handling: after just 20 days of use from a fresh ROM update, my free memory space on ROM is just 36MB. Without installing big things or hacking anything. Sure, there are fixes produced by the community, log cleaners, temp files deletion utilities, etc. etc. Still, it's a quite a disappointement: it means this phone can't work properly in a "factory state" for much time.
4) "Always on" features: nice, apart the fact in random periods of time the services just stop to download data. The Twitter client doesn't work well. Sometimes you can hear a tweet sound, sometimes it downloads data without the sound, sometimes it downloads nothing until reboot.
5) Poor stability in general: the OS crashes frequently. Less frequently than the first shipped rom. Still it's not very stable.
6) Poor support in general with the updates: finally the SMS stuck problem has been fixed but they spent 3 months for it without a valid solution. The camera fix doesn't hide the fact the sensor is defective.
I don't say this to start a flame, of course, but only because I'm frustrated with these problems. And people, instead of spreading words about them, just pump the hype, including some notorious web sites that have no scope but pushing the hype even further. But the truth is another: this phone doesn't work as expected.
I honestly do not have the problems you're describing..
Your "truth" is very different from mine, but ne1 is allowed to have no
Can't comment on all those, but i hear you, defo had some of them and i'm on my 2nd unit after 2 weeks.
With Nokia it took them at least 6 months to iron out the flaws in their released phones, defo the case with N95 & N96, i didn't expect it to be the case on this phone.
SMS fix? is it? or only in 1.66, because the hotfix's don't work on the 1.44 ROM
I would like to add the Audiobooster problem to that list
well, I don't pretend mine is perfect but there are more things to love than to hate about it. regarding the problems, I think you cannot generalize because I've never experienced some of your issues but I'm bothered by other myself. finally I guess it's just a subjective call anyway...
I had some of your problems when my HD2 was on the original 1.48 WWE Hong Kong ROM. However, since I flashed HSPL, Merlion LEO V1.90 ROM and Radio version 2.07.50.27_2, it's been faster and absolutely stable. No more freezing/"Sleep of Death"/etc...

That one really annoys me too. Still can't find a way to get video and audio in sync without manually adjusting the offset whilst encoding. And HTC still can't get the hang of getting Audiomanager to handle AAC files properly (ie sort albums in track order, or show.their album art). Still, it's a lot quicker than my Touch Pro was ; )
Yeap! I'm very happy that I could be refunded. Too many bugs for such a device.
^
If you want something that works out the box, get an iPhone
I have none of your issues and i can prove it with tests and videos.
I wish i had an "unlike" button to use it here. You are frustrated because either you don't know how to work with this phone or you have some bad software or even a bad phone. Replace it!
You are emitting false statements here!
PS: I have the phone for 2 months.
I'd love to see a phone or device that was perfect.
Every piece of hardware has its own problems.
I've been waiting for so long for someone to start a thread entitled as "Let's face it: HD2 has many problems". Eagerly watching this thread for some positive and negative input.
All in all, HTC Sense is at it infant stage. This "is" the culprit. Perhaps by end of this year, we will worship it someday...
To the developer/creator of HTC Sense, please use your common "sense" when trying to convince people to buy your idea. The first major mistake was SMS failure. Totally non-Sense.
1. have to say the WiFi (at work) is slow (2.2Mbps) but speedtest.net is SO unreliable I'll hold off commenting until I try at home tonight on my O2 LLU connection.
2. never had it
3. doesn't happen to me, currently got 107MB free of storage and 266MB of program memory free
4. other than Twitter client being a bit crap it's fine
5. mine doesn't crash
6. updates are fine but I've not had any of the issues others have had in the first place, less so now running a custom ROM
Return your phone and get an iphone/android device.
This kind of issues, even if I haven't myself had most of those you list, have been around with EVERY WM phone that has been made.
Of course WM is far from perfect, but as someone already said to me the advantages far outweigh them, and I can live with them and the need for tweaking.
1) Wifi speed, show me one phone that can transfer at full G speed. The processing power/memory bandwidth/flash memors speed can't handle that.
It also depends a LOT of the software used.
I do get 1-1.5MB/s (8-12Mbps) transfer on wifi between the HD2 and one of my home computers, with WiFi remote access, and on balanced wifi performance. With Resco explorer, I get 150kB/s...
2) Never had one.
3) Depends... could be just normal, now that the album and browser caches have reached their limits, and would stop there. Stock ROM has a lot of useless stuff on it.
etc...

Sense is fine, but the vanilla Win6.5 fails hard.
And if this thread gets to about page 5, it would probably just turn into another Leo vs iPhone flame war.
For the WiFi "problem": ~ 2 MByte /s is just the normal average speed, even with my laptop I won't get much more on 802.11g .. It also depends on with how many other devices you share your WiFi-channel.

What is manila win6.5?!?! Do you even know what manila is? manila = sense!!!
I think there are a lot of 'duff' units, this must be the case with the 'sleep of death' and the crackley call as many of had it but most don't.
I took mine back, got a new one yesterday, no crackles no sleep of death... yet
But true, there are always gonna be problems, it will take months before a near perfect firmware, sorry, rom is out
Thank god for my HTC HD2. No problem here beside the screen shaking. But I hardly notice it.

SonyEricsson Satio, for example. I download at 900Kb/s with it on the same network (using the same browser, Opera Mobile 10 Beta 3). Poor implementations doesn't mean it's not possible. Do we need 4Ghz quad core processors to use a wireless g network? Obviously not.

A bad behaviour, even when happens at factory settings is still a bad behaviour. You have a strange definition of "normal". Surely a phone that in 20 days saturate all the available space on the rom cannot be considered "normal". It's a poor implementation of things. A good implementation would have addressed it from the start by allowing the user WHERE to store that files or giving him an option to clear that files without an hard reset. No, it's not normal. Software design it's a much more complicated thing than those "normal" things.
You know you have problems when your best programs are Hd2tweaks, Bsbtweaks and Resco registry editor. And you are continually wiping out your system and trying new roms. Although Xannytech evolution was a good one.

Seriously preformance issues

Hi.
I have to soft reset my HD2 all the time because it often lags too much.
I will now list the things which makes me wanna reset my device:
- The HD2 lags so badly, that most actions take up to 5 seconds.
- One application can crash (mostly HTC_Messaging), and I have to soft reset.
- When I write messages, the keyboard has a input lag of 5-10 seconds.
- Screen wont turn on when I push the buttons
- The device wont unlock when I slide the slider, it just stops up.
Now this happens each time I upgrade my ROM, and I am currently using Artemis now.
The programs I've installed each time is:
- FingerKeyboard
- Touch X reset and wifi
- Touch X button icon in messaging
and now I use WMLongLife also.
My SD-card is an 8GB card.
So if someone could help me, I would be happy.
(Sorry for bad english.)

Start again. Install nothing and just configure settings.
Does it run slow and crash then?
If so you have problem that could be harware.
Try another ROM and if the same then I think you need to return the unit.
If all runs fine on a clean, vanilla phone then you are doing something in the install process that is causing the instability.
Try installs one by one to the phone mem and check operation each time.
NB. Some background info would have been helpful. ROM version, Model etc!

The problem is that I can't predict when its gonna happen. It can happen randomly, and then I have to restart the phone. After the restart, everything works normal and perfect.
This can happen upto three times a day, some days it wont happen at all.
Currently using 2.10.531.7 Artemis, but this also happens with the stock ROM. The newest one that is. My radio version is 2.06.51.07
Its kinda difficult to run things vanilla phone, cause the applications I use, I need.
for me htc messaging has never crashed...
i suggest you to flash a stock rom, 1.66 for example and try it without the sent button.
if there are still problems, u can try using mtty or send it back for repair...
edit: i had the problem where the phone was freezing while loading for a long time (over night), and the display won´t turn on. Switched back to manually update Facebook, Twitter and Weather, and had no more problems since...

Well I think its crashing.
That's what I usually use when I lock the screen. So sometimes when I try to unlock it, I just get half of the messaging program or nothing, on screen. And I cant do anything.
When I try to click the Home-button, it respons in some seconds and Home-screen is all laggy.

When you lock the phone apps still run in the back ground as if asleep and when you unlock they attempt to restore themselves as they were before the lock.
You have something clashing installed and that is calling the registry at the same time as something else. Remember when windows full size used to do it?.
I think you have a badly written piece of software installed (either preloaded or installed by yourself) and suggesting starting from vanilla is a way to issolate it!
i've also had similar problems as you. after hard reseting a couple of times, i noticed that the intermittent lag began after i started syncing my phone to my PC and myphone. it turns out that my terrible management of appointments, messages and contacts was the root of my problem (several duplicates of everything, and almost 5000 text messages). i suggest you attempt to work your phone a couple days without loading up any PIM information, archive messages and remove duplicates (sktools is excellent at doing this)
i suggest you do something similar, it really helps. i was able to get my device to prrform as well as when i still had the vanilla ROM
best of luck! your device is better than you think!
Also, use the Task Manager, and close applications that you don't use, especially the Internet browser and applications that use data connection. These ones can really block the phone when connection is intermittent.
Yet again, I'm left dumbfounded by claims of "serious" issues with this device. I just don't understand how almost everyone has a "story" regarding the HTC HD2 being SLOW or LAGGY. Fortunately for me, I haven't soft reset my unit in 46h 5m 19s and everything is still running flawlessly.
your phone sounds faulty or something. for me.. even with the Stock 1.66 ROM i had, it was working pretty fast n smooth. now with Dutty's ROM, its faster n smoother than ever. i love this beast
I never have these problem! I used Official or Clean EX HQ roms and never got these problem!
Try a Task 29 and flash with 1.66 Official or Most popular Cook ROM
Pa49: I have only installed the programs which I have listed in the first post. I guess im not the only one using them.
Kev007: I usually have a lot of textmessages when I dont delet them, but thats max 2000. I dont sync my phone with my computer, so no uneccessary contacts or something either. Dont even use calendar, so have no appointments.
Reignzone: It is really bad. It can happen upto three times a day, and I just cant use the phone at all. Just sliding the home-screen to see all my shortcuts takes maybe 10 seconds. I could film it with a camcorder next time it happens so people could see.
The same thing happens each time I've installed a ROM. So it has clearly something to do with the phone and not with the software I've installed.

I get lags too when twitter is updating in the background. You would think a 1ghz processor could do two things at once
Backup your miscrosd. Try a microsd format. Restore your data. See if this helps.
T-Mo US HD2, still completely stock. I was having some issues with sluggish animations, applied many of the tweaks in the sticky threads here, things got better. However, it was super super slow to switch into some applications (SMS *always*, others occasionally).
Eventually I wondered about that fancy Swype keyboard and tried switching back to the full qwerty. All that disappeared and it moves like lightning now, I have to say.
I haven't played with updating Swype or maybe at least loading a ROM without it that I can do a regular install on top of. However, right now I don't miss it .
Lag issues
I have no idea what is causing your issues, but if it travels from one rom to the next, it may be your sd card.
I had an issue with lag in swype and other apps.
I noticed when I popped out the sd card the device instantly unfroze.
I then copied all files except App data and reformatted the sd.
No issues after that.
Hope this helps.

Bing shuts down and sometimes crashes with stock T-Mobile USA HD2 Rom.

I've googled this problem an no one else seems to have it. I'm presently running the stock T-Mobile HD2 ROM (2.10.531.1) and have downloaded the Bing application directly from the Windows Marketplace. When I'm using Bing for navigation it sometimes crashes (rarely) but mostly just shuts down (always). I immediately go in to task manager and see that Bing has shut off completely for no apparent reason. I don't really want to flash a new ROM right now because I misplaced my unlock code and am still stuck with at&t. I suspect it may be a problem with the ROM, but really have no idea what's causing the problem. No other programs display this behavior and I have no problems whatsoever with the phone or OS. Any insight into this problem anyone? Thanks in advance.
I'm on a stock 2.13 ROM and Bing does crash/close on me occasionally. It's inconvenient when it does, because you have to start it up, choose your last destination, etc.
Try uninstalling the app and then reinstalling it again.
@p_synthesis
Thanks for the response. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the application a few times through a Bing cab that was floating at XDA and have also done the same with the Bing app directly from the marketplace and I get the same problems. I have also installed on the storage card and on the internal memory, and still the same problem. Well at least I know I'm not the only one with the problem. This is a fairly major problem as it causes a major inconvenience when using the navigation.
Yeah, mine is doing the same thing, HD2 is stock except for cookies. Although, strangely I was using the navigation today for couple of hours and it didn't crash once. Sometimes seems to get hung up when losing signal momentarily at the same time it needs to do a reroute, although in that instance the app locks up but doesn't disappear. I've only had bing navigation for a few days but as long as doesn't crash too often, and Microsoft puts a little more time into this app to polish it up a little it will be something handy to have. Things they can add to Bing I would like would be to display the current speed with the posted speed limit, options on font sizes, and API to allow other meta data to be displayed if available (speed traps etc). However, I think when Google gets around to adding navi to the WM platform they will have the product to beat. I have a Garmin Nuvi now which I pretty much utterly despise hence I will be using my HD2 for navigation for the time being using Bing. I definitely need to get a adapter for car use though as the HD2 really sucks down the power, even more when the GPS is active.
Problems with Bing turn by turn with voice navigation.
Don't feel bad. Bing has died on me regularly while using voice turn by turn directions on both the stock rom and on elegencia......my theory is it's getting to areas of no net signal, panics and the program exits...would seem to me the stupid program could cache the whole trips from the beginning or at least give a friggin beep when it's gonna die and offer to "resume" from where it left off on restart. Sometimes I give up and just have it print me the directions....been eyeing google maps more and more.
Bing shuts down on HD2.
Thanks for your replies gentlemen. Thing is I never had this problem on my HTC Touch Pro. I was running an NRG WM 6.5 ROM on that Touch Pro and never encountered one single problem with Bing, whether it was a 5 min route or 200+ road trip. I find it amazing that such a popular/useful app on the Windows Marketplace is so glitchy with such an important and popular device. BTW I too have Cookies Home Tab, but I shut down Sense and run SPB Mobile Shell and still have problems with Bing. I will flash to an NRG ROM in two weeks, and will report then.
i have been having the same problem on my tilt 2. the only time i have been able to get it to work is when i have a stock rom or close to stock. if its a rom that can recognize my phone as a tilt 2 bing navigation always works great. i can never get it to work on energy roms : ( m.bing.com wont even load right on energy roms cause the site cant tell what phone im using. drives me crazy cause i love the energy roms but i really want to use bing!
I have been having the same problem as well. Closes after about 10-30 seconds of navigation. Stock rom with tmobile HD2.
Uninstalling and reinstalling bing fixed it for a day, now nothing I can do fixes it.
Been using waze as a secondary, but I would love to find a fix for this.
Bing gets update, maybe fixes crashes?
I just installed the latest version of Bing which can be found at this link (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...ce-cadd-4c37-b3a6-14b7d72626f0&displayLang=en). I haven't had a chance to test the navigation because I'm at the office, but everything else runs very smooth even after toying around with it for about 5 minutes (previous version stalled or shut down on my HD2).
I've only been using the latest version for a very short time, but so far it seems to be much better. I used to get a crash basically every time I used the turn by turn. I was using it quite a bit today, and not one crash. Hopefully that will continue. I'd definitely recommend updating to the latest version if you haven't already. Can't find anything new in the latest version though. Anyone find a change log?
Peace
Dan
Crashes on latest Bing update
Hate to report that on my way back from home Bing crashed during navigation on the latest update. It was fine for about 15 minutes, then the screen froze and I couldn't exit the application. I had to perform a soft reset. This is really frustrating and only reinforces my hatred towards Microsoft for releasing such buggy ****.
I've noticed this too, however, for me it seems to only happen when the phone becomes hot. As soon as the phone cools down it works fine for me. If you have AC in your car hold it in front of the air vent for about 30 seconds and soft reset and it will work fine. As long as it is kept cool it wont shut down.
Also try using navigation without plugging the phone into a car charger as it seems to generate a lot of internal heat while charging. Besides you should get 2-3 hours of navigation if you start with a full charge and that should be more then adequate for most trips.
I don't know why it shuts down automatically but this seems to work for me
Alternatives.
I haven't tested extensively but the Dutty N4S Legacy HD2 ROMS seem very stable with Bing. Here's the link (http://htcpedia.com/htc_dutty_legacy/reviews/rom-builds.html). Or you can try an Android build and use Google Maps navigation, also extremely stable and a pleasure to use and explore. Here's the link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787189).
I have the same problems with both bing and google map, the phone reboot itself after about 10-15 minutes of navigation, I have latest stock ROM with original SPL, OS: 5.2.21913, Radio 2.15.50.14. I have no additional application installed.
I believe this hardware issue since i know many people has the same annoying problem.

[Q] Legend lags after about 2 days [solved]

Hi,
I've searched this forum and google for this problem but couldn't get an answer so far. My Legend isn't rooted and I'm using 2.05.405.2. Always after about 2 days my phone gets really laggy. For example pulling down statusbar can take up to 20 seconds until it reacts. Also when I get an incoming call, picking up can last up to 10 seconds. The only way to resolvethis so far is to reboot the phone, but thats exactly what I don't want. I tried several taskkillers without success, I then tried without any taskkillers, too. Also same behaviour. I just have a few apps installed:
- JuiceDefender
- Opera
- ES File Explorer
- MixZing
- Handcent
- Facebook
- SystemPanel Lite
- K9
I tried to get into SystemPanelLite when the phone gets laggy to see what process this is causing, but without any success. I'm really puzzled as I don't understand, why the system is getting laggy up to an unusable amount. I'm not a poweruser who is playing around every 5 minutes with his phone, just writing and reading some SMS, taking a look at facebook and reading and writing mails. Is this a common problem with the legend and everybody is used to it or is this a problem that only hits me for whatever reason? Oh, yes, the problem also existed with older firmware, too.
No such problem in my legend
My legend is very smooth

same here. No such problem in my Legend, it is too smooth.
Legend is known to be a snappy handset.
How much free memory do you have ?
Did you try uninstalling any third party apps to see if any of that is causing the trouble?
Thanks for the answers. I uninstalled now k9, JuiceDefender and ES File Manager, as these are the only one, that I have installed always from the beginning. I'll report back, if that helped.
have you got the facebook contacts bug where you've got about 50,000 duplicated contacts?

No, facebook runs just fine with contact-synchronisation and all.

It happened even to me during the first start-up. I decided to reset completely the phone and make a clean start-up. I believe you should very carefully during the first sync of gmail, facebook, etc. Leave the time to the Legend to sync properly and install one application behind the other.
After that my Legend is working fine
As I upgraded to the first 2.xxx firmware, I had it resettet to defaults, as I did the upgrade via USB. As far as I remember, synchronisation was done when I began to install apps. But I think, if the deinstallation of the mentioned applications doesn't resolve this issue, I will try to reset it, too...
I had similar behavior, when installing that Facebook update last week. Besides the published battery drain the phone became laggy and unresponsive. The dialer sometimes took 10 seconds to react! Sometimes I could not even take a call. The patch that came after to improve the battery drain didn't fix the lag issue for me.
So I uninstalled the complete facebook update via application menu and voila! No more lag. Everything is as snappy as before. Not even a reboot was required.
I just uninstalled the fb updates out of interest and my Legend was much quicker! Reinstalling the updates and it's still quick. I didn't notice the slowdown before. Thanks!
After uninstalling k9, JuiceDefender, ES File Manager and facebook updates along with disabling facebook for android, so that there is only facebook for sense there, these are the results after 2 days so far:
- phone is snappy as if it was turned on 5 minutes ago
- battery-life is much better! Without JuiceDefender it was about 8-10 hours with very slight usage, up to 36 hours with JuiceDefender... today, after over 42 hours my battery is at 32%, I played games, wrote some SMS, took some pictures and had a short call
So it has to be one of the above mentioned apps. From what I read up until now, my closest bet is the facebok-app, that could be interfering with facebook for sense. I will now reinstall k9, JuiceDefender an ES File Manager and report back again in about 2 days.
Edit: It seems to be that k9 is the reason for the lags... just some minutes after installing and configuring k9 I noticed some lag with scrolling in lists, uninstalled it again and the lag was gone...
Update:
I installed the updates for FB again and I'm using it as before. The phone is still very snappy, no sign of slowdowns. Next I will test JuiceDefender.
After testing a lot with uninstalling all apps and then step by step reinstalling I found the problem: It seems that JuiceDefender triggered for whatever reason the lag after about 2 days. At the moment I also don't have a need to reinstall it, as from my testings I found out, that my battery lasts for 2 days without JuiceDefender, with JuiceDefender it was just 4-5 hours more. This is with fb-updates hourly, gps always on, 2 IMAP-Accounts that are qurried via push, some sms a day and about half an hour telephone, slight internet browsing.
Glad to hear your phone is running better. As a side note, I still use Juice Defender but an old version 1.7.7 The development seemed to go off the rails after this version and i was not happy with any other the updates so I am sticking with this older version.
Still get about 2x the battery life using it.
I also having same problem and available free memory keeps on reducing . Though i installed juicedefender, i never uses that and kill using system panel. Will uninstall and check for 2 days

What's the difference? What's new in this ROM?
It's just a US based firmware I think.
Its for Canadian users of I5800L. Probably Latin American countries too....
Anyone know if this rom is for the 3 galaxy i5800L of Brazil, if there is any blockage in this rom is yes or any other kind, since I'm using the European Roma JPF, and I'm scared to update this with my phone and brik
was very grateful for whoever can help
Thanks Clarkkov, the rom works perfectly, improved GPS, WIFI, the speed of app, and did not change my programs do not run a hard reset. The only catch is that for anyone in Brazil there is no language PT-PT or PT-BR.

Hello, sorry is my question is trivial, but i tested many other roms but i can flash this one, afeter oding reboots my phone, there's a recovery mode screen saying E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 and i tried 3 times, same results, so i'd like ask how you flashed correctly, thank you very much
I used this ROM in my GT-i5800L (from Vivo In Brazil) and my experience was not one of the best.
For starters, lots of the bugs I have seen in other Froyo releases are still there:
The alarm clock bug (if say it is 7:00PM and you want to set an alarm clock for the next day at 8:00AM, it automatically sets it for 8:00AM on the current day of the week, in other words it sets the alarm for 6 days and 13 hours, rather than in 13 hours) this becomes a problem because you have to manually change the days.
During a call, if you use the sensor the screen turns off, but when the screen turns back on after you apart it from your ear, the notification bar lights up green. This isn't a problematic bug, but it just shows an unfinished look and feel.
Rooting is a problem (z4Root does not work) and after rooting with SuperOneClick, the phone becomes slow, and even after installing busybox, there are noticeable differences.
GPS still takes forever to get a lock, when it actually does.
The camera can take only one photo. If you try to take a second shot without first leaving the camera, 80% of the times, the camera will lock up, show a green screen and/or force close.
The supposedly improved memory management of Froyo also doesn't become apparent. The included task manager doesn't show you running first party programs, just third party... Although clearing the memory is a bad thing for Android (you should only kill active programs if they are really slowing the phone down. Killing programs kills the battery life), you cannot do a thing to control it. The only option you are left with is wiping Level 1 and Level 2 memory, killing ALL active programs. If you want to SELECT which programs you want to kill, they have to be third-party programs.
Downloadable task managers seem to have little effect, since Froyo changes the way you can kill apps belonging to Android (first-party).
Because of the poor management, listening through Bluetooth is impossible, since the audio fades every 10 - 20 seconds because the phone neeeds to think. I first thought it was an AudioTuning issue, but then I tried launching a heavy app while playing music via BT, and the problem becomes evident.
Also, whenever I connect to bluetooth in my car, my in call volume gets dropped down to 50%. That's okay, because there would be too much noise coming from the car speakers, but when I disconnect my bluetooth, I expect my volume to be taken back up where it originally was. Eclair did not solve this, Froyo promised to solve it, but in any of the firmwares I've tried, have they actually done anything about it.
I previously had installed JPF and JPM with similar issues as listed above. By installing an American version I thought battery life would be greater, since it wouldn't have to be searching for 3G on frequencies of 3G not used in American countries. Although my battery life was better than JPF and JPM, my original firmware (streamlined with only actual useful apps and etc. - if you want to take a look at streamlining look for my post Streamlined Apps for 2.1 / 2.2) works better than any other firmware I have used (including Kyrillos and Apocalypse).
I miss the GPS button on the notification drop bar, and the Google groups in my contacts. But rather than that, I see no way where Froyo beats Eclair...
Mind you I don't use tethering, VPN, do not play heavy games (as I feel consoles and computers are there for that kind of thing - I just have light games installed like Air Control, Zuma, Labyrinth, etc.. to pass the time), turn off my wifi and bluetooth when not in use, leave my brightness to a minimum unless I can't see (then i turn brightness up), but have 3G running all the time, bluetooth whenever I am in the car, and Wi-Fi whenever I need to use the web and am near a known wi-fi antenna.
Battery Life (with indications above):
I5800LVIJG7 (2.1 Vivo) - 60 Hours
I5800LVIJG8 (2.1 TICO?) - 56 Hours
I5800DTLKDA (2.2 Free) - 35 Hours
JPM /JPF / Kyrillos / Apocalypse / Lestatious - 18 to 25 Hours
Hope that helps...
My advice.. stick with what you have...
Good morning, I tried other rom tb's but found this the best, my battery lasts around 2 days using wifi and 3G, I liked this rom, my GPS was fast after I turn on my GPS the following, the squeegee GPSFIXS with 1 minute and it fixed my location from GPS point of 100% with 3 to 18 meters of accuracy.
I would like to return to the rom VIVO because I believe that new skirt rom soon
I Flashed this rom, but the apks: gpssetup2 and fmradio aren't in the rom.
I copied fmradio.apk from I5800XXJPS and worked, but the gpssetup.apk didn't work. Because this my GPS don't work.
Anyone help me to solve my GPS problem in this rom?
