They are everywhere... search the rom section of this forum for roms. Search the Windows Mobile Apps and HD2 Apps sections of this forum for apps and games. Also google or whatever search engine you prefer can find many, many apps and games.

that's cool i want that
that is really nice
HTC IphoneCube
I have pretty much the same except for the IPHONE Emulator, mines looks better.
It's actually pretty easy.. But before you starts, your phone MUST be CiD Unlocked.. After doing that, you pretty much look for the Airgov WM6 ROM which has the touchflo and cube in it. After you install it to your phone, basically pick one of the IPHONE Emulators in this site and install it. Be aware that most of the emulators are flash programs so you would need to install Flashlite into your phone aswell. Iphone emulator doesnt start automatically when you turn your phone ON, you would still need to open it manually since it is still a file(which the guy from the video failed to show).
And there you have it. HTC IphoneCube. Have fun.

I'm currently back on the HTC ROM but I would assume you can still run any of the home replacements from the market (or just the default android one) on MoDaCo.
do you know any good ones?

It's really a preference thing, there's no harm in installing any one of them and seeing if you like'em. Sense really is the better fit for me.
Some of the major ones are:
- OpenHome
- aHome
-dxTop
- PandaHome
...that's just off the top of my head some of the ones I've tried. They each have some cool and unique things about them.
Once i figure what can me skinned and how i will be making themes. Not sure if i will post any, as i must have made at least 100 themes for S2U2 for personal use when i had my WinMo phones. If i did do one to post it would more than likely be a Danbo (Danboard) theme.
I just discovered that little guy and i already outfitted my chompSMS with several wallpapers of him.

aHome Lite made my Hero so laggy i could hardly use it. It took me like 10 minutes just to get it uninstalled.
Also, when i was searching for OpenHome i couldnt find the actual program, only themes. Anyone know the official app name?
lol if you figure out how to make a theme you should defiently make me one

I didn't have much trouble with aHome, odd.
Any home replacement will be difficult to find on the market if there's a bunch of themes with the name in it sadly.
I almost forgot a few more too:
- Freshface
- GDE (though I don't know if this one is out yet)
As for OpenHome, fire up that barcode scanner and go here:
http://www.androidtapp.com/open-home/ It has QR codes to scan and will take you straight to the market app.
which one do you think looks the best? and is the fastest

I thought I recognized you from PPCG!
I used to have a Diamond and even made a few ROMs using some of the great kitchens available. It would be awesome if there were some kind of kitchen for the Hero. Hell, I might even give it a try then...just don't tell my wife, she thinks I quit cooking.
lol you got the hero too?

There is a kitchen, its called Android SDK and you can use it with eclipse. all you need to do is go grab the source from htc and compile it the way you want to and load it up with eclipse. or the android emulator. there is other steps but thats what google is for. i am working on my own rom right now. cant wait till its done. i am wondering how fast a bone stock rom would run.
I would be ur number one fan for a bone stock Android with hero support. I'd even go as far as to say it would be the base most custom roms are based off of.
I'm not a programmer but if u go through with this is there any way to twist cryogen's work into it? He gets great reviews and the update utility is pretty pimp

Alright!

misc. things about hd2

hey everyone, nice to meet you all, been lurkin' these forums since i got my t-mobile dash on its release day.
but anyways i've got a few questions and comments
what is the most popular and most highly supported custom rom? would it be Kumars? - what roms are the fastest?
-i have bsb tweaks and c00kie on my phone. my phone will 'wake' on a new text and if i try to unlock it before i get the notification (but after it waking) it'll freeze up. its pretty exasperating
-is it my fault? i'm almost always constantly on my phone and it seems that every phone i ever own tends to lag or lock up from time to time, i wonder if im.. 'doing too much' with it.. but i wouldn't expect such a powerful phone as this..

I think energyrom might be the most popular. I would suggest searching youtube for HD2 ROM review, or something like that. You'll see a couple reviews showing each and you'll be able to decide for yourself.

No, it's not your fault, it happens to the best of us. BTW, the lighter ROMs like energy seem to do less of that than the stock. I think it's kind of like buying a PC with a bunch of bloatware, a lean OS always runs faster and more stable.
On the same vain, I have a Droid, a 3gs and the HD2, and I must say the HD2 lags and freezes the most, followed by the Droid and the the Iphone is the most stable, even after jail-breaking and modifying it extensively. I attribute this to the tight integration of the OS and hardware, unlike Android and WiMo which have different OS and Hardware manufacturers, and thus leads to bloat and incompatibilities.

NRG's roms are really good too. Come pre-loaded with a lot of apps. Great on the eyes (eye candy ) and very fast. Are you running the stock rom right now (that you are experiencing the lockups with) ?

Anyone know how to make opera load mobile versions of sites like youtube? Every time I check the setting to load mobile sites, it loads a funky version of the site. It will not actually load the mobile site as I can see it's not in the URL. I can type in the URL "www.m.youtube.com" but it never does it by default. Is there a setting to set in the opera config to fix this? My main reason for fixing is I would love to have youtube links sent to me in email open the youtube app but it requres the mobile version of youtube to load in opera.

Going to start my own ROM

So, with all these ROM's flying around, i am deciding to create my own. But i have One big question, is there really any reason for me to? Seeing as there are already so many good ones out there, would mine be welcome with open arms and tested by people? Am just curious before i start cooking.

Do your best and post it. People will try it.

Alright, ty Im installing the kitchen setup now, so ill get to work on a sense based ROM first before i dive into a vanilla ROM(which i prefer)
Its always better to have more choices I believe. And who knows, you might become the next American ROM Cook.
welcome to the wonderful world of ROM creating..have fun, test, trial and error everything u compile..and who knows just like Kevlar said..
u may very well be the next American ROM Chef
if you finish that sense rom try and put htc widgets on a non sense rom! that would be so freaking cool!!!

Hehe, I'll bet if you make it "cool" enough looking and show this in screenshots, some people will try it on that alone.
And like mentioned regarding 3rd-party apps, even though they are "free", their license doesn't always allow anyone to freely distribute them.

Put me on the list of testers if you need anymore
ok, so, ive made some alterations, apps, launcher ect, and wated to load it up and test it, well when i went to flash it, it said cant find.....(bad), any ideas?
Ill be more than happy to help you test this ROM out...
I'll also test for any up and coming devs out there. but i will give you guys some tips on which roms i choose and why.
1. Everything has to work. I use my exchange email, gps, wifi and maps on a regular basis.
2. I love having the ability to overclock but i dont really see a point for ridiculous frequencies. Its not like i'm running a gaming server from my phone. I have the ability to overclock to 825 mhz and still be stable with my current rom but i keep it at 710 for my battery life.
3. I love having different launchers, lock screens, status bars and things like that but live wallpapers are a no go. Every time i touch a live wallpaper my phone freezes and reboots.
Right now i am using ic3rom 2.7 because everything works and it has wired tethering.
If you guys can create a rom that everything works and do some extensive photoshopping it is almost guaranteed to be a hit.
Hit me up on andirc.net #droideris
I'm lurking occasionally. But I'd love to even get involved in cooking up some roms with DS36 or chaous2000
I'm d33d in the chat, and I'm available at alexinslc [attttt] gmail [dottttt] com
Isn't that what open source is about? I'm no master of code, but I can learn fast.
Also, my eris is open to testing roms with very similar guidelines (must have exchange, gmail, txting, and phone.) that's about it. Would like 3G and Wifi if possible.

Windows phone games for android?

I had a lot of laugh when one of my friend ignored my advice and bought a windows phone, then found he had far less available apps on the windows market. However, after I had played the games from his phone, I am hooked to the games included originally with the phone.
Check this out : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15788078
Come on, angry birds, ninja fruit? I hardly find any good games on the play market. But the "logic games" are so fun on the windows phone! Anyway to get it to android phones??
No way other than ask that game's dev politely if they interested in porting it to android.

They would have to be like BlackBerry somehow in terms app compatibility, I can't think of what you suggest though.
