Hey there.
I've just had my phone rooted the other day and have a Custom ROM that my friend gave to me for download and I'm just looking for another GOOD ROM
for my to try out.
If you have one, or know of a good one that would work on my myTouch 3G,
please comment with a link! :]
Thanks,

I guess ill say this before someone else does which magic do you have???
do you he 32a or 32b version???
also the forums here are filled with ROMS depending on what you want to do with your phone no rom is perfect do you want an everyday ROM or do you want a new rom that you will have to constantly upgrade?
Also what radio and or spl do you have
I have a 32B =o
I'm running superd, since your pottery noob, you'll want to stick with either superd or cyanogens roms, their easy to upgrade with the cm updater.

So I was looking at the cyanogen wiki and noticed that the 32A magic had to use the exact same port files for their roms as I do on my Rogers Dream for Cyanogen. I really want to try Eclair. Can I just use a Magic 32A rom on my Dream?
32A has more RAM & ROM so no you cant install the actual rom that was given as a OTA to Magic users. You can go to Rogers and ask to buy a Magic if you want.Or get a hero rom from here and stick with it.
there are hero ROMs for EBI1?

Oops, nope you have to stick with cyan or enom. No one has made one for EB11 yet.
So i have a g1 rooted. But i want to upgrade and have 375 dollars to put towards a phone. can you root the new mytouch 1.2 and are the roms for it worth it? with the extra ram id like to run a sense or espresso rom, but if they are not 100% i do like cyanogen roms. Is it worth the upgrade ? and should i get the 32A phone since it has more ram? will all of the mytouch / ion /magic /saphire phones work on tmobile 3G???
And thanks allot for any help guys
well all mt3g 1.2's are 32a but not in the tradtional sense your used to.
Yes you can root it and run most roms that you were running on your g1 they have been ported. I am running a 2.1 no problem as for sense ui no idea i hate those roms but i believe they work just fine.

Since the HTC legend recently got Android 2.2 Froyo w/ sense, is there going to be someone to port the rom to the Slide?
I love the functionality of sense but I don't want to have to downgrade to eclair to get it.
So if anybody knows about work being done on that or if someone wants to volunteer, please inform me and anyone else who passes by this thread
Its gonna have the same problems as the 3rd sense rom because we don't have the official 2.2 kernel for mytouch slide! Which means I don't think anyone is going to port it! Check out 3rd sense though its stable enough and is the same sense ui

yep, and actually i think 3rd sense is based on a froyo sense rom for the legend called gratiend so thats your rom right there, at least thats what the credits on the thread say..
I am currently running cyanogen mod 6.1 stable for my slide with clockwork recovery. Do I need to flash/install anything else before flashing this rom?

Nope, all you need to do is a wipe before installing it so you dont get any weird errors
Okay thanks I will flash it, froyo aside, are there any REALLY good stable sense roms out there? Not espresso roms but original HTC sense? flash would be nice

this one has flash lite as well... and as far i know this is the best sense based rom you can find for the slide go ahead try it and tell us what you think
Oh man it works amazingly, I had to disable javascript for the browser to run alright though. Otherwise it is an amazing rom. I ran into some less than polite stuff when I posted in the thread, but I suppose I am a noob. Thanks for the suggestion.

i want STABLE and fast and smooth roms. mostly looking for sense roms. its ok with bluetooth or camera bugs. but every thing has to work. like all the widgets are there including people widget.

thanks very much. i appreciate xda!
Sapphire - MT3G Fender & 1.2 ROMS
The only Sense ROM I'm aware of is based on the MT3G Slide and can be found here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=673503
Ginger Yoshi has gotten decent reviews by Fender owners. It can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=673503
There are also stock Froyo mods with custom kernels and streamlined app loads in the works from what I've heard.
You can flash ROM's from the G1 forum. There are a few with Sense there.

im aware of that. but, wat if it specifies the radio? or i just flash and it will work.
any kernals i have to flash if i want one?
If it specifies a radio, no. You don't have to install any kernels. Make sure you do a nandroid backup before flashing so that if the ROM doesn't work you can restore your backup.
thanks for quick replies. ummm any sense roms tht work for mytouch 1.2/fender without a2sd? and is fast and stable?
I have one of the old original T-Mobile G1 phones that I unlocked and am using with AT&T. I've been digging through piles and piles of web pages talking about ROMs and SuperAOSP, Gingerbread, etc.
Is there a website that is current that has the latest and greatest firmware and OS that can be installed on an old G1 that has step-by-step instructions? I'm a noob to flashing ROMs and such so I need detailed instructions on how to do all this.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. (Keep 'em clean tho.)
Thanks.
Dep what yer looking for ever version has its good roms I use anything from donut to gb pm if u wanna talk I could help ya I'm on att to lol

if you decide you want to run froyo or a sense rom i suggest latest radio 2.22.28.25 and hboot 1.33.0013d, you can use froyobylazlo, which is easily the best froyo rom hands down!! and xillius200 droid eris rom is lightning fast great stable rom and he is currently keeping it up to date still fixing any issues anyone might have.. if you need help on any of these i will send you in the right direction.. sorry there's no guide that your looking for. kinda just have to search around the forum and find your way, but ask the right people and we will help!
