working bluetooth - Hero, G2 Touch General

Why there isn't bluetooth working in any rom i've tried?
i mean..i can't pairing phone-pc or phone-phone...why???

I assume you've tried some cupcake ROMs (like Modaco) and not just eclair ROMs? Eclair will continue to have bluetooth issues until we get the official update from HTC.
That being said, I haven't had much in the way of problems with bluetooth, running VillainROM 5.1.
Are you able to scan for devices? What happens when you try and pair? Do you get any errors?
(I'd be willing to bet it's a hardware problem, but maybe not...)

no, i haven't try with cupcake xD
With 2.1 rom's i can find device but medieval bluetooth transfer give me an uuid error...

Try it with a cupcake ROM. I recommend Modaco. If it works in cupcake, it'll probably work once we have the HTC eclair update.

Ignore me if I'm being silly but didn't the 1.x branch of Android come with BlueZ 3.x and an incomplete bluetooth stack (as in: missing features like the ones needed for OBEX file transfer?).
If so, I'd reckon you need 2.x to get BlueZ 4.x, working file transfers (please tell me they *did* add that in the 2.x series) but unless the bluetooth drivers are fully functional you will end up with the other half of the equation... Which would bring the problem back to the much needed HTC upgrade...
Update: I just found out what Medieval is and found the following on their help page:
Furthermore some phones such as HTC Hero, Galaxy and Behold II may not be able to use this if they have software lower than 2.0 (Eclair) as the bluetooth drivers are broken on those lower software levels.

So I still might be right... Or it is a completely different problem...

OK, if the medieval help page says that, then it definitely won't work until we have an official ROM from HTC. All our current ROMs, both cupcake and eclair, use the cupcake bluetooth drivers. When we have the update, the OP's chances are much better that his device will work.

AKU 3.2

OK so I'm reading this forum and I'm seeing a lot of people referring to AKU 3.2 - I'm using 2.0 so I thought "this sounds interesting", I surf on over to Microsofts website and through their Windows Mobile section get to their Wiki, which refers to every AKU version up to 3.0... (http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/articles/wm-aku-en.shtml) and their list of AKUs only lists up to 3.0.1... (http://channel9.msdn.com/wiki/default.aspx/MobileDeveloper.ListOfAKUs)
So what am I missing here and where can I find a listing of everything in this AKU?
Lastly anyone have any idea when this is going to be released in a manufacturers ROM? I know that we've got several BETA versions floating around the boards but I rely on my Universal for work. It's one thing to strip out stuff I don't use from the ROM but another altogether for me to switch to using a BETA!
Thanks for all your understanding and appreciate your help.

The betas are pretty stable - you can safely upgrade to them. Of course, they aren't final. (And noone knows as yet when "official" 3.x AKU ROM's are released.)
This might help.
This might help shed a little light: http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/articles/wm-aku-en.shtml
Dont worry at all as i m also using my jj for work and had recently updated it with new AKU 3.2 ROM and its already 3-4 days and its pretty flying .
So, i would personally advice u to take a look at the new rom & believe u too will like it .
OK - thanks for that - now the ultimate question...
What's the best AKU 3.2 ROM to use?
G
go for 1.90.96 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=279258
I went back from AKU 3.2 to AKU 2.0
Have had some problems with the beta ones (latest), the phoe app kept crashing and won't open until a soft reset, and yes I tried to reflash it.
And sometimes it won't connect to ActiveSync until a soft reset as well.
I'm happy with the latest official JJ ROM, and not upgrading before the official AKU 3.2 ROM is released.
Cheers.

[Q] Android 2.2

Hi,
Can I go ahead and flash the Android 2.2 OS from android developers website? Will it work?
Regards,
Mithun.
NOT DEVELOPMENT RELATED MOVED TO GENERAL
we have three 2.2 roms:
fyodor 0.7.2c
SP-froyo 2.0
SPQRom 0.4.1
all are very stable but BE AWARE: CAMERA DOESN'T WORK and there are other little bugs that are being fixed...
I did this earlier this week using the manual root method, RA-recovery & fyodor ROM. As long as you read the instructions several times before starting and have all the tools to hand, fairly straightforward process.
BUT there are some annoying niggles that may make you delay. For me, not having handsfree Bluetooth means that I can't use the 2.2 ROM as I spend a lot of time in the car. Similarily, CoPilot doesn't work on 2.2 an ALK have yet to release a patch.
IMHO the 2.2 ROM is miles better on Tattoo than 1.6 (faster, neater, smaller) but does have some outstanding issues that you need to consider before flashing.

Thanks so much for your quick reply, Albert & Maxi.... Well, my phone is just 2 weeks old. I had played around a lot with my HTC elf, which was out of warranty. I am just concerned weather it will void my tattoo's warranty. Also, could you please brief me what else doesn't work apart from the camera. I called up HTC support today and they were not really helpful in tellin me about the update for my tattoo.
According to you both, which is better, 2.1 or 2.2?
Regards,
Mithun.

I haven't used any 2.1 ROM's so can't comment but when you have rooted & RA-recovery on your phone, you can flash a ROM in a matter of minutes so you can quickly decide which version / variant is best for you.

the last version of copilot works on froyo
anyway in my opinion it's ok to choose between 1.6 or 2.2 but 2.1 is a NONSENSE 'cause camera doesn't work in 2.1 and 2.2 is faster and faster...you can install apps to sd without any patch...

Bro, I also wanted to know whether it will void the warranty since my phone is just 2 weeks old and I have a years warranty. Is there any way I can restore my phone to the original state after flashing a custom rom? I had done that on my elf before.... Where can I download stock rom for my tattoo?
Regards,
Mithun.

Yup. Just do a backup.
As for warranty, HTC might try to use that as an excuse not to fix the phone. But unless the problem is related to the rom...
Only some specific rom (the ones that do overclocking and such), are actually susceptible of causing hardware problems)
And of course, switch back to stock rom, to make sure the issue you might have is not rom related.

[Q] how do i fix or upgrade/update my g1 1.6 dream

i have a version of 1.6 on my g1 everything works and has more app feachers then the old version of 1.6 i had on it but now it dont play mp3 or mp4 how do i fix this i would like to find and put 2.2or 2.3 on my phone and keep my apps i paid for not sure how to do so i tried once to go from 1.6 to 2.2 and killed my phone it didnt work so i found the version of 1.6 i have now with the how to install that was easy to do for someone whos never done anything like this before if anyone can help in any way it would be great
my 1.6 version upgrade.android.32teeth.org/?step=1)
start here - http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=HTC_Dream
Yeah, start from there. I did it twice already for my phone, work 100%. I did it once when I flashed CM 6.0 (Froyo 2.2), secondly, when I almost bricked the phone trying to update new bootloader and radio to have working updated Froyo 2.2.1

I finaly flashed my HTC MP6900 Bell (HTC Vouge) to Android. Camera not working.

I knew I "could" flash my Bell HTC Touch just after I bought it a few years ago. I was happy , after a lot of digging with what the Windows Apps could do.
I finally decided to take the plunge this week because I had to Hard reset due to it freezing up. Seems to be a problem after a while when you have too many programs installed on the SD card.
I'm running Myn’s Warm Donut - [RLS 5 - 04/24/2010]. I grabbed this .nbh
"voguimg-240x320-2.6.32-froyo-14-01-11_14.nbh"
The camera does not work with it and according to this thread "http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-770710.html" it is a known problem with 2.6.32
I have now updated to (downgraded) 2.6.25 , the camera still will not work.
this is the error message for both .nbh versions
"The application Camera (process com.android.camera)
has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
Any help would be appreciated , I'm just learning to use Android now but I am capable of following technical steps.
http://it029000.massey.ac.nz/vogue/files/?C=M;O=D
Go there and download one of these - depending on the resolution you want:
voguimg-320x480-01-07-10.nbh
voguimg-320x428-01-07-10.nbh
voguimg-240x320-01-07-10.nbh
Any later ones are for Eclair 2.1 or Froyo 2.2
Since you're running Donut - 7/1/10 nbh should be the latest version you can use.
-------------------
edit: Looks like 7/2/10 is the last NBH you can use
As long as there is no Eclair or Froyo in the build name - it will work for donut.
If you want a great donut build - with everything working - try the one from this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728797
Download link still works on mediafire
That was a great version for me - good on memory usage and pretty fast/stable.
If you grab the Hawks SOAD RLS 3 build - use the 7/2/10 NBH files.
That's great , thanks! What version of Android is that? The one I'm using is 1.6. I have read that the HTC touch has had a 2.x ported to it. My only concern is using SkyFire. I LOVED that browser underwindows mobile and the Beta for Android 1.6 does not function any more (If it ever did?) Sites that Skyfire 1.1 had no problem with under Winmo just won't display properly. Like my local radio station site to load the stream.
I changed my htc mp6900sp from sprint to a htc evo shift. I kept the 6900 and I am interested in flashing to android. Thing is that this phone does not como with wifi features but it does have a side slot for memory card. Can it be done? Is there a way to make this phone wifi? I don't need it as a phone just want it for my kids to fool around and lay off of my Evo.

Spica is a very peculiar device due to its hardware. There is a full developers site for it, have a look to forum[dot]samdroid[dot]net (sorry, I'm new and not allow to post external links)
Currently I'm on Gingerbread 2.3.7 (based on Cyanogenmod 7), but still has some TODO's, like finishing Camera (it works but without a custom preview) or Bluetooth audio (for car hands free, for example), but it is a very smoth version, and under continuos development. I really recommend it.
Also you will find many flavours of Froyo, with all drivers working.
Regards.
