THIS LANGUAGE PACK WILL WORK ON "nocert" ROMs ONLY!!!
(what does it mean?)
This is the Dutch Language Pack for WM2005 nocert ROMs.
So I guess it won't work on the Magician

Hello, The King! I think it's really difficult to translate a whole O.S. it is possible, but since a single O.S. has hundreds of strings (text) it would take months to years to make a good translation.
I think that there are tools, but, sorry, I don't know their names. I'm sure that any ROM cooker would provide you with the info.
Good luck!

I would like to thank you for reading my thread. I knew it is difficult to translate the whole system but as you know dreams has no boarders. I will stay dreaming until one day that will be a reality.
With my deep thanx & regards,

U can ask cookers certenly they know files and the best u can get is to uppack installation package, get language files (i think they are numbered instead of saying like: english, they have somthing like "0409" files and all that has that typo of number indicates us to a lang file) So u can try to extract it and then for exemple with TXT editor replace and translate it manually, and most of words are duplicated so if u use replace tool u can translate all langs pretty quickly, and dont forget that there are another problem that is language keyboard, that is yet another little problem, but not so hard.
what you could do is translate all files that end with mui.0409 but you need some software like PE Explorer to translate all strings and dialogs. this would give you kurdish language in program menus and stuff but you could probable not change the names of the folder because the programs have the paths deaper coded into the dll and exe. I would not dream of doing this because when you finaly get finished there would probalble be 1 or 2 updates since you started to translate so most new apps would not run on the windows version you translated.
Hello!
Just bought myself a Touch HD and ofc installed one of the nicely cooked roms to replace the original one. One question though, can you add a T9 dictionary from an original rom to the cooked one? Would like to have swedish T9-dictionary and since they aren't included (and I understand why ) I would know if there are any chance of adding it myself afterwards.
Tried to use the search-function but don't think the forum allows a keyword with only 2 letters (T9) so hope you guys can help me out.
Hello.
I tried the latest english MIUI ROM for Defy (2.4.20) and I really liked it. The problem is that my girlfriend does't know a word of english and the latest version has not been translated to her native language, french.
The last version that MIUI France translated was 2.3.30. I know there aren't many differences between 2.4.20 and 2.3.30. However, 2.4.20 is the very last MIUI ROM for Defy, so I think it's a shame they don't want to translate it. Besides, if there are so few differences between these versions, it should not be so hard to update the string files.
Basically, what I want to do at the moment, is to take the translated string files from 2.3.30 and put them into 2.4.20. If some strings are missing I may try to update them later on.
If I understood correctly, I need to transfer the string files of every app from the french ROM to the english one with apktool, but I can't find a way to extract the files from the miui ROMs (which is strange since they are zip files). My best guess is that I'm missing a step.
So my question is the following: is there a way do to it from a windows computer and what is it?
Quick google'ing gave me this:
http://www.miui-au.com/add-ons/apktool/
Shouldn't be so hard to find on the net.
Maybe you should try morelocale 2 from the playstore
hi, i have a MB508 with original rom, in this have only english and spanish language, i can put a Portguese language in?
You won't be able to put another language into the stock rom (or it would at least be really hard, and someone would have to translate it), but CyanogenMod 7 has Portuguese.
There's a few bugs still left for the Flipside, but if you don't need 3G you can disable it and it should work OK
