proxy config APP ?

Anybody know some application that can configure proxy (use ou not) in each connection?
I use proxy for GSM data connection to work remotly (work network), but when connect by WiFi or GPRS I don't use proxy and have to enter configuration connections to disable...
Can I assign proxy settings to each connection?
Thanks
i had the same problem as well, do a search for proxy and you'll find it, also go to start>help and search proxy and it will tell you there.

But, do you know any software that can do it???
I know configure proxy any time but i want an app that can do it for me (in each connection)!
Thanks
Change which network each connection uses (ie work, internet - make more of your own) then each one can have different proxy settings.

Ok, this thread is a little old, but it is close to what I am looking at.
I just got my bill from O2 and I have been charged £1.50 for "GPRS data" although I think it is actually MMS messages being sent or received by GPRS. I am guessing this is because it is set up incorrectly by me.
I did have it set to collect MMS over the "mobile.o2.co.uk" settings (as opposed to the "wap.o2.co.uk" settings) and wifi could be enabled, but if I tried to use the browser without enabling wifi it automatically dialled the GPRS connection.
Could someone give me an idea on how to set it so that
A) MMS messages only count as MMS messages and are sent and received by GPRS.
B) WiFi is the preferred connection for everything else.
C) GPRS is available if WiFi is not available (and preferably after getting confirmation from the user), ie I dont have to find the settings and re-enter them.
I realise this is probably not possible, but any help and/or pointers are appreciated.

[Updated]AT&T SETTINGS FOR DUMMYS

Ok ok, I edited this post because at&t doesn't provide the exact details and there is no thread on here that has all the settings for it.
To get to the connection settings:
Start Menu/Settings/Connections/advanced/select networks/click "new" if media net isn't there or click edit if media net is there/ fill in these settings:
MEdia Net:
General: MEdia Net
Modem:Edit(MEdia Net)/New(Create Media Net):
Name: MEdia Net
Modem:Cellular Line (GPRS , 3G)
Hit next
Access Point name: wap.cingular
Hit next
Leave first three fields empty(if you know what to put put in but it doesn't really matter)
Hit advanced
Select Use server assigned IP address
Select Use IP Header compression
Servers:
Select Use server assigned address
HIT OK
Hit finished
Proxy Settings:
Select This network connects to the Internet
Select This network uses a proxy server. . . .
Proxy Server: wireless.cingular.com
Hit advanced
Hit HTTP
Port:80
Hit ok
Hit Socks
Server: localhost
Port: 1080
Hit ok
AT&T ISP:
General:AT&T ISP
Modem:Edit(Edit My ISP*Change name to AT&T ISP GPRS*/New(Create AT&T ISP GPRS):
Name: AT&T GPRS
Modem:Cellular Line (GPRS , 3G)
Hit next
Hit next
Access Point name: isp.cingular
Hit next
Leave first three fields empty(if you know what to put put in but it doesn't really matter)
Hit Finish
Hit ok
Your done with the internet settings
Select MEdia Net then its totally done and to test it out go to
http://device.home/(It wouldn't normally work with out the proxy settings)
Well, I found them.
It's all over Howardforums.com for years if you'd search there.
I searched and nothing. But this is help full for people on here too.

Am sure a few lazy so and so's like...erm me (sometimes) will find this useful. Maybe put some other settings up on this post for other operators. Perhaps worth a look around via search first as its likely to be something that someones already done. But can't be sure.
best
Nick
Why not just use a .cab to do it automatically?
This is the one I've been using:

Also, I recently found out I could add MediaNet under My ISP. So now if I have Wifi on, it'll use Wifi. Otherwise it'll use MediaNet.
I had MediaNet seperate so I kept having to change it. Much better this way.

This is something that I've been trying to figure out for a while. How do you add MediaNet under My ISP. I would love to be able to be on the WIFI while at work and then change to ISP when I leave.
thanks,
P

I am also very curious about this.
Settings > Connections > Connections
Advanced tab > Select Networks
With My ISP selected, click "Edit." Then click "New..." at bottom and enter in the MEdiaNet stuff.
Thanks alot for the info. I was having trouble accessing Cingular Video after flashing to Duttys rom.
i was very confused about this and erased all of the connections
why is there Media Net and AT&T ISP GPRS?
I know this is supposed to be for *dummies*
so i guess i am one
But what's the reasoning behind needing two of them?

One is Media Net Access(and the whole internet) and the other one is for tethering.
5 stars!
Thanks, this helped a lot. Now to figure out how to tell my cooked 6.1 ROM that I am on AT&T and not roaming. Seems to be a bug on every 6.1 ROM I have flashed.
WORKS GREAT Thank You!!!

Have you tried searching for the settings in this forum?
It is the only way to learn.
Are there any new settings for at&t? I want to update this.
I was hoping someone would figure out how to manually select a tower in AT&T.

I am not sure if there is anything new but this didn't work for me. I tried this on my Tilt 2 flashed with Sergio76's The Cell ROM v9.5 AT&T (just has the AT&T dialer and nothing else AT&T). I had used a cab that fixed all of the settings to what's in the post except the AT&T ISP which I took care of no problem. However, when I go to Media Mall and search for an app, I'm told there are no results for my handset. I looked at the device ident in the settings and the IMEI is there but the s/n is wiped and I can't edit it. Maybe with a regedit...I dunno. I haven't had the time to try that. It was an idea. There's something that was wiped off the phone that identified my device to AT&T...maybe some sort of hidden proxy or certificate or simply the s/n. I haven't found any Tilt 2 users so far that are able to or even use the Media Mall so I dunno. If anyone else knows something or has figured this out please clue me in. I wouldn't mind being able to get back to the media mall.
Thanks for any help...

New Hero - no data connection?

I just bought a Hero (the Telus version, so I can use the AT&T 3G). The phone itself works fine but the data connection won't connect, it won't even connect to edge or anything. I looked through all the settings and couldn't find anywhere to adjust the settings, or an option for it to find the settings automatically. How do you set it up?
You need to add the AT+T APN settings, these are under settings>wireless controls>mobile network settings>access point names.

Lost T-Mobile UK data settings HTC HD2

Hi can anyone help. Just put 1.66 ROM into my HD2 all is well apart from no internet connection available. Does anyone have the correct setings for T-Mobile UK internet and data use? Thought this would be a new dawn for my phone now I can't even check emails or get weather updates. I'm gutted. HELP!!!
remove your SIM/SD card and do a hard reset. turn it on with them still removed and set it up. put your SIM card in a it should ask you to choose your provider and install the correct settings. if not, you'll have to get T-Mobile to SMS them to you
settings menu all settings connections connection setup
does that work?
also, in start menu there is usually an icon your sim card puts there to get settings.
access point: general.t-mobile.uk
username: user
password: pass
thats contract settings for t-mobile.

Had the same problem,
Try
Start--->menu---> full menu ---->settings----> connections---->connection setup.
Auto settings puts in a proxy server for t-mobileUK (well mine does sometimes). No idea why!
Remove the check to use proxy and all OK.

That means that you are not trying to access sites or functions that dislike the proxy being enabled. When it is enabled the t-mobile proxy dictates what you can and cannot access. Try an ftp transfer with the proxy on!
ahhh.
my browsing is limited. same few sites.

HD2 APN settings

Where do you add new APN settings? I went to all settings/connections/connections but don't see any place to insert all the APN settings..?
Original post:
HD2 noobie here. Have it unlocked on AT&T. Phone/SMS all work fine. I don't get any internet(mail, facebook, marketplace, etc.) unless I'm on wifi. I realize being on AT&T I can only get edge(which is fine). I've been on a tmobile phone(G1 on edge prior to getting this phone) since last year with no problems. I figured it was my sim card. I took my old G1 and put my sim in there, works no problems. Also put a different sim card under my account(my dads) in my HD2, same problem. I've narroed it down to the HD2 itself but I have no clue what could be keeping it from getting on edge/internet.
I get a 'Cannot COnnect'' error that says:
Cannot connect for an unknown reason. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap settings. If the problem continues, reset your mobile device according to your manufactuerer's documentation and try again.

Then after hitting 'Dismiss' I see:

Make sure your Internet connection is active and check wether other applications that rely on the same connection are working

Any idea? Maybe someone with AT&T has seen this problem before.
Cheers
Your APN settings are wrong; if you have a TMOUS or Telstra HD2 it won't have AT&T settings on it, you need to create new connection profiles with AT&T settings.
I'm assuming it uses the same APN settings as my G1 on AT&T did? But where the heck do I enter new APN settings at on this phone?
I've looked everywhere for APN settings. Can anyone help please?
settings - all settings - connections - connections
I have tried that and saw NOTHING about APN settings.
updated title. still can't figure this out. surely there are AT&T users on here that had to do this

settings tab - menu - all settings - connections - connections - add a new modem connection - name - cellular line(gprs) then fill in the rest with the at&t access point name and such like.
Then, when you have the modem created, go back to the connections - connections screen, jump to advanced tab, click select networks - and set the top option to your at&t data you just set up.

Please help me set up the APN for t-zones and mms. I have a T-Mobile unlocked HD2 that I flashed to android. I went to settings-wireless & networks-mobile networks-access point names. When I hit Access Point Names, there are no options in it, just a black screen with APN on top so I cannot add anything. How do I set up my T-mobile MMS and t-zones settings? I looked everywhere and could not find a solution. Please help!!!!
