I have an Orange M600 from France, which I use here in China. I have been having some issues with the unit which seem to come up when I use the camera. getting a frozen screen. Up till now it was nothing that a soft reset could not fix. This time I was using the camera and a text message came in. When I went to open it I got a blank screen, where I would noramally see the text of the sms. I still can see the windows icon,clock etc. on top and the reply,keyboard and menu items on the bottom, otherwise the screen is white. If I try to to reply the only thing that changes is reply changes to "send" and the rest of the screen is white, if i click on the keyboard icon i get a keyboard but no text will come up on the screen.
1)my instinct is to hard reset the device and see if it helps
2)I'd like to try to backup the sms data but not aware of the solution for that
3)really want to get everything onto my SD Card
4)when I returned from the trip where this occurred the active sync started giving me grief(I think found a possible solution for that but thought it could be related)
5)wiki is a hit/miss thing here, today no access
6)Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided, I am pretty new to this.

Hey everyone,
Weird quirk when opening any SMS the message opens to the bottom of the SMS. I have to scroll up to actually read the message. I have noticed this on ELF, LSVW & BLACK WM6. Can't remember if the issue was in WM5. Weird part is when I installed Black Shadow for the first time it was fine! did a HS and it is back to this issue.
Any ideas? Sorry if this was posted before, just could not find it!
I searched this forum (using both Google & the internal search) with no luck.

Remove the PIE D-Pad scrolling hack. This is what causes the problem with the SMS window.

Thank you very much. You are 100% correct. I removed the hack and all is well. I didn't even think to relate it to that.
Had a search and found the messenging probs with having to wait for all the messages to load before starting to type but....
If i start typing a message then, for example, want to put a "?" at the end the curser/blinking icon thingy (lol) jumps either back a couple of words or back to the start of the message...
Only way I have found around it is to put a space, then delete it then put the "?" in...any ideas? common thing?

there is a post about this, yes its an annoything thing i have and several others on the HD2, its even mroe stranger when it starts typing words/ navigating by itself
Yes there is another post about the jumping cursor while switching to number/sysmbol screen but somebody noticed that it only does it if the XT9 suggested word is still showing... .so if you confirm the word before switching keyboard the cursor doesnt jump!
This definately works on mine but the trouble is conditioning myself to select word before switching!!

On my old Touch Pro when you recieved a message whatever program you were using at the time if you clicked at the black bar at the top for notifications then on the view message icon it would display in a little bubble at the bottom of the screen overlayed ontop of the program you were using so you could quickly view the message and then minimize it an contiue what you were doing or click reply and it would enter you into text messaging. Is there anyway to enable this feature for HD2. Because I miss it!

have you recently flashed a rom? if so what back up program did you use to backup/restore PIM data? When i flashed my first rom i was using SPB Backup and when restoring PIM data, it would loose the bubble you talk about, I have since used PIM Backup and not had an issue.
Its always been like it, with first ROM, i upgraded to 1.66 and now im on 1.72, by the way big mistake! My phone is now slow as hell and doesnt send texts or recieve whether updates!
I assumed that it was the new stly of notifications menu and hoped there was a way to enable the other style?

Also the delivery report always shows up in the bubble but messages it takes you bac to manila and then to the messages tab. Anybody else have messages opening in the bubble like djchubbs. And @ Popeyes_Rat yes Vodafone UK

About to flash myself. I'll come back here if I get any problems.
Ok let me know ive found its not so bad now 1.72 I am currently on a personal record(this is not a joke this is the longest ive ever been able to run the phone without reseting) of 17hours 23minutes without needing to soft reset however i have had to do funny things to make that possible see here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=666458
Can anybody tell me if in any ROM version when u get a text in and click in the notifications menu it opens the message in a bubble at the bottom rather than taking u too messages tab??

Very easy: Start, Settings, Menu, More, Sounds and Notifications, Choose New Message from DropdownMenu, Check "Show Message", Done

If i am in the right place it is greyed out and doesnt let me check the box although for me to get there it is:
start/settings/menu/all settings/sounds & notifications/ then click notifications tab then select New Message from DropdownMenu but the "Display message on screen" is greyed out?

Hmm strange maybe it is ROM-dependant...? Or there are other settings need to be made in order to use this option...? Which ROM are u using? Have you got BSBTweaks installed?
No i dont have bsb tweaks installed i dont like the way you cant reset to defaults, i do have hd2 tweaks installed though.Will bsb tweaks make it work? im running latest voda Rom 1.72.

Actually i dont think that this has to do with BSB. I relly dont have an idea as the checkbox "Show Message" is a standard function of every windows mobile version Anybody else got an idea why the box is greyed out...?
I went searching through the registry and found keys which were in the NOTIFICATIONMGR bit which had a path linking to Messaging_Client which i guess is what directs it to the manilla messaging bit when you get a message. I tried deleting the path and deleting the values in the CMD bit but it still does the same. I restored the key after just incase it affected something else but presumably there is a key somewhere which controls whether or not you can click that check box but i have no idea where i would find it? Anyone know.
Ok so owned my HD2 for 3 months now and just made the transformation to energy rom maxsense 21907 on my 1024 us leo.
I loaded up my phone and heres my problem.
There is a text message already in there and if I go in and swipe it to the left I don't have anymore today screen. I can hit windows button on my phone to bring up my stuff but nothing on the screen works after that until I hit the windows button.
Any advice?

Ok so I just got home from work and I saw in the energy thread that someone else is getting it.
It's a text message preinstalled into the phone from William Archbell it is an mms and if you try to click it from the alert window it'll bring it up and if you swipe to the left or click on it it freezes. If you restart sense things work fine but still can't get into it the message.
no one has a resolution for this?

If you search the original thread for this ROM you will find a fix.
The thing is. I did search and the fix that I found didn't work. Unless I grabbed the wrong fix. Could you guide me to the right cab or fix as an attachement to make sure I got the right fix. I did the mms fix but I don't know I can't seem to find any other fixes.
I tried both the energy rom threads from in tmobile usa and in the regular hd2 rom dev.
same here , i have that problem when i open the outlook and then no more home screen.
