Location of Sense 2.5 slider ? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

Could somebody please tell me where the image file for the Sense 2.5 is located ? I would like to alter it slightly,bI could do it easily in regular old MS Paint, no need for me to download HDWalls unless thats the only way to change it for some reason. I searched all thru /Windows, couldnt find it in there. If its in one of the million manilla files, how would I go about getting it out? Sorry if this has been covered before, I searched the forums, and all I found was HDWalls but I'd rather avoid using that if possible. Thanks!!

It will be buried among roughly 700-800 manila files. Unfortunately, I don't have Sense 2.5 so I can't tell you the exact name. But you can use CFC GUI to find and extract the png: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470798
As far as I know, MS Paint will open the png and save it, but you will any transparency. So if your slider is a bit opaque, MS Paint won't do the trick.

crap...
thats kinda what i figured, that it'd be buried in the manilla files somewhere. i didnt consider that i'd lose transparency. guess i'll be going with hdwalls. thanks for your help, i appreciate it.

I have a question to the graphic designers who are "in the know"

im trying to come out with an iphone/cube with the new ultimate launcher that is similar to the release I was going to make on WAD... you can see a preview a few pages back on this thread if you want to see it... the only problem that im having is how to convert torx png icons to ico files... i converted them myself, but i cant get the background on them to stay transparent... if someone can help me out with this... itd be much appreciated... because i will be able to release this design to the public
please help
Which programs have you used?
I remember I once used Microangelo and it worked fine. It's not free, though, and I don't think you can do any batch converting if you have lots of files that needs to be converted.

yea, thats my problem... i dont think ill need a program like this after this project, so i dont want to have to buy a program... the one i used was "abc" i think it was "advanced batch converter"
but, yes that is crucial... id like to be able to do these all at once... instead of one at a time... i have several different icon packs... akumas icons and the torx icons... if anyone is willing to convert them for me... your efforts will be acknowledged when i release the ul skin...
if anyone can help, id appreciate it... thanks
Ok, then I don't think I can help you
Try "ICOFX" (Freeware) , i made my UL-Cube Icons with it. Converts everything to ico, also "all at once".

Please, can you tell me what options did you set in ICOFX to create your icons?
I'm trying to build some in my own but when I upload them into UL the resolution doesn't look so good.

Like your TF3D background... here are some small clocks

Hi,
I was missing some small clocks that do not block the TF3D background too much.
To solve my "problem" I just created two versions in black and white. One with a semi transparent clock background and one without a clock background.
The actual numbers are a little far away from eachother but experimenting getting them closer gave some nasty image conflicts. If anyone has an solution let me know and I update the clock.
If you are looking for any other color let me know and I get it done for you.
*********************
EDIT: 23 Nov 2008
Version 1.1
Available colors in zip:
Black
White
Updates:
Used a bit better readable font
Updated positioning
Fixed Lower Curtain error
To Do
Change distance between numbers
Make Semi Transparent flip smaller
thank you very much
Very nice but...
... I can't get it to work with Sprint theme. Still have the Sprint clock BG and the : between the numbers
hi thanks for ur clock
But I got one problem after installing ur clock, the touch flo bar at the bottom turned into a thinner style after I have installed ur clock. how can i change it to normal style? thanks
The idea of smaller clock is brilliant, but these are just too small
@g0mib0y
Like mentioned in the readme you should use the diamnond config tool from susilange to restore to original files from you rom. If you do a quick search on the forum you should be able to find the tool to restore your TF3D. Before you restore can you post a screenshot for me to see what happened as it works good on my end. I would like to fix it for eveyone.
@jonson10
I guess that it works different for the sprint rom. I will take a look at this and see how others have get it to work for the sprint ROM.
@usper
I'll take a look at making them a little bigger for you

Find the files that are in the zip in your \Windows folder on your device.
Delete them and soft-reset. They will restore from the ROM.

@ dickenz
Thanx for the follow-up. this is indeed the best thing to do when the diamond config does not do the trick. Weird however seeing that the config tool deletes all the manilla files and restarts so it will be reinstalled from the ROM and should solve the problem.
@ jonson10
I'll take an other look at the issue somewhere today. Which clock did you use the clock with the glassclock background or the one without background? Let me know so I can take a better look at it. There are some files in the glassclock BG that could cause this but I need to know for sure you are using this
i like the idea of a smaller clock, but with the border around the clock still being the same size it eliminates any reason i had to download it i dont suppose you could reduce the size of the border around so the calender etc are pushed up more into the center of the screen?

Works fine with original manilla theme
these look really good, but they are too spaced out, is there anyway to get the clock that size but with less space between the numbers?
another idea i have is, if you used the ones with no background and removed the numbers too!!
NOONE has made an invisible clock yet and it would be the best way to get a full wallpaper
i would really like the invisible clock.
would this be possible?
thanks for your help and your small clock <- EDIT i have just realised how bad that sounded lol sorry

Created some updates on the Small Clock You can down load version 1.1 from the first post. Update history is also listed there.

Did you setup the resco explorer to overwrite all files? You can do this under Menu\Options\General than under the tab Files check all boxes and select Copy.
Let me know if that did the trick.
thats how it was set up but it didnt want to work..anyway, i used total commander and it worked..
Ok good to see it was solved any way. It is weird as I use the Resco myself and do not have this issue :-S
Anyway it is solved so that is the most important
Really great work!
What I would really love, is the transparrent one, but with white digits insted of black.
Could you do it?
Pretty please!!!

Theme Creation in Spb/TFLO

This is for those of you that have made themes, or know how to make themes in Spb or TouchFLO. I'm looking for a detailed process as to what files get changed, and where they get changed, in order to create themes for these interfaces. I tried a search and got crap results, so I'm sorry if this has been posted elsewhere already.
While I still don't personally have an X1, I would like to make a nice Theme Creator-type program similar to the good ol' Sony Ericsson Theme Creator. Ideally, this would make the process of pushing out new themes as simple as possible, and everyone could have nice, quality themes for their X1.
If, when you post instructions on the theming process, you could attach an example theme, that would help for comparison-debugging as well. Cheers!
there is no theme aditor for TF3D like you want it
Manually select files and replace the images and hope you don't mess up your theme is the only way to go
search for manila editor/m9editor to do so.
good luck

You completely misunderstood my post. What I want to do is create the program that lets you edit the themes, and what I was asking for was detailed information on what files need changed, and how they need to be changed.

This is exactly why I want to write a program for this.

I would gladly make such a theming program if someone would tell me how the themes are formatted and structured, what images went where (along with image restrictions, such as their dimensions).
I don't even own an X1, so it's hard to write software for it when I can't really operate on one, but a theming program such as this could run on a generic Windows OS, and create themes to be transferred to the X1, which is very doable if I know what it is I need to make.
aaah.. my bad understanding
as for the TF3D.. there is no real theme you can load it's a compilation of files one can edit.
There are 478 images that can be edited and positioned to get the whole theme look in place. To explain here which goes where and how isn't possible.
What you can do is download itje's full hd cab and extract it.
Then with the mode9editor from 6Fg8 view the files and get to understand the structure.
manila full hd cab

I'd love to help out with the theme creator for TF3D with the SPB i have no experience (didn't like it much).
If you'd want to do it proper I think you'll need to make some kind of emulator for the TF3D interface so you have instant feedback when changing things.

I think it would be possible, albeit time-consuming. Is there a different resource which does explain which goes where and how?

Unfortunately, this alone doesn't help me understand the structure (the mode9 editor seems crash prone and seemingly doesn't understand most of the files in the CAB, and with several BMPs it complains about the headers). I really just need a detailed source of information that says what files get changed, and what they represent (remember also that, since I don't have any phone that can run TF3D personally, I can't go around experimenting with changing files to see what affects what. I need to have a clear documentation of the file structure).
Ofcourse it's possible.. but not for me
Unfortunately I don't have that time
if you check the mode9 files you'll see most of the placement of the qtc files.
The mode9 is actually only for the _manila files.. and yes.. double clicking needs to be prevented
But without a way to test it .. I give you little hope..
Have been searching for weeks for all info one 1 sheet to find my way around.. it's not here to my knowledge.
trail and error is the only way..
but maybe i'm a pessimist
good luck!
Ok...
Here we go...
Well to change TF3D themes you must edit files called Manila Files. Each file has an image inside it. in some cases (mode9) they stand for actual functions. Once these files are opened, using manila editor, you find the image files. (they are in QTC format). You must then replace "your" image files with the QTC files. This is done with the QTC converter built into manila editor.
Here is where you can download the manila files.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3143701&postcount=28
and here is where you can download manila editor:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=414861
hope it helps
that 0.2 manila editor is more solid but gives lesser image quality then the mode9editor that is in development now.
but yeah... it doesn't crash
If it helps,
here's a thread that contains a psd file which mapped out the entire manila interface and is easily batchable by the mode9editor.

Can I change the blue colors of my new AT&T HTC Tilt 2?

Hi all, total newb here.
I have a new Tilt 2 from AT&T and I'm in way over my head here with changing things around (first smart phone). I've been searching these board for several days, trying different things, but I'm not having much luck. Basically, all I want to do is get rid of all the blue on the TF3D. Anyway to do this?
I'd really love a simple, sleek black theme going. I tried the Dusk theme from another thread, but that didn't work. So, in short: Is there a simple, newb-friendly way to change all that blue to black?
Thanks for the time.
I've been digging around quite a bit, and it looks like there's no easy way to do this. So I've been playing with the manila editor I found on these boards, and I have a few questions for anyone who can help me out here.
1. I have found and copied all the manilla files from the phone. I am assuming all I need to do is simply alter the images and replace, correct?
2. In trying to replace the images - changing blue to black with a color replacement tool in Photoshop - I am having an issue with image quality once the file is converted back to a manila file. Here's what happens: I save the original manila file as a .png. I then alter this file by changing it from blue to black. Then I use the manila editor to replace the file. HOWEVER - after I replace the file, the image becomes horribly dithered. This also happens if I save as a .jpg. Any way to retain image quality when converting back to a manila file?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help out.
get MaxManilla and install HDWalls
make a background using HDWalls (save the image to use as theme background so you can see it under "start" too) and apply it.
I have a tilt2 and I flashed to leo energy with dusk... love the switch !
edit:
you can also try applying the HQ Wallpaper patch
Rajinn, thanks for the response. If I may pick your brain for a moment...
When you say "flashed to leo energy with dusk," what does that entail, exactly? (total n00b, remember?) What, exactly, does flashing to leo energy accomplish? Is this something a beginner can accomplish without destroying the phone?
Looking around at the non-AT&T Rhodium, I would be very happy with the standard TF3D black version, but I'll entertain other ways to get something similar. That blue Touchflo is just too... blue.
Thanks!
Alternatively, if this is easier:
Is there a way to change my blue AT&T TF3D to the standard, non-AT&T black TF3D?

When he said "flashed to leo energy with dusk", he means he flashed to EnergyROM "Leo" (The ROM version) with the "MaxManila Dusk" Manila (aka TF3D) theme. While flashing a custom ROM, like EnergyROM, is pretty safe and has many benefits (such as faster overall speed and a superior user experience), you might not want to try it right away if you're still a bit new to your phone. I recommend you get a good feel for Windows Mobile and the Tilt2 before exploring more advanced options such as custom ROMs.
I would also follow his suggestion of using HDwalls. I've never used it myself, but it's very popular among the boards. There are also premade wallpapers here if you don't want to make your own. If you want to change the bottom slider with all the tabs, you might try this website for premade sliders.
Have had a Tilt 2 for a while now, and wanted to know the same thing. The highlight color is blue on the clock and other things and I hate it too. But I haven't found a way to change them yet. Tried HDwalls and some other stuff. Will end up flashing, just waiting for the right ROM to surface. Sorry. A far as mine tho only highlight is blue, Clear clock,no lines, curtians, sliders, ect...

I agree, and thanks for the advice. I'd be way in over my head if I tried it and I don't think it's worth the hassle.
I did manage to replace my blue clock, and hopefully I can replace the blue slider. With those two changes, I can definitely live with the remaining blue highlights.
(I now have a transparent clock with the white numbers. If anyone has a link or a .cab file for the stock black background clock with white numbers, I'd be grateful. The transparent is cool, but not quite what I'm after)
Thanks all!

When I still used Sense 2.1, this worked for me.
working on a tmo version of what you are describing...
... But the trouble is that there are so many image files that need to be converted. also, I agree abou the image quality. in fact, I found that the best way to go about changing images for TF3D is doing the complete oposite of what I was describing in my thread (signature).
the only way to make it look good is to dither it further, or make a design that uses no gradients (yes even a B&W gradient turns out bad). I am not sure why that is. maybe because winmo only supports 8 or 32 bit, and does not support 16 or 24 bit.
I have already changed my slider button from blue to black, but it is a completely different image. and yes, I had to complicate the image a lot for it to look half way decent. I kinda miss M2D in a way because if it.

Thank you, I'll give that one a try this evening.
S.V.I: That slider button is the one thing that's driving me nuts. (Well, until it's changed, then something else will come along )
So I understand the process of changing images - once I alter an image using the Manila editor and replace the manila file with the new image, do I simply replace the manila file in the /windows directory?
If so, I noted that I do not have permissions to do a copy & replace (Total Commander needed, right?). Could I simply delete the original manila file and then paste the new file (so no copy/overwrite is needed)?
Thanks!

When you finally get tired of it, which you probably will, read up on flashing. If you read in the forums for days before asking a question, read on. Flashing, to me, is more benefial than keeping the stock ROM. IF AND ONLY IF, you get a good ROM that has no issues, and stick with it. For those of us who like to flash often, it is more of a hobby to test others work, than for us to use. But if you see a great ROM that you absolutely love the look of it, read read read, and flash flash flash. Be sure to ask as many questiosn as possible before flashing, so you don't mess nothing up though.
slider buttons. hopefully they uploaded bu opera.
these are the sliders buttons that I made. sorry i can not upload any photos. dont have them. but you can try them and see which suits you. just make sure that you disable manila before installing and uninstalling them.

To be clear...are you talkign about the color of the clock tiles themselves, directly behind the letters? Or the background (wallpaper) on the home tab?
At first I thought you meant the border around the bottom half of the clock, where the weather shows up...but you shouldn't have that on a 6.1 ROM..
the two tone gray background of the clock itself, if it is at all possible without changing the clock numbers. I can swipe my finger "up" and then the numbers on the clock become smaller and the background goes away....thats what im after. and thanks for not railing on me, I may have alot of posts but 97% or more are questions lol but im getting better.

No problem What you're talking about is the clock tiles, and they are certainly replacable with custom ones. The trick is determining exactly what version of TF3D or Sense you have, you'll have to know that to know which custom clocks to look for and download.
Do you have an "About" entry on the "settings" tab? If so it'll tell you what version you have. If you don't see that there, you can just look it up in the registry (I'll show you where)...do you have a regedit app? (Total Commander, PHM_regedit, etc)

I dug around in some clock files and found this for you to try, there is no guarantee that it will work as i cant test it for you, but i looked at in with CFC gui and it looks promising!
It might be a good idea to back up the same file in your rom,
Untick manila in "home settings" then copy the file using TC or something
retick manila and it should show.
I hope it works for you

Ok yeah I have the same version as Tregrad (TF3D 2.1), and that manila file worked just fine on mine when I tested it...it makes the clock tiles 100% transparent.
However, getting that manila file into the right place on your phone takes a little doing...do you (Tregrad) know how to copy files into and out of your phone's /windows directory?
Maybe someone would be willing to cab that up for you to make it easier...but if not, we can show you how to get it on there and working.

Untick manila in "home settings" then copy the file using TC or something
retick manila and it should show.
I hope it works for you

Start...settings...today..items... will get you there
dont even have an option to untick manilla
Ok heres the Cab, sorry for the delay!!
there must be a tick box in "Items" Under today settings, and it will be Manila or TF3d or something HTC related! its been so long since i used this ROm i can't remember
So untick whatever it is and then install the cab then retick and it should have overwritten....Good Luck
ok tf3d is ticked, I am going to try the file thing first then if that doesnt work then i will try the cab, thanks.
nope, none of it worked. unticked, ran cab, wanted to restart - let it do so, restarted then re-ticked tf3d and nothing happened?
should i delete the existing file? if it isnt there then it wont want to run it right and since i just want it gone it wouldnt hurt right?
I have to go for now be back in a few hours. thanks again for all your efforts os!
