Laptop Magazine March Smartphone Madness Game - Our HD2 vs. Palm Pre - HD2 General

I'm a little bit inclined to post this here instead on the news section since it's related directly to our device, but here goes:
Laptop Magazine is running a March Madness smartphone play-off, and the current contest pits the HTC HD2 against Palm Pre.
Palm Pre is currently in the lead with 5211 votes vs HD2 at 3619 votes as of 5:59PM CST. Votes are open till 9 a.m. EST tomorrow, April 1st, and of course the big question is whether you would wanna see your beloved HD2 gets knocked out by the uhhh, Palm Pre...?
I'm pretty sure if we can mobilize half of the ppl here at xda to vote we'll be able to knock out the race, so spread the news and vote!

It's really bad
What do you think, even if they dont publish any rom, Can programmers make wp7s roms for hd2 ?
Why won't people do an easy search before posting a same thread?
This has been today's TOP discussion since the interview with MS from pocketnow.com at MIX10 Las Vegas.
We knew all that even before today. We just hoped to hear a good news, but deep down, we all knew it.
So, please, if you like to discuss about this topic, please read first 5 pages. there are lots of it.

nice reading!
Thanks AthenaLod for posting the link for those members that do not visit or make use of the XDA Portal. I personally visit the Portal at least one or more a day. ai saw the story there today and was like that is way cool. Kudos to The best that XDA TV has to offer azrienoch for writing this story. I will be waiting and watching for the second part of the story as it is way cool to see a story talking about the history of the mega development the HD2 has gotten.
The HD2 is truly the Excalibur of smartphone devices. I will hold onto mine even when the main board finally plays out. It will set in a self as a constant ommige to it being my first smartphone, getting me hooked on learning about hacking devices, and to the sher awesomeness of the HD2. Long live the HD2!
i love the hd2 so much that now i have mine, my brother has one, and my sister has one (got it today)
good article, when is part 2 coming?
no idea! waiting as well

Just wanted to say hello...

I can see there are a few other "first hello" threads about (although the others seem somewhat old), but I thought it'd be a better start than just bombarding everyone with questions that have no doubt been asked already.
So far, I've destroyed a GT-i9000, successfully upgraded a GT-i9100 to 4.1.2, and I'm half way through trying to play around with my HTC Wildfire S (the pain in the backside it's turning out to be). In short, I can see this becoming a bit of a hobby.
I've got a bit of background in programming, databases, and a few other relevant fields (no notable achievements, but plenty of enthusiasm). I'm starting a course tomorrow at a university in Taiwan (it's actually run by MIT) for developing health care delivery systems for remote areas, so I expect I'll be on here over the coming months (it's just a one-semester gig for now).
I did notice a few frequent posters here, but I don't know how active everyone is, so - HELLO IF YOU'RE HERE!
....and echo... ech... cho... ho... o... .. . if I'm talking to myself!... yself!... self! ... elf!.. lf! ...f! :silly:
I'll keep roaming around in circles for a while and probably have some questions soon! Cheers!

Hi, welcome to xda developers a few things you should note, those hello threads are strictly speaking not allowed as they are counted as off topic. (If everyone one had a hello goodbye thread these forums would be packed XD) secondly you state your working with a wildfire s, this is the wildfire forums the wildfire s is newer and has better hardware. Quick way to tell is if your phone does not have the trackball is the newer model
