I have a new Diamond2 that came with wm 6.5 installed.
Well, I prefer 6.1 over 6.5 so I flashed it with a 6.1 ROM.
The flashing went well but after the device is stuck in a start-up loop, it starts up and the "HTC Diamond 2" is seen on the screen, then it shuts down and starts up again, stuck in a endless loop. Only way to stop it is to remove the battery.
What to do????

Were these official ROMs or are you HSPL'd?
Did you try a hard reset?
Yes, it´s a official ROM (1.39.413.1).
Yes, tried hard reset. Problem still there.

I'm having exactly the same problem like you do.
i bought it with WinMo 6.5 Pre-Installed and after downgrading
to the official 6.1 Rom ... The device is stuck at the same endless loop..
my only solution was to remove the battery ,hold the volume down button , re-insert the battery, this will take you to the boot screen you can just reconnect the USB cable and activate ActiveSync ( or Windows Mobile Center )
and Install the official 6.5 ROM again.... all went O.K. but still can't flash the 6.1 ROM,,, only the 6.5
Note: no Hardspl or anything

glad you sorted things out ,,,, +1
the real answer to ur problem was not having hardspl installed. you see, the chaps at HTC assume ull love 6.5 and will never need to go back to 6.1. therefore, they did not code for this situation, and when it does arise, u get stuck in the aptly named "loop".
had u installed Hardspl before installing any rom, then it would have worked flawlessly.

Well First i was Using OLD Gene P3400
My Gene came with windows 5.1 in it
I have Upgraded to Windows 6.1 1 year Back
Now when i saw 6.5 i thought to use it Downloaded 6.5 ROM Summit's PRO Users WM 6.5 ROM
And i have Installed it as Mine was already SPL'ed for Olip
And after downloading i have directly Started RomUpdate Untility.exe
and My phone was fine 100 % completed and now Restarting
after Restarting i dont know why But it stuck at the Windows 6.5 Splash Screen from 1 hour then i though i should Upgrade the SPL and i have UPGRADED to Oleref some thing
and thus i Bricked MY GENE OLD
it aint working from then
it Wont even Start
SO i have Pressed HOLD Camara Button and Entered INTO Tri Screen Boot Loader
and tried with GENEIMG.NBH strong into CARD Not Helped
Tried mytty not worked
In middle when i try to update the ROMS i used to get INVALID UPDATE TOOL
tried for 3 hours nothing helping
So i search in Forum and found same problem of 3 ppl
there every one wrote the phone was messed up with some ONL some thing u need to give it to Service centre
for and 1 hour i though i should give it to Service Centre
Then Remembered That "HOW LAZY I AM And will i go to Service center and give the phone lol ? "
NOPE i wont im very lazy so i wont
still searched and TRIED HARD SPL V.1.0 olip
and Tried with my phone now its Back to SPl olip
Now what i did was same used Summit's PRO 6.5 WM and tried Sucess 100 % Completed and it was fine
but again same problem It stuck at SPlash screen for 15 mins +
so again entred into boot screen downloaded Original Shipped Asia OLD GENE WM 6.1 and Installed it
And tada it worked like a CHARM
and now MY GENE is BACK to NORMAL

I used SumitsProUsersROM_WM6.5_build21815_OldGene_Fixed to upgrade its struck at windows mobile 6.5 screen only nothing happening.
not able to flash again. Aslo want to note that while I was ugrading it shows me something like "sudden loss of power"
Pls help my phone is not working now.

please read the thread before downloading a ROM. Krazy's this ROM has this problem. try any other ROM for OLD GENE, it will work, if your spl version is .olip

well my phone after i flashed and installed wm 6.5 it was working totally fine, but this morning i turned it off and then on and it totally freezes at the startup screen and never loads windows. what i can do?

Yeah many ppl has this issue... be sure to flash first the att stripped att stock rom then hard reset then boots then reflash the custom rom then hardreset then try again to use th rom maybe it works ok now

I have problem with my tytn, i was traying 7-8 rom of win mobile 6.1 or 6.5 but no help, my htrc cant find nework or when he find network he was online 1 hour and after hat he he offline in phpne mode, what is a problem, radio, rom or... ????

try to upgrade radio version on your device !! you can find Radio Rom Wizard in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=300713 or at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=268031

probably you need reflash again your device with Original Shipped ROM

hi my friends.
I changed my jasjar's tomal 6.1 rom to Original WM5 for sell my phone
but after changing rom, i have a terrible problem.
when i closed the battery for change the simcard and turn it on. when the windows logo appears a blue screen showed and the gsm led begin to work (blinker).
after several soft resets the windows starts and ready to work but when i press the power button to standby the device (sometimes) for turn on the device (after standby) the screen didn't appear.!!
i'm very upset
after that i flashing the radio to newer version (1.18) and flash back to WM6.1 TOmal , WM6 , ... but i still have this problem.
in the tomal's wm6.1 rom (TML_v82_WM61_19960) before the problem shown an error appears under the windows logo > The Skin Is Not Loaded < and after that a black or blue screen appears and nothing...
please help me to fix it.

Only thing I can think of is to doc-format (mtty). And then flash ROM again. Then make sure you Hard Reset.

It's not harmful - basically it totally wipes the device removing everything (including garbage). So you will, of course, need to flash a ROM afterwards.

I have the same problem, I have radio 2.10.50.26 but Im having some issues with WP7 restarting itself and no data connection, so I want to flash the 2.15 radio. I think I need be running WinMo to do this, but I have no idea how to flash back to a winmo rom from WP7. Help?

I have the 6.5 rom on my PC and can get to the boot screen no problem but if I then try and install the old rom it fails as the PC doesn't detect the phone as being connected. Any help would be much appreciated, as although I love WM7 on my HD2 when it is working, it has a habit of randomly rebooting a lot! Thanks!

Just keep your phone unplugged and put it in bootloader mode. After a few seconds, the bottom part of the screen should say serial. Once it says that, plug it into your computer. Serial should change to USB in a second. If your computer doesnt have a driver for it yet, it should install that. Once its done, and once your phone says USB on the bottom of the bootloader screen, you should just be able to run the rom installer on your computer and install it. Good luck!
Thanks for you help, I managed that fine, though I had also wanted to remove the Hardspl I had used to add WM7. I have tried flashing the stock ROM back (via SD card and via USB) to overwrite it, however it fails to install correctly and the phone is being very unstable. Any suggestions!?
According to the thread I used to flash HSPL to my phone, you just make sure youre running a stock rom, then run the HSPL program like you did when you first put on HSPL, but choose 2.08.0000 in the selection screen.
That said, I havent removed HSPL so Im not entirely sure what to do if that doesnt work. If thats what you tried, Im not sure what to tell you
Have tried fiddling again and think I have done it! In the boot screen it now says SPL-2.08 (hopefully this is stock!?) and the phone seems to be behaving! Cheers for your assisstance

You can changes Radio Roms as you wish under any OS. Just hold the Vol Down key when switching on to enter bootloader and flash via USB from there.

i suggest u use windows 7 (PC) and connect to internet when you are plugging phone to pc ,so it will download the usb driver and all of your problems will disapear

Hmmm I actually havent tried that yet, Ive done pretty much everything aside from reinstalling windows and stuff. I shut off my wireless during the process though because I turned off my antivirus and firewall. Hopefully that will work. WP7 is nice even without being activated, but it certainly doesnt come with many apps.

I've got and repaired HTC. because my old one had that back button problem.
Now I've got a new one. The normal 6.5 software is running OK on it without any hanging.
Then I've installed HardSPL and magldr on it. First I've had installed Windows Phone 7.5. The phone reboots sometimes (wich is normal because of the touch screen driver). But the strange thing is that it hangs sometimes before magldr(at the green HTC logo). Then I've installed an Android (rafpigna 1.8 jeahh oldtimer) rom. It was working better then WP7 but it hangs. It was working great on my old HD2.
Now I've flashed 6.5 back and it's working ok again without reboots and random hangs.
The phone isn't hot or something!
Does anyone know a fix for this?
Is it maybe because hardSPL was installed wrong?

I was using the newest one (2.15??) I've restored him to 6.5 and sending him back to HTC. (Again) I think there is short circuit or something...
Ok, tell me what HTC has said after your phone returns.
