Need help from u guys...
i try to install Net Compact Framework 3.5
in my TouchPro2..
but before the installation finished, there is a pop-up that said error to install..
can somebody help me, any other way to install net cf 3.5..? any tips..? i've already done stopped all applications running, and also make a soft reset but yet, still the same error..
i posted the image below...
Why do u wanna install that? Isn't NetCF 3.5 is preloaded on the ROM?
no.. because i've tried to installed some cabs that requires Net CF 3.5, after install and i want to open the application, there is an error to open.
that's the reason i wanted to installed Net CF 3.5.. :-(
Well did you check if you have any space left on your internal storage? Maybe you filled up your IS accidentally with pictures or videos... If not, I think a hard-rest or re-flash is the only way to go.
well, i forgot to told you that i've already clear my storage to default setting from settings / all settings / system / clear storage.. =D
you tube helped me on installing this app
try this
I was having the same problem on same device. I tried in vain to find a solution online. after poking around my device, i found a file in the root directory - my device - called Microsoft.Net CF.3.5.Log.
I deleted this log file and reinstalled. i think i installed from a cab file copied over to my device.
Matt
hey guys.. thanks to all for postings a good advice..
i'd figured out that there's a microsoft Net CF 3.5
in the root device/windows but i forgot the format for
that file..
i just deleted the file and re-installed Net CF 3.5...
AND IT WORKS..!! successfully installed.. =D
thanx again guys for help..

P.S. "Brins0net_ScreenRotator.exe" -> this file name makes me think you are using a very old version. The latest version is the one at the top of the Gyrator2 download web page. you should have no problems with latest version 2008.11.21.

OK First of all, I have searched the forums and I can't find anything as far as the issue I'm having, so flamers please go easy on me.
I picked up an HTC Touch Pro today and downloaded Diamond TF3D Config (I know it says Diamond but I was told it would work on the Pro as well). I installed it on the phone and when I launch it I get an Error reading:
An unexpected error has occurred in Diamond TF3D Config.exe.
Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information.
Details doesn't really tell me anything. I clicked on the "Solution" in the post where I downloaded the cab file and found the PressureThreshold in my registry but it is already labeled as a REG_DWORD so I'm not sure how to fix the issue I am having.
Please help and thanks in advance!
Check to make sure you have .NetCF 3.5 installed.
As far as I know I do, that was the first thing I did, how would I check it?
How to check goto
Start - settings - remove programs it will show up in the list as Micros soft .net CF 3.5
If you dont have it installed it can be downloaded from here to run from your PC
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...49-3C6B-42F1-9FD9-0041345B3385&displaylang=en
Ok I checked and I do in fact have Microsoft .NET CF 3.5, which is how it's listed in my remove programs box.

plz help me
Hard Reset.....
any other idea ...that will work
Have you installed sdkcert?
Ok, I had this problem last week and I'm happy to say I fixed it. The problem in my case seemed to be related to the number of applications installed. Problem is that you can't uninstall either!
So what you need to do is change the registry. In HKLM\Security\AppInstall you can see all the installed apps. Copy some of the "folders" out of here into the root of security. then check remove programs. you should find that it works now. I had about 80 apps installed. I just uninstalled apps I didn't need then.
Good luck, send me a message if you need help.
Don't just hard reset straight away. It doesn't hurt to play with the phone if the last resort is to hard reset.
I have the same problem. Might be Twikini...
How do a newbie like me get to HKLM\Security\AppInstall...?

Download it from the microsoft website..

Double click the file on your PC.. it will install it on the PC an dthen simultaneously on the Phone.. follow the instructions shown on the phone..
This worked for me:

13. Install Compact Net Framework 3.5 to Make Old Apps Work Again
Some apps you may have used on another phone will not work on the Leo unless you install Compact Net Framework to your phone. Download the cab from the following link and install to Device only - not Storage Card and then reset. http://justpctech.com/PPC/NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab Also make sure your phone is using the 3.5 as default and not 2.0. Go here: HKLM/Software/Microsoft/.NETCompactFramework. Change the DWORD data of entry 2.0.7045.00 from 1 to 0. Next Change the DWORD data of entry 3.5.7283.00 from 0 to 1 and then reset. This disables 2.0 and enables 3.5. Also some apps need the file NETCFv35.Messages.EN.wm. Here is the link to download the file: http://www.mediafire.com/?ommgm3gz13z Install the NETCFv35.Messages.EN.wm.cab to device after you installed NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab and reset./QUOTE]

Thanks for this. I used the 2 .CAB files which I obtained from the modaco site (still haven't installed a registry editor - my bad).
It worked without issue (apart from when I needed to figure out how to soft reset my HD2!).
I've got BSB tweaks working now.
I previously only installed 1 of these cabs, but i guess there no harm installing both if they serve different purposes.
Problems installing Net Framework
Hi Guys. I've got myself into a bit of a problem here. I downloaded an app. When I came to run it, it crashed saying I needed to install net framwork. OK, so no problem as I thought I had it installed already. I checked my installed programs and I could see it was already installed.
So, I uninstalled the app it and tried to reinstal the cab version of Net Framework. But, as soon as it starts the installation process, I get an error message saying that it's already installed in ROM. I rebooted the device thinking that would sort it, but it didn't,
Worst of all, now a load of other programs don't work because they can't find net framework 3.5
Ooo errr - anyone got any suggestions?
Thanks
Steve
check the registry and follow above directions, make sure it's pointing to 3.5 if already installed and not 2.0
net Framework
Hiya
Thanks for replying. Yes, I did follow the above instructions and yes, I have made sure that the registry is pointing to the correct version before I posted my query.
Any other thoughts
Steve
I installed a few apps on my HTC tilt 2 with at&t from some sites. Everything was working fine for a while until my phone started slowing down and freezing alot, so I did a soft and hard reset and it fixed the freezing problems but when I run most of the apps, I get this message, ' This application requires a newer version of the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework than the version installed on this device.' Then it says quit and I hit it and this message comes up in a box, ' .NET CF Initialization Error ' and in the box it states, ' The application failed to load required components. If the .NET Compact Framework is installed on a storage card, please ensure that this card is in place and launch the application again. If this fails, a re-installation of .NET Compact Framework is recommended. Support info: -2147483643 (80000005)' So i downloaded it and get a message saying, ' NETCFSetupv35.msi' and in the box it states, 'There is no application associated with "NETCFSetup35". Run the application first, then open this file from within the application.' I don't know what I'm doing wrong but any help or advise will be appreciated. I don't know much about my phone but I'm pretty sure I did everything right. It all worked before when I installed the apps? Thanks in advance for your help.

Yeah it sounds like you had CF 3.5 on there before but somehow it didn't stay after the hard reset (which indicates it was installed sometime after the phone was first purchased).
The file you downloaded is to install it from your PC, not the phone. Put the cab file I attached here on your phone, run that, and it should resolve the issue
Thanks for your response, when i click on it it get a message saying, 'FIle download failed The requested header could not be located.' i've actually been getting that message a few times with other downloads too. would you know what that means? thanks again for your help.
run this from your computer. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...49-3c6b-42f1-9fd9-0041345b3385&displaylang=en

Hmmm no, never heard of it, and basic searching turns up nothing but lists of odd HTTP error codes, that one included. My guess would be an issue with your browser on your PC, but I really couldn't say for sure.
You can also just run the file Rhodium500 linked to above, it's the same .msi file you put on your phone in the first place but couldn't get to run from there...it's an automated installer that just handles everything from your PC instead of you putting the cab on the phone manually.
thanks alot guys, still have no luck and since my phone is under warranty, i'm gonna get a new one. I got 2 htc tilt 2's and only mine is doing this? i'll be back.
dude getting a new touchpro2 wont help... i dont think... like the guy who posted the attachment said, just install it and it should work. if u cant download it use your friend's computer or the library
Dude I had the same problem and if you wait a few mins Ill find it in the microsoft website so you can try downloading from there. Just run it on your computer, then connect your phone with active sync. Go to programs> More> Add/Remove programs and click on the little box there. (I am not sure if the menu goes like this, im actually sure that it doesnt, but for some reason my phone wont connect the WMDM right now so i cant tell u) anyway dont return the phone just because of that cuz the new one might have a problem thats actually harder to fix
I dont remember where I got it from but Ill try to find the original place where I found it.
Heres the file
Microsoft Website
You can download it straight from their website. Its free and it doesnt hurt
thanks, just tried it and had no luck?? i can't even return my phone until the 12th so i'm still trying to figure it out.
hey everybody, I reset my sync center/active sync and re downloaded that from the microsoft website and it seemed to have fixed the problem. I appreciate your help very much.

Just a hint; it seems that either resetting the device or ActiveSync seems to solve a lot of problems sometimes. Had the same that my device didn't want to accept new Exchange-settings I made on my PC. After resetting both, it worked flawlessly.
