send large files? - Nexus One General

I can't send things via gmail or text on my nexus because it says it's too large :< Any way to fix this? It's really important and not being able to send videos is really killing me as far as gigging goes.

Bump. Anyone? I'd just like to know why i can't.

setup a ftp server, and upload to it, if it's a mac, set the folder to upload to youtube or whateever.

You're either going to have to use the "MMS" setting when you take videos or take shorter videos if you want to send them via MMS.
You can't send video via a TEXT message.

Sorry not an actual solution but I've used Qik for steaming / uploading video on-line with good success (on wifi at least).

use photobucket to send mms

I have a photobucket account and I have sent pictures to photobucket via email. but it didn't don on me until the other day that we can use the direct link that it gives in your email to send mms. what i did was went to photobucket and adjust my mobile settings to NOT link back to my album, i also have mine as privite but i don't know if that helps, but what this will do is when you send a pic to someone they won't be able to look through you whole album...lol. but after that i copy my photobucket upload address, and then put it in my contacts and named it simplely,"photobucket", so when i snap a pic/video i will select the send via email and send it to my photobucket upload address, then photobucket will send you a email telling you that your upload has been successful and it will give you the direct link to that pic.....copy the link then bring up sms put in the person(s) number and paste the link in the message field and you're done it you're just sent a mms via text.....when the person(s) get the message they will click on the link and it will bring up the pic....you can also send videos to photobucket but i haven't tried to send it as a mms yet but it should work....try it for youself it may have a few steps but i think its better than trying to find out and set up all your buddies phone email address especially if you just met the person......but anyway it worked for me, let me know if it worked for you or if you have a better way.
Well well, this actually works. It takes a few steps to get it done, but never the less... it works!
thanks for tryng it i was starting to think no one cared about sending mms or maybe someone has develop some software to fix it....lol but i did run into a problem...i tried to send my girlfriend something but she doesnt have internet service on her phone sooooo she couldn't go to the pic

OT: uploading 8525 videos to blog

I've been trying to figure out a way to upload my 8525 videos to my blogger blog, either directly or via youtube. I haven't figured out a direct way, and youtube's mobile service isn't very good: you either send a video via MMS (which I never do since I have a 600K limit) or you send the video as an email attachment.. I sent a video as an email attachment 4 days ago, and it still hasn't shown up.. Even when it does, there is also no way for the new video to automatically post to my blog.
Is there another way to easily post videos to blogs? Maybe a different video hosting service?
Something like ShoZu looks promising..
Thanks

There's a fairly comprehensive list available at mashable.com. There are many sites that will do what you're looking for... just have to try them out.

Sorry but your question does not make sense. The HD2, like nearly all cameras, takes photos using the .jpg format and they work (as do other jpegs from other devices too, perfectly well. If you can see the photos that you have taken then you are looking at .jpg files in the built-in HTC album app.
Could you please explain more clearly what problem you have and you will get responses from others too I am sure.

I regularly receive emails with jpeg attachments, and I view them without any problems.
What's your problem? Explain more and we can help
mines the same, just shows the red x in the corner of the box,
i think it must be somthing to do with security settings?
perhaps the original question is why the HD Sense email preview can't see html emails?
I get emails from dilbert.com that are html, when viewed in htc sense preview they are funny symbols, then when I click on the mail it goes into windows mail client and then I have to click to allow internet pictures. Perhaps this is what the original post was about?
P.S. any suggestions to make this easier for me would be good, like getting the mail client to remember the show internet pictures would be good.
You may have set e-mail with google sync (direct push) And I think that there is a problem with attachments. Despite google snyc I do not go (. Jpg, pdf, but example. Doc comes normally)
If we set the standard through the adoption of e-mail account with attachments is no problem
And so I think that google sync using a scheme that does not support a lot of attachments: (
Anyone knows solution to this problem?
IMAP email not downloading JPGs
I am having a very similar issue. I receive email via IMAP from a netaddress.com account. JPG attachment are simply not downloaded. they do not show, not even a placeholder in the message. I have set the phone to download full messages with all attachments - but no hint that a JPG is a attached to the message.
Any ideas?
Microsoft set the security on the Outlook client to not download embeded images in HTML mail.
Just open the mail up and click the download internet pictures option at the top of the mail and the images will be downloaded, and before you ask there is no-way (we have found) to disable this feature.
I have the same problem...
Both with google and imap, when I get mails with attachments I see the attachments, can click on them to download them, but then when clicking to open them I get a message saying "Unable to display document", even with simple JPGs. No way to open any image from the mail client, which is highly annoying. Anyone got an idea?
Embedded images don't work with google as mentioned, but they're fine on IMAP.
Similar problem
On my TP2 I have similar problem. In addition, when I save JPG attachment from message downloaded by IMAP account, it has zero size (0 b). Other attachments (e.g. BMP) are OK.
I have it too but it has to do something with Coreplayer of TCPMC (whatever it is called)
Coreplayer takes over all media systems when you install it. Normally i went to options and unchecked the JPEG box. But now even that does not help anymore.
So basiclly you have to change it somewhere in the options in your phone I just do not know where.
HELP!!! can't see jpg format from email attachment
On my HTC Touch HD I have the same problem.
On my IMAP account I can see a message with attachments. If they are jpg file type, after I mark and download them, they have zero size (0 b).
Other attachments (e.g. ZIP, CAB, etc) are OK.
Can anybody help us to solve this situation?

Email and Bluetooth issues

Today I tried to send an email with a picture attached from my phone to three seperate email accounts and all failed - I was trying to send via 3g as wireless was not available in my office. Why would this be? Is there a file size limit on emails? The picture was only 650kb as it was taken from my phone.
After the email failed I tried to send a picture via bluetooth to my mac - there was no option that I could find to transfer the file in either File Explorer, the photo album or anywhere else! I also tried to send the email via bluetooth (an option i'm not aware of on many other phones) but the mac could not receive it, and my mates' phone could not read the file type.
What's going on here? Why is it my friends with an iPhone can email/bluetooth etc etc with little or no effort. I had to get my friend to take the picture again on their rubbish iphone camera instead.
Could someone help me set up the bluetooth better and explain to me what i'm doing wrong with my mail (for the record, other emails get sent fine)\
Any help / advice would be welcome. Thank you!

Email attachments

I can't seem to download attachments if they're audio files. Is there a way to fix that or a app that can help. I have a aol email account if that info is helpful
I also cant download .doc file that are attached to emails, so a way round this would be great.
That's strange... I can save .doc and .m4a from the standard mail app without problems.
You could try using K-9 Mail app instead, though. I like that one much better.
whenever i want to attached something, its always only a picture, how can i change it, for example i want to attached doc or music, etc, seems i cant find a way to do it. anyone care for a helping hand? much appreciated
Choose another file besides an image?
@ mark- have you got a file size limit set on your mail account? or on your phone?

Sent from my X10i
It seems that the default Mail app only allows us to add photos as attachments. In a way that makes SOME sense, because that is the only filetype that the phone can create (by default).
K-9 mail app allows me to add music as attachment.
K-9 also forwards any file type. Unable to test forward of attachments in Mail, it seems to time out...
