QTEK 9100 in Russian - How to get it in English ?

Hi !
I recently bought a QTek 9100 "Deluxe" while passing by Moscow ! The version is in Russian and I was convinced I could manage to get it into English , but .........
When trying it, probably as it is a G4 device, I can not do anything !
Could anyone advice please ?

If you can navigate a little in russian, try hitting start-->setting--> go to the second tab at the bottom (system) and then regional setting (looks like a globe) and in the first tab there is a drop down menu that will allow you to change the language. Then, do a reset and your language should change. I've never actually done this so I'm not gauranteeing it will but I remember running across a post once saying that it would. It's worth a try anyway.

Look through the options until you see (this is as close as I can do in roman rather than cyrillic)...
Ye3NK (only the N is backwards - this is "language" - the E may be curvy with two dots above it)
AH7nNCKN (with the 7 and Ns displayed backwards and "n" is very like the maths symbol for pi - is "English")
Alternately look up each of the letters in "yezik" and "angliski" here for the exact picture...

I dont have cyrillic on this server, but even if i did you would need it installed too or you will just see mainly vowels with phonetic symbols above.

Unfortunately I tried before and the "international" language is already selected on "English", but all menus etc. remain in Russian.
I had a talk this morning with the national provider of QTek of my country stating that there were no way, but through the net with some 80 % risk that the mobile would simply crash and be of no use !
I would really appreciate if anyone would have a "positive" experience in this regard.

"ftp://" if you have this, you have to copy this to the address bar of your browser, then you wil see something like list of folders and files.
Click on the files you want, then it will start to download.
Looks like you need to navigate here:
go ftp://[email protected] find ''Uploads'' folder, then ''WIZARD'', then "Unlocking''
and copy all staff to your computer

I brought my mobile today to a specialist, but he said that the Russian version was more advanced than the English one he had, and could not downgrade in Russian !

Well, i am russian, i don't have G4 Wizard, but on russian forums
a lot of people had done upgrade and downgrade G4, so you need another spesialist

About WM6 I have read and understood that it is not yet stable, but if you have any advice would be much appreciated !
It seems the downgrade of the Russian version is a kind of must as no equivalent version in English could be found.

why am I getting German websites?

I am in the UK, the regional settings are (obviously) set to UK and English language, I use O2, but every time I do a search on Opera, I get a list of German language websites, never English ones.
What is going on? Somehow, the browser is telling the outside world that I am in Germany, but I am not.
How do I change this?

This topic was brought up already in another thread, try using the search function next time.
It is due to the fact that O2 uses German IP addresses I believe. The original thread has more detail on the topic.

search didn't show anything - I'll try some other search terms, but thanks for the info in the mean time.

Click 'search this forum' and use german results as the search term

Sadly the answer lies in editing a hard coded file, not so easy.

I was having the same problem too. For me, the link posted above doesn't work and searching this forum for 'german results' only returns this thread.
However, I believe I have managed to fix it. My understanding of German is not good but one of the links at the bottom of the google results page turned out to be Preferences. Guess what - one of the options is Language. It seems like Google leaves a cookie or something and since I made the prefs change, all my results have been in English!

thanks for this tip - I have checked both mobile and grown-up Google, and they both show my language as English (UK) (which is correct) - I don't seem to be getting any more German pages, although I had never changed the settings.

It becomes more of a problem in the UK within certain websites.
I cannot use my phone to buy lottery tickets because the site thinks im outside the UK. It is very annoying and a solution would be gladly received

Im new to the whole Windows Mobile world and having serious issues with adding keyboards, fonts, etc... Ive always had Blackberry and im used to using and modding that, figured it was time to move on and got the HD2 and now im confused as hell! Can someone please post links, how to, to download the HTC IME keyboard? Also how to add fonts? this is really irritating.. Ive searched and searched and still cant figure out how to get the keyboards and fonts on my phone ... Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just curious, but where did you find the buttons and such? Posting link-backs will give us a chance to see what you are talking about instead of trying to guess.
Did they not have instructions on how to install them?
Did you perchance download the versions meant for chefs, that are designed to be cooked in the kitchens and not installed directly?
Also, for me, please refrain from big caps in your post title when asking about such matters. Let's leave that for the folks with bricked phones, k?

Adding fonts into WinMo is much the same like WinPC. Just put it into \Windows\Fonts directory.
But on further reading and 2nd guessing what you are trying to say above, it appears that you want to be able use that installed font when the keyboard is activated. Is that correct ?
Isn't HTC IME keyboard already available in the HD2 ? Or are you looking for different language input ?
FYI, I had a bad experience with trying to add Traditional Chinese input capability when installing an extracted HTC Ezinput IME from another stock ROM. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611894&page=2

Zen, Thanks for the reply! When i connect my HD2 to the PC (running on Vista) i cant access ny Windows folder on the phone for some reason, so i cant add a font .. No, the HD2 does not come with the IME keyboard. I am just looking for a English version to download for a Windows device.. If i google it, everything comes up for a Droid.

Was you phone connected via ActiveSync or "Disk drive mode" ?
I can't remember off my head but one of them - I take my bet on ActiveSync - will make Windows folder inaccessible. You could have copy into "My Document", remove phone from PC and then move it again via File Explorer.
I still don't get the part about HTC IME that you don't have . What it the ROM version you have ? Go to Start > Settings > About Phone > Software Information. Post the info.
There is Swype, Finger keyboard in the forum. Search for it.
Gotta go offline 24-hr in the next 15 mins or so.

IME stands for Input Method Editor i.e. on-screen software keyboard.
I am using QQ pinyin input which allows me to input Traditional Chinese. The option to select HTC's default IME, which is called Ezinput, is still there. I do not see the need to use HTC IME since QQ pinyin input has all the capabilities and more. Since HTC IME is in the ROM, I can't remove it either without flashing a cooked ROM.
So how do you type/input text into any apps ?

To make the windows available you need to have your PC set to show protected files. On a side not please watch the swearing in the forums.

My mistake, I thought the actual keyboard i wanted was called the HTC IME.. So, How do i DL and install a diff keyboard without the arrows at the bottom? Whats the best one? Thanks!

You want something like in the screenshot.
That's the QQ input I talked about. No, I don't think it is suitable for you since you do not require chinese input.

I came across one software which allows for Chinese input, released in May 09 but had read forum complaints about paid users who was not able to get it to work on WM6.5 and that software company acknowledged it. I finally settled on QQ input although it is still in beta which I normally would not even consider installing.

You'll be surprised how many languages it comes with, try more locale on the market and see if your locale is available

Unfortunately it doesn't come with Indonesian. And am sure there are many other popular languages missing.
So I would like to know a better answer to the question of the OP also.

I want to make hungarian language, 'cause I think its not made for the Legend. I searched it for day and night but I can't find it on the internet. So my straight question is: how to make and add an extra language to my phone?

[Q] I lost my hebrew

Hi everyone,
I have a big problem, i don't know what happened, but suddenly the hebrew disapeared from my samsung keyboard. As usual, when I want to input hebrew text, i swype the space bar to switch to hebrew. And two days ago i had lost my hebrew keyboard and all was left was english(US) and french.
So I checked out the languages in the parameters. I still have the hebrew in the menu languages, as well as in the speech recognition from google, but it has disapeared from the input list of the samsung keyboard. actually I found it back in the trash of this list. So thinking I could restore it by downloading it again from the server if it was really deleted I emptied the trash, sadly nothing happened, no new language to download when updating from the server.
Has anyone got a clue ?
I guess hebrew is flagged as deleted somewhere in the parameter files, so it is no longer proposed to download.
Btw, my phone is a Galaxy S4, of course, GT-I9505 JDQ39.I9505XXUBMEA Android 4.2.2 rooted.
