Do you know any software for Windows Mobile 5 to recording conversations automatically ? I have 1gb card , can record over 20 hours of quite good quality conversations.
Do you know any soft which will do it automatically after I answer or call to somebody ?

I have just looked on the Vito Technology site but on the PPC version it mentions nothing about telephone conversation recording so I am assuming it doesn't offer this feature on the PPC, just on Smartphones .. is this correct?

I've tried "Vito Audionotes" and "Resco Audio Recorder" and both got the same problem on TyTN; both only records your side so are useless...
Yes, it is a problem Viva, the way I have got round this is by using the Tytn headphones to make a call but I just wear one earpiece in my ear and I hold the other earpiece next to the inline microphone (you could even tape it there).
I have only ever used the inbuilt note recorder before so when I saw this thread I was hoping that there was 3rd party software out there that would record the other side of the conversation automatically so I wouldn't have to do it this way.
Anyway, thought I would mention my method in case it helps anyone
How about this

1) Download either or both of applications below - NOTE: PM Recorder will only work with some Smartphones, not Pocket PC Phone Edition devices.
what is the differebce between PPC Phone and Smartphone ?
I thought my TyTN is a Smartphone but now I think it's a PPCPhone ..
So, there is nothing which can record conversations. It's a pity , phone with so big storage should have this option built-in... what you think ?
The option with some server which will keep my records it's not good for me, I wouldn't let anybody to send my conversations anywhere..
Ok, I will be still looking for some solution and let you know if find any..
Cheers guys.
Yes, TyTn is a PocketPC phone. The most obvious difference is that Smartphones do not have a touchscreen and have a numeric pad.
My C500 (Typhoon) Smartphone wouldn't record telephone conversations either, so I don't think that it's PPC specific. The incoming call simply isn't passed through the OS for it to be recorded.
I read somewhere (sorry, can't remember where) that it was a conscious decision by Microsoft as some operators didn't want that functionality and they were trying to get as many operators onboard as possible. But Nokias can record conversations - even without a beep notification to the caller - so this info may not be correct.
Guys, please DO use the forum serach engine. I've long answrred these question in ALL call recording-related threads started before June 2006.

LivePVR
Moi herra Ruotsalainen. Your article doesn't mention LivePVR from Softtrends. I tried it and it works, but not for the purpose I wanted it. I am looking for a proper answering machine for WM5, like SmartAnswer I had on my old Nokia 6600.
Hmm...
LivePVR does not work in recording phine calls. They finally admitted this on the handango product page, too. You will need to use it in "speaker" mode like all others... Its just technically not possible.
Well, I have just read the article about recording via the speakerphone but I still prefer my method which I mentioned earlier in this thread.
My method records both sides of the conversation, I think the recording I get is better quality than when you record via speakerphone and the conversation remains private ... I am quite happy with my workaround
When I have wizard, i use SPWM5CallRec.cab (somewhere on the forum) and ....hmm it's record all? (don't remember for 100%).

It will not record the other party's voice, as has already been pointed out in my article (see link above).
However, i's still teh best call recorder app available for the PPC, particularly if you use the WAV postconverter I've discussed in the article.

They did false advertising? Everyone who paid for that pretty crapy app could sue them for that. After all, the day after they've released LivePVR I've pointed out in my review it's NOT able to record the other party. That is, they were surely able of the app's inability of this.

Yup, it directly doesn't mention it; however, the Audio Recorder Bible (linked in from the PMRecorder article; http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/menneisyys/112005SoundRecorderApps.asp ) does and it also links in the related LivePVR review ( http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=1218&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 )
The extend of my test was one phone call. I realise now that I did the test with the speaker on.
Microphone picking up the sound from the speaker . . . bleeding edge, huh?
So finally...
I started this thread once again , I know, there is a lot about that on this forum. I just wanted to put this in to TyTN section, because I was dreaming that this model has no hardware restriction and maybe somebody wrote good app for recording phone calls.
I see, it's still impossible to do that on such a gadgetty mobile phone...
It's a pity....
If anybody find the solution please continue this thread or even send me a message please.

I'm continuously pushing the issue in internal MS forums. Hopefully HTC / MS changes its approach and does implement what Nokia, Ericsson, Siemens etc have been offering for 7-8 years.

I can't wait to get my hands on Xperia.
And yes, i know this is not an Xperia only thing, but rather a Windows Mobile Software... but still!
Best regards.
about to try it.
tried it...works pretty well - it has settings to specifically announce stuff over bluetooth - will work a treat with my car I reckon.
Doesnt pick up my voice all that well though - mind you, i do have manflu at the mo.

Cool!
So tell me one thing, do you have to hit the button on the mobile each time to issue a command? Just wondering if it can sit dominant and not require you to hit a button first?

You need to press a button to attract its attention. This can be a button on a bluetooth headset, which is where the software really comes into its own.
Voice Command Xperia - Problem
Hi all VC working except that it does not read out the number/name on incoming calls. All the right boxes are ticked in the options as I have used MSVC for the past two years. Can anyone confirm this working or not on your Xperias. I have tried all the version for 6.1 roms. Thanks all.
I know this problem has been in existence for years (Tytn). See other threads for this problem on XDA, sorry, can't provide link at this time.
i tryed it but dint like.
I`m using vito voice2go and that works for me much better.

VC 1.6
or go to tpb... where i got it... (im the dude in the video)
In t-mobile version in germany there is an other voice dialing system already installed. I forget the name but this must program must be trained therefore you have to speak a word or some words and associate this with a number/command.
This tool was already used on the tmobile ameo and for me it worked not very good. The recognition of named was not very good when many named has been trained.
The windows mobile voice command solution is much better and works fine on my x1 .
I saw the youtube video and was very surprised because I didn't know the features for music playing. Maybe I have to look for them. I have the german 1.6 version intalled.
best regards,
stefan

SKYPE or FRING on Earpiece Speaker?? How??
Im really happy with my new Xperia but I have bought mainly to use it with Skype, SkypeIN and Skype Out..
The problem is that newest Skype Mobile for Pocket Pc and also newest FRING for pocket PC work only through the loudspeaker or a headset.
That is really ridiculous and impossible to have a normal conversation over a loudspeaker which creates a huge echo with the inbuilt microphone.
Is there any easy to use application allowing us to redirect VOICE at Skype or Fring into Earpiece regular speaker??
I have found Switch which is causing a lot of hassle to be used with newest Skype.
Another versions of SKYPE and FRING have been released but there is still no support for internal earpiece speaker in xperia.
Do you know any other ways to normally use Skype over the gprs/3g on Sony Xperia X1??
Best
Michael
How did you not find the answer immediately by searching? If you type almost anything sensible into almost any appropriate search box you'll come across the solution, which is a program called Troca2 (commonly referred to on here as SkypeFix since someone made a zip file with that name).

Its starting to look a lot like christmas.
not, what im looking for..
Of course I have found it here but thats not what Im looking for AT45.
Its not a fix, its a solution to redirect all the sounds.
How do you suppose to know when someone is going to call you to turn this software on in advance.
How are you going to use your phone all day without the sounds and ringtones?
Its not a solution at all for serious skype, fring users. Im looking for something which changes skype / fring only and doesnt redirect all the sounds in to the ear piece.
It should be a dedicated fix or registry change for skype / fring calls ONLY with the rskype/fring ringtones working of a loudspeaker.
Best
Michael
Use an earpiece will work perfectly
What is Fring, Nimbuzz and Skype support doing about it? Do they know? Maybe a few more people need to tell the programmers of thoose skype clients about this problem.
Works finally with FRING !!!

I have emailed both companies and got NO replies saying that it cant be done in the near future...
However FRING people has done it. That works fine with FRING now !!!!!!!!
There are still some minor issues about fring loosing connection and only available status can be used but at least FRING is better using skype protocole than skype itself.
Best

Im not exactly sure how it ended up on my original build, i think i went to skype.com/m and just downloaded it, but when i do that now (with the new rom) it says "there's no version for your phone"
Is their a way i can get it installed again now that ive flashed a cooked rom? (as i don't see it already in the rom itself.)
As usual, i find the answer soon after making a post.

Problems with Skype mobile
On my phone sky mobile runs only thru loud speaker. Maybe it is a good thing that skype discontinued support for Windows Mobile, no one has to waste time on that crappy thing anymore. I always switch to desktop when I receive or have to make skype calls.
Go to Skype.com and download the .cab file.
can somebody upload the cab file here... skype site is blocked from here, but not the software service... having hardtime to download the cab...thanks in advance
you can still get it from here:

but the WM support is according to golem.de deffinetly over now
That's a shame, it was working quite well through a headset...

The download is actually a 10.5MB .exe package, so I can't even zip it up and attach here. If you have e-mail that can accept a file that big, PM me and I'll be happy to get it to you that way
EDIT: I actually have just the .cab too after all...but it's even bigger (11.5MB)

I was really hoping this thread would have said "Hey, skype isn't going through speakerphone anymore on the TP2..." but no such luck. If Skype had no intention of fixing that horrible issue, then I really have no interest in its service on my mobile, anyway. It is disappointing, however, I used to use it on my Blackjack II and it worked great.

But not by itself. You have to use Audioroute (http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=freeware), this program will route any sound either to the earspeaker or backspeaker. Just start it before Skype and you'll be able to use it like doing a regular phonecall.

Thanks, it seems useful, but not really enough. Personally I like to leave Skype active as a second line on the phone... which means I'd have to manually start it before every call (even incoming). If I were to just start it up on occasion to make a call, it'd be an easy Mortscript, but I'll have to see if there is something a little more sophisticated that I can write.
i just used skype today on my TP2 with the sound piped to my bluetooth earpiece. no issue at all and no 3rd party software required

Thanks. Now the only problem is my ear will touch some certain onscreen buttons and get in the way and when I turn the screen off, skype phone conversation stops working. I know a simple earpiece or bluetooth device solves everything but I don't like using neither.
Is there any other way I can turn off the screen and still have a phone conversation on skype?

No way I have ever found. Without headphones Skype on WM uses speakerphone capabilities only. I waited for Skype to fix this and the way the finally fixed is to drop support for WM all together.
Use this. Just route all audio to main ear piece before you start skype

Skype
I love skype on my winmo, and have used it often. Audio Route IS the answer that i have found, and it does work great.
One issue with Audio Route, is the icon in the taskbar is affected by WIndows Mobile 6.5.5, and the icon shrinks to an almost unuseable state.
Are there any other options besides audio route for routing audio to the earpiece?
Thanks,
Brandon
Wow is this topic really that dead? I would think using skype on oUr windows mobile is still one of the better claims to fame.
