i cant just use regualar text messages

i just got my tmobile wing and i cant text only send emails all it says when i go to messaging is to create a new account please help!

Info please. What ROM are you running? What cabs do you have installed?

error sending and receiving picture messages

i hard spl'd my phone and now i am unable to send or receive picture messages under mms.....it asks me to download but is unable to download or send after countless tries.....anybody have this problem or know a fix?

It is usually the Arcsoft software. I use this copy of Arcsoft I renamed it so I can not verify the source and give them credit so my apologies to them but they were from these forums.

i installed the attachment...but now under my messages i only have text message and no mms...how do i get those?

did you reboot the device?
If all the options are missing you might need to install 2 cabs in succession to get all the files to make it completely operable.
Please reboot and post you results.

still no luck...even if i send a picture messages withing my text message screen a message appears saying unable to send message

Did you run the network wizard?

yes i did and rebooted....is it because i dont have the rom justme?

No it should not be that.
What ROM you using?
Is your MMS interface complete? Do you have MMS options?

on the last attachment...is the gateway and server adress the same for every phone? i think that is my problem

the rom is canonyang hard spl wm6...and i tried the server thing and it still doesnt work....this is really pissin me off...do you know of a hard spl version that does have a working mms feature....

You only HardSPL once. After that you install roms. This is my understanding how it works and has worked for me this way.

[Q] problem with Evolution X 3 - messaging application

Hi,
After installing custom Rom Evolution X 3, messaging application is not working well.
I mean for composing new message, screen size is very less, there is not much space.
it showing only one line.
As this is my first post, I'm not able to add image link here, for better explanation.

yes, as i write a message, lines keep moving upward, but i'm not able to see full message or more than one ya two line simultaneously.
Even if i wants to send a one big message copy paste then its very difficult to check the message.
Full message can able to see after sending the message.

u can go back to stock messaging app by extracting it from a back up or from any other rom.
or use the cyan mobile msging app in the app and themes sec
it has loads of features

uhmm!i dont have stock msg app
i hardly use the inbult msg app
all my msgs are taken care by whatsapp
if u want to extract msg app use winzip /winrar or any file xtracting softwre for windows and extract from odin package or nan backup

SMS/MMS info gone.

Hi,
I figured this could happen to any custom flashed rom, but since the Omega rom thread is overrun I assumed, me having this problem alone will go unseen.
My problem is that the information normally showing at the lockscreen and the pulldown menu is gone. All it says is "Messaging New message", nothing about who the sender is or the text in the message.
Has anyone come across this problem before and might have an idea on how to solve it?

go to messages / setting / notification settinf / tick preview messages and done

I have handcent and trying to find where sms's are kept / stored on phone.
Can't seem to see anything even in handcent folder?
Please help.

They're stored here: /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databeses/mmssms.db
*EDIT: That app is very old for this new firmwares. If you want backup/recover your SMS, use this ONE. It's very good.

do i need any specific software to locate those folders.
Im trying to see if i can recover some sms i deleted couple weeks back. Dont know if there afe any logs stored. by handcent?
Trief Dr Fone it couldnt even find curfent sms so failed there.
