Cache Reg Settings - HD2 General

After looking on the forums i have changes the opera cache setting to my storage card.......Is there reg setting so I can move google maps cache to storage card. Also same goes for YouTube.
Where does the Facebook album files get downloaded to and can that be moved to storage card.

Anyone help?

I haven't found a registry setting to move the Google Maps cache but I have moved it and all seems to be well so far. Move the 'Program Files\Google Maps' folder to the 'Program Files' folder on your card. Do the same with 'Application Data\Google Maps' and move it to the 'Application Data' folder on your card. Create a shorvut to GoogleMaps.exe on the storage card and use this go run the program.

I have played with Google Maps some more and decided to try the latest version, 4.0. It installs happily to storage and puts its cache there too. Everything works apart from showing where GPS photographs were taken on the map. This problem can be overcome by making sure that Google Maps is already running and is logged into Latitude. If it isn't, a 'resource_loader' error results. I think this might be a bug in Google Maps itself.

Main Memory Nearly Full!!

I have just noticed that my memory is nearly full. (Only 6mb left)
Is there any software that can remove junk from here???
I don’t install software to this only to the storage card so I don’t understand how it can be full.
Any ideas anybody???
Steve
try using memmaid
If you use the Opera Browser try to clear the Cache
sometimes there are over 20MB on my Diamond!
Google Maps Mobile keeps a cache file that can get quite huge (mine was 27mb). It's in Application Data/GoogleMaps.
If you run GoogleMaps download the new version from m.google.com/maps and when you install it you have it removes the old version completely then asks where you would like to install the new one, opt for the Internal Storage, memory regained and no more clearing the Google Maps cache
Found the same if you install the Opera 9.7 Beta, that can be 'replaced' to the internal storage and therefore any cache can be kept forever (upto a 4 gig limit obv). I also deleted the 'Opera' folder out the Windows directory after installing the new version and this cleared up around a further 6mb, Only recommend installing the new Opera if you don't mind a glitchy browser, I have gone back to stock for now tho.
Also, try moving the 'My Documents' directory from the root to the Internal Storage, everything still works the same.
Hope this helps...

[help] Installed googlemaps on storage, loose compass function

Hi guys, to move the googlemaps cache I installed the googlemap cab from the web, and deleted the cache and original \program files\googlemaps With this I gained a some space on internal storage.
Compass aplication check for a googlemap installed on internal memory (if dosnt found it the option to set destiny dosnt appear at all) so I copied the new googlemaps there so I have the option in compass and still googlemaps runs from the SD.
The problem? when I click set my destiny it return an error.
Can someone upload the original googlemaps directory located in \program files\googlemap please?

youtube Application indicates "Storage Full"

Anybody encounter this issue?
I checked the internal and external memory card, both still have more than 40% of free space.
anybody can help me?
Your phone memory is prob really low, maybe under 9mg or something like that
You might need to unistall some programs from the phone and on to your memory card instead
yes, it happens when your internal memory is less. uninstall some files on the internal memory. it happened with me after i installed lot of gameloft games...they install on device.
maybe you can try installing youtube on your storage card. the cab can be found in m.youtube.com/app
I get this alot too, go to file manager, windows, youtube, menu, edit, select all, back to menu, delete. And also go to Opera, and clear the cache
delete cache files in applications/album and google maps cache..also install the new gmaps 4.x version on the sd card and uninstall the older version on the internal memory..........it helped me and now i have 50 MB free space

low on internal storage memory?, read this:

It seems that opera9 keeps all cab files you downloaded in the folder:
windows/opera9/profile/download/
I bet you opera10 does the same.
I had about 79MB of application cab files there, using up internal storage memory, which I did not need, and had no idea were there.
I found them using 'treesize mobile', available on the marketplace for free.
Also, I checked the program files folder and found that applications which I had previously uninstalled still had folders in there with files in them.

My HD2 storage space is depleting. What do I do?

I removed some applications to regain some storage space but it is depleting constantly. I cannot figure it out why. I use SD card to keep Opera cache. How can I prevent the storage space from depleting? Thanks.
I had same problem. I realised that when iuse you tube hundreds of files download temporary in system/windows/you tube. So delete that folder completely. But you will loose your history. And see in the folder system/application data/htc/ htc album/cache. And delte all files except maptable and thumbcaches. These files are not needed. and it also weighs a lot.
Thanks a lot Urvansh. I deleted all the files in htc album/cache except maptable and thumbcaches as you suggested. The files I deleted had taken about 18MB.

Go check out Clear Temp which is a great little app that helps you keep most of those pesky temp folders cleaned out and not using memory resources.
