Kinda new to all this, and have no idea how to restore the HTC Widgets. I clicked on "+", then "HTC Widget", and nothing is there
Any assistance would be great! THanks in advance.
just reflash or take the HTC apk's from the zip and load them with astrofile. This has happened to me before. I have no idea why but they do reload.
step 1: do a search of this in damagecontrol v1's thread.
step 2: read step 1 again
step 3: go to Settings> Application> Manage applications
step 4: find HTC Sense, click it
step 5: press Clear Data
Also, try.
Try going to Setting > Applications > Manage Applications > HTC Sense > Clear Data. Reboot
This happens quite a bit with the 2.1 ROMs
To quote Obannvi, "Damnit, the search must be broken... AGAIN!"
Hahh.. Uh, Go to settings, manage applications, HTC Sense then push 'clear data'. That should do the trick.
Thanks for the help. I tried doing a search, but the results were like finding, should I say it, a needle in a haystack.
Thanks!!

Hi all, hope someone can help me.
I want Windows Live Messenger and Facebook IM to run continuously on my phone and be online permanently to receive messages.
But if i leave them running and go back to my phone later they appear to have closed down and i have to open them back up and sign in again, and more importantly may have missed an important message as i have been offline!
I have the 'X Closes The Application' option off so i can minimise them easy, and i know they do get minimised because i see them in the Task Manager, but almost everytime i go to look at my phone again they have closed themselves, and only very few times are they still running.
I am running 'udK Syrius Topaz R2' ROM
Anyone know why this is happening?
You have some memory hungry app which take their memory away.
And WinMo shuts them down when there is not enough memory left for them.
I heard that it should be possible to start them as a service but i dont know how that works. If you find the answer pls share it in this thread.
Thank you for your reply, i had a feeling this might be a reason.
I now wonder what programme it may be thats steeling all my memory away!
I will hunt around and see if i can find out how to run programmes as services, if i find out i will post the answer here.
In the mean time if anyone else knows how to do this please tell us?!
please check the following:
Open Advanced Config
go to HTC Task Manager
Set Auto Kill to Disabled if its not there already

Thanks for the tip. I have a problem with FingerKeyboard and ChangeScreen, they stop working after +24 hrs w/o soft reset... I'll try this and see if it helps.

Thank you! This did it! No more problems! =)
So the long story short I uninstalled WA3 because it didn't really suit my needs, but I was shocked to discover that the task manager (the tab on the upper right hand corner) had gone completely missing. Unfortunately it's something I use, a lot, due to OCD tendencies. So I need it, but seeing as this is a brand new Tilt II and I just invested a lot of hours installing programs I'd really like to AVOID flashing the ROM.
So I'm keeping fingers crossed that there's a .cab that'll restore it or even better someone to barge in and say "You're a moron, go to this setting and check this box", because although that would be embarassing on my part, it would also be quick and easy to fix.
Thanks in advanced, I tried searching before making a thread but I didn't find anything pertaining to the question.
Unfortunately, I don't have anything that can help you, but I just wanted to tell you that your topic title is hilarious.
Thanks, I'm hoping it gets more attention if I'm funny about it
Have you already checked the options (TouchFlo Settings tab>Menu "All Settings">System tab>Task Manager) to see if it's actually switched on?
Yeah, check your task manager settings...it is as simple as checking a check box to get the HTC X Button to show in the taskbar.
Start>>Settings>>System>>Task Manager>>"Button" Tab>>Check "Enable Quick Menu on Today screen"
I've been in this situation before...took me ages to find it!

Thanks but I've already done that.
What I have on the handset is all the twitters/posts/threads I have unfollowed, I want to be able to remove these
Log out of Twitter in the 'Data Settings' page in phone settings and it will remove all tweets, you can then resync your phone to Twitter and it'll get the ones of people you're following...

AH, log out and back in.
twitter tab - menu - settings - tap the top section(account settings) it will clear the cache when you log out, when you log back in it will refresh.
Oh, hang on, maybe it wont..... lol, pretty sure i tried that before and it worked, but just tried now and it didnt......
\Application Data\HTC\Twitter contains photo, you can clear it, it'll sync back
\Temp\TwiEng contains all the post in database. I usually delete it out every few days
make sure you turn off sense first because if Twitter tab is running, it'll lock the file in Temp and you cannot delete it (not sure if you log off, it'll still lock those file or not).
Your right, if you log out and log back in all the tweets are still there. I have considered creating another twitter account to see if switching accounts clears the cache. I also dont think it clears any old tweets automatically so this is an ever growing problem, the longer the device is used without a hard reset the more it will fill and the more lag there will be.
Im not technically minded to suggest anything else, i have tried to find the cache file in explorer but failed.
Can Any of you very clever people out there help on this one?
(yet another poorly tested buggy part of the HD2 .... but hey means we will never get bored )
I went into Data services in the main phone settings tab and turned it off using the toggle. It said it will clear all tweets. I logged back in using the toggle and signed in and had to get them down fresh...

Your right thats what it says, but i dont think thats what its doing. When I do exactly that it does appear to clear them but if you check after its reloaded the tweets, all the tweets are there going right back to your last hard reset (in my case 29th Jan) I have twitter set to download just the last 50 tweets but there are hundreds between the 29th and today.
I have also tried loggong into a fresh twitter account with no tweets, but when I log back into my main one they are still all there. This must be down to a cache file not being cleared properly, question is... where is the little blighter????????

Setting tab -> Menu -> All Setting -> Today -> Items tab -> uncheck HTC Sense then OK out 2 times. Delete file, and then follow same step to check HTC Sense then OK out all the way.

dude, 2 days ago it worked. but today the temp folder is suddenly missing. any idea why? thanks.
First off I'll start by saying I have tried this on my phone (custom rom obviously) and on both my sister's and father's phone, both of which ran the official sprint update... don't ask me why.
Anyway, I came across this screwing around a couple months ago when I wanted to reset my PRI, and apparently it still works with 2.1 roms.
Before doing this make sure you have aLogcat. Also its easier to find your MSL if you go into logcat and "clear log" before doing these steps.
**Refer to the attached pictures if you get lost**
So step 1 is to go to your dialer and enter ##DATA# or ##3282# which will bring up the EPST menu
Once the menu pops up just select "View Mode"
At this point you will see a screen with 3 selections.
From here either press and hold the Home Key and select aLogcat if you ran it before, go to your tray and run Logcat.
After opening Logcat it will update, once it finishes press "Menu" and "Pause" the log.
Then scroll until you see a group of entries labeled "I/EpstBroadcastReciever" which should be green
Locate the line that has "MSL Code=" at the end of it
Edit: Or press Menu and Filter "MSL" (thanks wjason)
And there you have it, your 6-digit MSL code without ever calling sprint or using a computer.
Please let me know if this actually works for you guys as I have only been able to test it on 3 phones so far.
Worked like a charm. Thanks.
If you are going to use the MSL to fix your PRI after getting the code, just make sure you copy your last nandroid off the sd card, because if you are like me, it won't restore properly after the reboots. Didn't have a copy, so I got to rebuild everything.
Holy crap, im gonna try... thank you, thank you!
Confirmed that it worked... thank you!
Confirmed. Great find
This should be pinned, it really comes in handy.
Once you pause it look for I/Eps....Really I looked for I/ and then Eps.
Worked for me
Worked here. Vote this gets stickied!
this worked for me also, thank you great find!
Ive posted this at ppcgeeks, hope you don't mind OP.
You rock!
I just verified this works and wanted to say thank you.
I'm glad its working and that I could help. I figured since lately I've seen threads about changing/"fixing" your PRI and such I should do this quick write up.
Would've posted this months ago I just kept forgetting about it when I signed on; as I was constantly distracted looking at all the new rom updates and flashing

I am using Android on my HTC HD2 for around 3 months now and I am really excited... It is like buying an totally new phone. The only major issue I have is that the calendar does not work!!! I always get the message
"The process com.htc.calendar stopped unexpectedly.... OR
"The process com.htc.bpg stopped unexpectedly....
Any help is appreciated
I'm bumping this thread as I'm having the same problem... I can't use anything calendar-related in Android without getting "The process com.htc.calendar stopped unexpectedly"
I'm currently using MCCM v3.4 (continuation of Darkstone's FroyoStone) but it's been the case since I got this phone with FroyoStone 3.0 and remained when I upgraded to 3.2. I'm also using a stock(-ish) 2.10 WM ROM... at the moment.
Any suggestions as to where to look/tweak?
Thanks in advance.
Bumping again.
So... many views (177 as I type this) and no responses. Can I assume from this that the original poster and I are the only ones experiencing this sort of issue?
I'd really, really, really like to be able to use a calendar in android!

There seem to be a bunch of app managers available... any particular one recommended for the functions suggested above?

hey,
the stock android app mngr will do the trick (settings> applications> manage applications) or if you want something with more options try 'quick system info' from the market.
hope it works for u.

Hah!!! I've been brainwashed by the wealth of stuff available from the market (e.g. SystemPanel), and it's been so long since I've needed to use settings> applications> manage applications, that I'd forgotten you can clear cache and data using it!
As an update, there was no cache to clear for calendar, and only 2.0kB of data... clearing that didn't stop me from getting "com.htc.calendar has stopped unexpectedly" ... so I'm not expecting a reboot to help... but time to try it anyway... only my 17th reboot of the week!
Edit: Holy [email protected]!!! As mentioned, clearing data for Calendar itself made no difference, but I hadn't noticed 'Calendar Storage' just below it in the list... deleted the 48.0kB of data for this app, et voilà ... calendar worketh! ... even without that 17th reboot of the week...
Thanks again for the suggestions.
good stuff, glad it worked for you
