It is possible make videlcalls with PDA without front camera like HTC Touch 3G?
I think is only a dialer problem!.. or not?
Any help?
Nobody? Any help?
If there's a way I would love to hear it too. Have a CDMA Diamond, and can think of plenty of situations it'd be useful to make a video call where the other person can see what I'm pointing the camera at, especially if I can combine it with speakerphone.
why don't u guys try qik.com? it offers u the ability to live broadcast a video feed from your camera. and if you are on 3G, u can talk and send video at the same time.

I just installed it and tried it out, but I can't seem to figure out any way to send my video feed directly to another phone? It seems like it automatically puts it online to my qik account, but there's no way to have an interactive conversation with a viewer while it's streaming?

you are right, it just does this. i thought this is what you are looking for. if the other party is on 3G, they can view your feed on the website, just a work around.
I used to have a Hermes, Cingular 8525 variant without the front facing camera. I flashed it with a rom that supports video calling. The result - I can make/receive a video call. I can see the other person I'm talking with, but he can't see me.
Its fast its nice but how can I do following:
Install programs only on sd card for saving internal memory?
stop the sound of fotocam by shooting a foto?
enable led on recording videos?
thx
To Put the Apps on the SD Card you must Root your Nexus.
To stop the sound of the Camera you can disable the sound in your settings by pressing menu.
Enable the LED during recording may require root as well. I think thats the only way, possibly with Nexus Torch. Not sure though.

ok to set on vibrate is a way but i would like to unenable it...
two more issues, how can i use adove flash f.e. i would like to view the desktop youtube site version but it wont work... is there a way like its shown in some presetation videos?
is there any software out for sharing the connection (wlan or 3g) with a windwos computer, my nexus one would became a wlanstick?
I've heard Camera FX on the market has the ability to turn off the sound. Not sure, but someone mentioned that.
Dolphin browser will allow you to set yourself as a "desktop" which should make all website's show up as they normally would on a computer, but I don't know if youtube would work like this. It might require flash update that we will get shortly.
Eitherway, your youtube thing will be fixed soon.

You could program your own widget, or find one that suits your needs better in the market. There isn't an easy way to change them otherwise.
Just got this new update and successfully tested video-call from my tablet to PC. It works!!!
WOW. That's a great news. I'll test it once I reach home

LG Optimus Black LANDSCAPE ONLY
LG Optimus 3D LANDSCAPE ONLY
LG Optimus 2x LANDSCAPE ONLY

Ha. Just tried it and it works like a charm. Awesome!
Confirmed.... New version 2.5.0.108 released 9/29 ..... YOU MUST ENABLE VIDEO IN SETTINGS... Works on 10.1 retail... (obviously Non T-mobile).

It does work for me too, have to enable in the setting, AWESOME!!!
I loaded it on my stock Tab 10.1 wifi only. Here are my results...
- I can communicate to my desktop but I get a message stating that the connection is too slow for video.
- I can NOT even connect to my HTC Thunderbolt (Android 2.2) phone. I can chat with the phone but video connection doesn't even ring on the phone and vice versa.
- The HTC Thunderbolt communicates beautifully with my desktop. No slowdown and a nice picture.
Seems that the Honeycomb version of Skype still needs to be in the oven until it's done baking.
ooVoo Always worked like a charm...However I did install skype just in case I needed it.

Thumbs up here! Just make sure you enable it in the settings. After it prompts about "might not work" just ok through that and you get video!!

Same for me here
Something tells me it doesn't work for 3.2...
wordering if it doesn't work on HC 3.2?
Hey maybe it doesnt work on 3.2
So they seriously finally released an update, but to a outdated OS since 3.2 is starting to be pushed into the US to Tablets, and has been in most other places of the world as is? Skype is really out to screw themselves arnt they?
Mine works and is a US stock 3.2 non rooted OS. I just finished a video conference.
Alright, on 3.2 Rooted, but the rom that has all the bloatware and everything pretty much intact Skype does not do video calls or show ANY of the video options in the settings.
I reverted back to a backup of 3.1, and the app DOES do video call, and show the video call settings.
I don't know what your doing Kekinash, but you've got a magical tablet.
I am on 3.2 stock and like previously mentioned, in order to activate video you have to go to settings from first page and check it.
Then the problem could exist within the root itself for some reason. Cause i have gone into settings on the first page, and their is -no- option for it when i was on 3.2 rooted. The options stopped at the "Display Technical log" check box.
works fine on toobany 2.1b, as said, just enter settings and select the option, and re-login in..
Sounds like it might be kernel related then. I'm on the RichardTrip one that was with ezTerry's ROM.
Am on vanilla 3.2 and video calling is working great. The mic is vastly improved so must be a software issue after all.
Seems the problem are some kernels that doesn't have the proper L4V drivers or the configuration necessary for Skype Video.
As I told you I'm on stock 3.2 US Rom and I have available the video options, and it works great.

As mentioned by myself and one other, we have NO settings for video. Since it's clearly not a HC 3.2 bug, it must be root? That's the only other variable I see staring me in the face, because I'm on a stock rooted 3.2 ROM.

Try to go to Settings\Applications\Manage Applications\Skype and clear the cache.

That did nothing either
Ever since CM7 has been released on the atrix, streams that use adobe flash has been spotty. Sometimes the picture is messed up and other times it does not display at all. For example, visit justin.tv and try any stream there on your phone.
Flash Player 11 Method (720p works!):
You need to modify the config.data of the application you are using to limit the fps on the flash video to 15. (Up to 24 has been reported as working)
You can find config.data (replace the italics with your application's package name) for the default browser in /data/data/com.android.browser/app_plugins/com.adobe.flashplayer/.macromedia/Flash_Player/
Change the contents of config.data to:
DeviceCert=1
HeapSoftLimit=200
HeapHardLimit=240
HwH264=bp:108000,15;mp:108000,15;hp:108000,15;
ProductVer=11.1.111.x
Click to collapse
(To easily edit this file, use a file explorer to move config.data to the root of your sd card. Plug the phone into your computer and edit the file accordingly, then copy the file to its respective location. You can also copy it to other applications as well, as it uses the same config.data)
(Old) Flash Player 10.3 Method:
Basically what you need to do is chmod the flash plugin's config.data file for each application you use to watch the streams on.
So for the default browser (replace the italics with your application's package name):
-Browse to /data/data/com.android.browser/app_plugins/com.adobe.flashplayer/.macromedia/Flash_Player/
-chmod config.data to 000 (or remove all checkmarks in permissions of this file)
-Reboot the phone
Added a how to for fixing flash streams on flash player 11!
So the fix will play videos with only 15fps...
Do you have to do 15 - as this seems choppy to me (haven't tested yet).

It would seem so but it was fluid on mine. I guess we can experiment with the settings more if need be. Check out justin.tv on your phone, should make for a good test.
I all,
Tested with 21 instead of 15 and it work well at my site (tested on Justin.tv)
Edit : Tested with 24 too... no problem for me.

Good to hear. By the way, did you try streams before changing config.data?
Damne, wrong button (thanks) well...
Yes, I have a French website (http://www.divertissonsnous.com/) that was not working and now... it work perfectly.
For the informations, I have keep "24" in the settings.
Edit : did this kind of website is "streams" ???
I don't know, but all "video website" that was not working work well now.

Yeah it happened on some flash video as well, not necessarily just streams. Was just using it as a base Alright, thanks for the help, ill update OP
Hmm, I just tried using 15,21,and 24. All 3 of them are choppy when I view 720p. 480p and under is fine though. Also, what does the "108000" value do? If I change that, will it affect performance in any way?
I use video recordings from the HTC vivid review on gsmarena as a test.
EDIT: I went on justin.tv and the videos were smooth, so I was wondering if some of you guys could test the video recordings in the Vivid review to see if they are smooth for you.

I noticed that after I play flash videos for awhile, it crashes my opera.
When I remove permissions from config.data and reboot, the config.data still has no permissions. What are the correct permissions for it?

Opera doesnt use config.data from what ive researched. It has its own built in configuration.
The default chmod of config.data is 666 or rw-rw-rw-

I'm getting mixed messages on different threads, someone said the config.data fix works on the full version of opera and not on mini, another said it doesn't work at all. I use dolphin browser myself, which uses config.data for sure.
flash seems broken no matter what browser you use... websites hate the default browser, opera likes to freeze or spontaneously exit, and dolphin likes to completely reboot the phone.
i think the real solution here would be for adobe to fix it.

do not undervolt your phone. and if possible remove any profiles u have set up in setcpu as well
for me setcpu brings more problems then solutions default every thing is efficient. might be possible ur phone is also not responding well to setcpu settings just a thought.
Thank you!
