What can i do for my D2,Help
I installed SPL before, what the hell
Help ME pls~~
you probably already did hard reset ...
It's not dead. Flash hspl 1.83
You can find it in the rom development forum.
Go into bootloader mode (phone off, press vol down + power button till you get a screen with colours), connect ur phone to the computer and when you have a ROM image, if it's .nbh, just rename it to TOPAIMG.nbh and move it to SD-cards root folder. If it's a .exe just extract all the files from it using WinRar, rename the .nbh file to TOPAIMG.nbh and move to SD-cards root folder.
* Be sure to have at least 30% of charge.
* Turn off your device by using the Power Button.
* Go to Boot loader mode. Push and hold Vol. Down + press Power button.
* After that your device with have a white screen with text " Press to power button for continue upgrade or Press Volume down button for cancel upgrade , select press to power button and it will start upgrade Rom.
I got a screen with colour.....But I really don't know the next step, it s diffcult. I could n't find my SD-cards in my PC
PLS Help me
Use Cardreader in your PC....
thx for help.

To perform a HTC HD2 Leo hard reset
1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then press the END/POWER button shortly and release it. You will then see a message on the screen telling you this will erase xxxxxxxx......
2. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
3. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
Soft Reset
If i may add,
A soft reset,
1. Open the back with your thumb or finger
2. The RESET button is located below the bottom left slot for the battery and the SIM card. Use a small object with a blunt point like a toothpick to the RESET button.
3. Your phone will restart and the Home screen appears.
Correct me if im wrong,
Sorry im a newb, but what is the precise difference between hard and soft reset?
Will a soft reset delete stuff such as contacts, pictures and music? And will hard reset do the same?
thanks smaberg...
you should add the two other methods to the first post
there is the soft-reset button (little red button) and a software method (clear storage).

the "software" method (clear storage) is a hardreset, witch means you will restore it to factory default, deleting all info on phone...
the softreset only restarts the phone.
after flashing a new ROM i always recomend a hardreset afterwards, to be sure to get rid of all leftovers...
(Useful if flashing a rom and battery is less than 50%)
Enter bootloader mode:
Momentary press the red reset button on the back of the device, near the sd card slot, while holding the volume down button. Keep pressing on the Volume down till you see the bootloader screen. If you did not have volume down pressed as you were pressing on the reset button the device is just gonna reset and no change will take place.
Else, you will see "serial" written on the bottom middle of the screen if you're not connected to the PC via USB cable yet. "USB" will replace "Serial" when windows recognizes the device. Once on this state, you can press "next" on the rom installer where you have to acknowledge you connected the device via USB and your battery is grater than 50% and so on and so on.
You can start the installer on the PC prior to connecting the device in Bootloader mode. I don´t know what happens if you enter bootloader while connected to the PC (if you don't either, don't do it!!)
Note: I advise against using this mode with less than 10% or so. I guess you could end up with largest screened brick in the market.
To clarify previous posts:
Hard reset: Resets the device to factory defaults or to the last rom you installed.
How?
-Hardware method: combo of hardware buttons (described above)
-Software method: slide through HTC sence till "Settings" bar and select "Security" (top option). Then select "Factory resets" (last option). To my knowledge it does absolutely the same thing as the hardware method. correct me if I'm wrong.
Soft Reset: changes you made will take effect after the device resets (installed apps or reg edits...) OR you got to a sticky situation and you need to reset to get everything running smooth again (device shows abnormal operation of some kind).
How?
-Software method: Hold the power button till the quick list appears and press "power off" option on the top. You can also be presented with this option after installing some apps or after changing something within an app.
-Hardware method: remove the back cover and press the little red button near the sd card slot. Useful if the device stops responding and you are unable to soft reset by any other way.
Enter Bootloader Mode: allows for flashing devices in any battery state. It doesn't do anything by itself, just allows roms to be flashed. Some people have gotten stuck on this screen http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=599259, so use the search tool and read up before using. After flashing a rom you will loose every setting and file you had on the device itself. SD card will remain untouched (or so it should). I've read people advising to remove the card prior to flashing. Not exactly sure as to why. Files saved to the SD will remain intact. Apps installed on the SD card (aka. "Storage") will remain intact, only not registered or linked with shortcuts anymore. The device basically doesn´t know they exist.
How?
-Harware method: button combo (described above).
-Software method(ish): If you don't have to manually enter bootloader, the rom installer will take your device through this step without you having to do anything besides connecting through USB (activesynk, I guess) and running the RUU_LEO_xxx.exe file. You will see a progress bar on both PC and device as the rom is flashed.
Note: Reseting the device (turned on) while pressing a key (ex.: vol down) does the same thing as pressing the power button (with the device turned off) while pressing that same button (vol down).
Maybe you could transfer this info to the 1st post and clean up the thread a bit... Even, this could be at the Wiki section. Or better, a link on the Wiki to this thread

did u press power while pressing vol up/down?
Well, for entering bootloader mode, you can do it in "software mode" without having a PC connected to your PPC.
You can just run EnterBootloader.exe from your device.

yes, I did. But when pressing I do not feel that is actually "making contact" I tried several times...
I will try with the bootloader from above...let's see...
Thanks and regards,

If, for some reason, you cant hard reset using the power button, you can always press the reset button on the back of the device while pressing both vol up and down. After the vibration, it will enter the hard reset menu (remember to keep pressing both vol buttons till this point).
By the way: were you pressing the power button and both vol buttons with the device turned off? Cuz, with it turned on, you are just cycle through the quick list and vol menu like crazy.
Yep...pressing with phone off.
I tried with the reset button from the back of the phone and it worked.
Thanks guys...

Hi all !
I can't enter the bootloader screen (screen with blue, green and red stripes) by pressing the volDown key after a soft reset. The phone simply boot on the rom and don't let me see the desired screen.
Is someone can help me to retrieve access to the bootloader screen ?
Radio 2.10.50.8
ROM EnergyRom GTX [13th may 2010]
it shuold be as simple as holding down vol key when powering it on...like you are doing.
u really shutted it fully down and powered on again? or just softreseted via software?
I have tested the two solutions ... I also turn off the device for one day and turn it on pressing the volDown key ... the result was the device booting normally !

mmh.. and if u want to hard reset ur phone? i mean.. when u press both, volume up and down at the start.. does atleast the hardreset screen appear?
No It change nothing ... I really can't access this screen anymore. I try also to upgrade to HSPL 2.X but the issue persists
Oo thats weird.. for what do u need the screen anyway?
i would flash a new rom maybe.. so the prob could be solved that way, but i really dont know if that will help >.<
try it with the battery cover off to get a better press
power off
press and hold and keep holding vol down
press and release power KEEP PRESSING VOL DOWN
only release vol once three colored screen shows.
samsamuel, I flash my HD2 more and more but since I test the radio 2.10.50.XX, the device just boot normaly and it not let me enter the bootloader screen (I keep the volDown key during booting after turn on the device like you said)
Darksorrow, I need to get back to radio 2.08.50 because the 2.10.50 sucks my battery very quickly ... :'( I'll try to flash the device with an other ROM ... with luck It could give me back the access to bootloader ...
the rom can't affect the bootloader in the same way that your installed operating system on your pc can't affect the bios.
even if you wipe the rom completely you can still enter bootloader.
anyway best of luck.
edit - in using same radio as you.

Its possible, but unlikely.
I dont mean to sound like i dont believe your results, but i cant help the feeling that you arent doing it right.
Every post so far where someone couldnt enter bootloader / start a hard reset has been down to the order of pressing and the length of the press.
Its usually that they are
1 - pressing and holding both power and vol
or
2 - releasing vol down when they release power
or
3 - not pressing vol hard enough (this is where the battery cover off helps, it allows the button to press more firmly.)
or
4 - pressing power before they press and hold vol.
all of which will fail to enter bootloader.
ill repeat the process, just for clarity.
power off the phone
press hold and keep holding 'vol down'
tap and release power BUT keep vol down pressed
release vol down when the three coloured screen appears.
any more than that i cant suggest, sorry.
Here you go. Give this a shot. Run the cab on your device and there will be a shortcut in your start menu to take you to bootloader
It works fine. Thank you.

Thanks a lot this work for me too !
@samsamuel : I understand the way you explain me Even if I kept the vol down touch after powering the device I just see the device booting on ROM ...
I have one more question, do you think I can perform a format (with MTTY) considering the fact that I can't access to bootloader at startup ? I hope this work but the risk is that I can't never install a ROM after formatting if I still can't access to bootloader by pressing volume down at startup ....
Thanks Zelender, the file works wonderfully. ...and yes, I'm sure I was using correct procedure to enter bootloader as I had done it before.
I have a similar situation, but I have a Nexus One. I know this is not the area for the N1, but this is the only place where someone is having the same issue of not being able to go to the bootloader. I press vol down while hitting power button. This would always give me the boot loader menu, but instead it just boots to the OS.
Any way I can regain access to the bootloader, because my os is messed up and my radio isnt operating.
Thanks
Hum ... I just process an task 29 via MTTY and the result is .... "phone sent for repair" so for those who have the problem, DO NOT EXECUTE TASK 29 or you'll have a blank phone and you'll can't install new ROM.
I can't return to winmo rom.

I've the same problem as Fl3ek : I flashed a nand android rom with magldr and I can't return to bootloader mode and I can't make a hard reset. The only thing working is magldr but only for flashing nand android roms (i tried 3 of them : they all work ).
Is there an APK like bootloader.cab ? Or a program to flash or activate bootloader in nand with magldr ?
I tried quick boot with bootloader option but it does'nt work.
Hi everybody,
First, sorry for my poor english, i try to explain the best i can.
My HD2 is on one of the first Phone 7 release 01/2011 ago.
I want go back on stock rom, cause recently, i've a bug, my phone can't boot. It stay on Phone7 logo and next reboot.
Without my SD card, the phone boot, but it's in english, and My computer recognyze it on " Windows Phone7 " with yellow exclamation point.
I've tried to flash 6.5 stock rom with usb cable, but it's said it can't connect the device.
To go on flash screen, i push reboot+power off+ vol down button. Next on emagldr 1.13 screen, i select "5.usb flasher".
Next i can check on my computer's now recognyzed as " Microsoft USB Sync", but the stock rom still not abble to work:" no phone response, check usb cable"
I'm sure that my usb cable is working.
Any suggestion ?
You might try going into the normal bootloader, not into MAGLDR.
Push both vol. down and power buttons until the device starts into the multicolor bootloader screen, then connect the USB cable.
If you didn´t change your PC, it should now be able to connect via ActiveSync.

Thanx for your answer, i think the bug is here i cannot enter normal tri-color bootloader, it doesnt work :s
When i do power+ vol down until the device start, i first have a blank Htc screen maybe 1sec, and quikly next boot menu from MAGLDR 1.13
However, i'm sure that my Vol Down button work, it works on magldr menu.
try pulling out the battery, then hold down the two volume buttons, as hard as you can safely get away with, pop the battery back in whilst still holding buttons down, if it doesnt start tap the power button. keep holding down the buttons through out the whole process until it comes on.
if you can read the content of your sd card in pc then you can flash WinMo6.5 rom via sd card.... :
- go to HTC website, download appropriate rom for your HD2 with your s/n
- extract NBH file from downloaded ROM (can be done with 7-zip, Winzip...)
- rename extracted IMG file to LEOIMG.NBH
- copy that file to SD card
- boot your HD2 with SD card while holding VOL DOWN
- you should see a flash menu appear, press VOL DOWN again (if i remember.. ) and you'll flash 6.5 rom
- that's it, you'll have new instance of WinMO 6.5, with stock SPL, without MAGLDR and ANY trace of WP7.-..
oh, if you dont see anything on your SD card or you cant copy to it, it is locked and you have to format it either with some utility or in a Nokia N, E series phone... I know for a fact that N79 works
this should do the trick...

huh, must be that i'm blind missed it completely
Thx for taking time to help me,
So, if i push vol up and down, i 've a screen, next the screen loading wph 1,2,3,4 Go.
I read on it "This operation will 1.delete all your personal data, and reset all setting to manufacturer default. 2. Calculate CRC checksum. Press Voldown to restore manufacturer default, or press Vol Up to get CRC, or press other keys to cancel".
But,
Nothing happend if i press vol down, or volUp or other buttons :s
Maybe we've to try another way to get into bootloader, i think my poor batterie level is bugging the bootloader.
So, I known that we can't acces bootloader via windows.
I'm on Seven x64, my hd2 is recognyzed as a phone7 Device, with a yellow "!".
If i launch HSPL 4, with administrator right, and XP SP2 compatibility level, it can't acces via USb. " no response".
Any suggestions ? May i change the driver?
right, well that proves the buttons are working, i think its just a case of not having them held in at the right time
pop the battery out, hold down the vol down button on its own and keep it held down, put the battery back in and if it doesnt restart tap the power button.
dont let go of the vol down button
Yep, i've done this maybe 30 or 40 times, no way, no bootloader.
I4ve found a thread that explain to fullu charge the battery, remove it and wait 24H before, do the operation ( vol down, putt battery still vol down, push power stil vol down) No way, this doesn't work :s
So i've order a new battery, maybe it'll resolve the problem, i hope. See when it arrive.
Oh dear, well if you definitely cant get in to bootloader and the keys do work then that's a problem, I doubt a battery will fix it but id be interested in knowing if it does work, good luck! Is been reading quite a bit about fixing devices via the wee metal points inside devices, I wonder I the points inside the hd2 will allow this...

I'm not sure i've understand all your reply Dazza, are u suggesting to check the 3 pin connector baterry on my HD2 ?
If it's this, i've already check this, the 3 pin are good, and i've put a graphyte electrical dust on it to improve the contact.
Nope, I mean if you pop the battery cover off there are 3 metal connectors next to the sim card, it seems on some devices people have found similar points and managed to connect the device to a serial port on a pc, then had direct access to the device bypassing the bootloader. I don't think anyone done this for the hd2 yet but apparently this will fix a completely bricked device
Sent from my HD2 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Ok ! Maybe if the new battery won't resolve, i'll try something like that
Its complicated an as far as i know its not been done for the hd2, im not even sure that's the correct points but its a possibility. There are another 2 points on the opersite side to the volume buttons under the battery cover.

This is a painful message to write, but I am desparate. This should be so simple!
Have a U8800 standard (at least it says only "U8800" in settings/about phone.
What have I done:
- Upgraded some time ago to 2.3.5 Rev B522 from Huawei.
- Then rooted it with SuperOneClick.
- Installed ClockWorkMod from Play Store.
- Downloaded CWM Recovery 5.5.0.4 stable from xda and placed the file into the /.cust-backup/image folder via Remount.
- Turned off Fast boot under settings/applications
:: What worked/happened.
- Rooting went fine, ES file explorer and others get root-permissions ok.
- But got into CWMRecovery only via CWM program (Choosing "Reboot into recovery"). Never with the holding buttons vol+ and power-button during power-on.
Figured it was that locked bootloader on B522 that was the problem.
What I did:
- Followed the instructions in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457490 (Get your pink screen back).
- In CWM Recovery flashed "update-B518-bootloader.zip".
- Got "ok installed or something to that effect" from CWM Recovery.
:: What worked/happened.
- Still could not get into CWMRecovery via button-holding. Tried reflashing the B518 bootloader a few times, but just no difference.
Read somewhere that each Huawei firmware-release comes with it's own bootloader, so lets try to install Huawei B518.
- Only place I could find the image was here http://huaweiideosx5.blogspot.no/2012/03/u8800-b518-23-software.html
- U8800V100R001C00B518G001.zip
- Had to take out the external SD-card to get the /sdcard/dload directory on the internal SD-card.
-Seems to be important to have dload on the internal SD-card and not the external.
- Booting the phone with vol+, vol-, power did not start the downgrade, but was able to trigger it via settings/storage/software upgrade.
After downgrade to B518 (Checked version in settings/about phone):
- Deleted /sdcard/dload directory.
- Rooted with SuperOneClick
- Installed ClockWorkMod from play store again.
- Put CWM Recovery 5.5.0.4 into ./cust_backup/image again (think this was unecessary. I think it was already there but did it anyways)
- Turned off Fast boot under settings/applications.
:: What worked/happened.
- The phone is now in B518 software, but still can not get into CWM Recovery via keypressing at boot.
I hold the vol+ and power-buttons all the way to "desktop" so to say, but can not for the life of me get into CWM Recovery that way. Getting into CWM recovery 5.5.0.4 via instructing CWM application to boot into recovery works fine, though.
I am drooling at the thought of ICS Aurora, but I don't dare before I can reliably get into CWM Recovery via keypress.
Sorry if this is very stupid post, but I have tried so much.
Maybe the volume buttons are faulty? Turn off the phone and try this: hold down volume up; while holding press power button as long as the logo comes up. Release power button but continue holding volume up. If it did not work, try doing same with volume down.
Yeah, do what Blefish advised you but do it while the phone is off and charging. I have a kinda broken power key and with this 'trick' it boots faster and more reliable. Keep holding the 3 buttons until you see the recovery.
Sent from my U8800
Thank you both for trying to help me here!
Unfortunately I have had no luck with your suggestions.
Re: Broken keys.
Power and volume-buttons seems to work well when the phone is on. Also when I boot into recovery through the CWM program, navigate to advanced/key-test, the vol+, vol- and power button seems to work well there too.
On pressing the power-button, CWM-R reports Key: 116
On pressing the vol+-button, CWM-R reports Key: 115
On pressing the vol--button, CWM-R reports Key: 114
So I think the keys must be ok, right?
Blefish: I did what you suggested, as I understood it.
When the phone boots, there are three stages of logos.
1. A static logo of Huawei's red "fan?".
2. A short "comet" animation.
3. An animated logo of Huawei's "fan", where some highlight flashes from left to right over the fan.
I hold the power-button in until I see the first static logo, then let go of the power-button and hold the volume-key(s).
Is this the same stage in the boot-process that you were thinking of?
I have tried vol+, vol- and both vol+ and vol-, together with releasing the power-button at that point.
Have not had any success with that, and ended on the "desktop" each time.
AceDroidX: I tried your suggestion as well.
I did this:
1. Shut down the telephone
2. Plugged in the power.
3. A "fan"-logo appears which is replaced by an animated battery.
4. Upon seeing the animated battery, I tried the various key-hold variants.
- vol+ and power : Ended up at desktop.
- vol- and power : Ended up at desktop.
- vol+ and vol- and power : Ended up at desktop.
So not much success either.
I am out of ideas... Can it be that B522 bootloader that still lingers in there, not replaced by installing the B518 software?
Well, idk what else to suggest.. Maybe your problem is here?

I remember that when i mount my phone in linux, there was a partition with just the image folder. Some files like boot.img and recovery.img where there. Try to put the recovery image in there and see if it makes any difference.
I'd like see your versioninfo, can you upload a screenshot?
You can check mine from B528
AceDroidX: When I use Remount, I am able to mount that partition as read/write so that I can copy CWM's Recovery image in there. I think it is identical as mounting it up remotely, as you do. I am after all able to boot into CWM-Recovery, just not by key-pressing? I suppose I could boot into Linux and try to mount up the partitions as you do.

hi all,
i'm using some ics roms and it seems ics supports natively vol++power button to take screenshots but it doesnt work for me... do you know if there are some custom ics rom where it will work?
thank you
Wow.. It is hard to believe.. but I have actually ... eventually found a way to get into that CWM-Recovery every time.
It is a combination of your suggestions.
I have been doing variations, trying to figure something out and eventually there is a method.
What I must do, on this phone, in order to get into CWM-R is this:
1. If the charging cable is in, then unplug first.
2. Turn the phone off.
3. Take out the battery and put it back in.
- This makes a difference on my phone, at least. I am not able to get into CWM-R wihtout taking the battery out first.
4. Press and hold Vol+
5. With Vol+ being pressed continously, insert the charging-cable.
6. Wait for the Fan-animation to finish and the "battery-charging" animation to start.
7. When the battery-charging animation is running and the screen eventually goes black, keep holding the Vol+ button for some time.
- Sometimes it works to keep holding the Vol+ button for only a second or two. Sometimes I must hold it up to 30 seconds.
7. Press and hold the power-button in addition to the Vol+
8. Wait for CWM-Recovery to start.
Thank you very much for your help.
Now I think I can try for ICS!
