Greetings All,
If you look at the Cracked Screen thread, I just completed doing a DIY digitizer replacement on my phone. The process was pretty straightforward using the teardown from iFixIt, but I made a pretty stupid mistake while putting it all back together.
The PCB for the trackball and the plastic carrier for the screen/digitizer, which also holds the LED lights that illuminate the capacitive screen buttons, has a little 2-lead printed ribbon trace to the LEDs... and I tore that ribbon while putting the phone back together (sad that someone with training in repairing Naval electronics systems did that).
I am wondering where to find replacement parts for the Nexus One. I looked online with no results. I ended up hitting up the "Contact Us" form on HTC's website, but don't know if that will get anywhere. Anywhere I can go for OEM replacement parts? Or does HTC have a number or email I can direct my request to?
Thanks much!
Maybe try calling technical support to see what they can do for you? I doubt parts are available online just yet...maybe in a few months...
For technical support, please contact Nexus One support from Google at 1-888-48-NEXUS (63987). Open daily from 7:00 am EST to 10:00 pm EST.
Good luck!
@Turets
www.cnn.cn has some parts, only the digitiser and track ball at this time..

After searching the internets and this forum with no success, I have finally found out how to order replacement parts and where to send my wizard in for service!
Replacement parts from HTC direct: 888-482-8725
Service from HTC: 888-356-2375 (They answer as Tmobile customer care, but are actually a division of HTC).
I got in a very violent car wreck last week and my wizard was found 30 feet away, scratched up (with a screen protector), with no battery or back cover. I ordered a replacement battery and cover with shipping for $40 that arrived the next day (I'm in Dallas and they're in Houston)! My wizard still works fine and I can send it in to HTC for them to put a new case for $80. They wouldn't promise me, but the rep said he'd try to get me a 8125 case instead of the MDA case (keeping fingers crossed)!
I would love a new case for my xda mini s, any brand would do. Come to think of it i would like a new front cover for the screen too (maybe just the digitizer) as it has a few feint marks.
If anyone has a contact in the uk that can get any parts please let me know. I'm happy to do the job myself.
Do you know if it's possible to purchase the casing without them instaling it? I have the service manual, and I'm pretty confident in doing the case switch myself. I currently have an MDA, but i find the keyboard on the 8125 to be nicer. Just my opinion.

I asked them that and they said no. I would have done it myself as well.
If this works, you just made my day. I'm gonna call them up a little later.

Just want to update on that contact numbers
Replacement parts from HTC direct: 713-2196125

Service from HTC: 888-354-2375 (Cingular)
As of today the first number no longer works.
Does anyone have the current phone # for HTC parts? I am looking for a G1 touch panel - just the glass. Thanks!
I'm in the same boat as InksterOne. I need to replace the glass panel on my G1. Not the whole LCD assembly, just the glass. I need a place to order HTC replacement parts.
http://www.mobile-phone-lcd.com/
That place was awesome for LCD and touch-panel purchases, I got my G1 touchpanel (the glass piece) from HK in 3 days, and it was a genuine replacement part as well. I'm still looking for a place that sells the other parts... >_<
gsensor is not working
my gsensor is not working on my touch diamond. could you pls help
Can you share with me the email ?
Hi.
I need an HTC parts supplier, and your finding would make my day.
As I live overseas, and sometimes is hard to find a solution by phone when you can´t spend hours in the phone, I wonder if you have a name and an email which I can use to ask for Rhodium parts over there?
Thanks in advance.

anyone have an update on htc parts supplier? i need a hero speaker replacement!
I've used RepairsUniverse.com last few times I've cracked one of my screens. Last time was last month on my brand new HTC Droid Incredible. They had both the LCD and the glass screen replacements (i just needed the glass) and they had all the other models also. They always ship fast, and both times i've been very happy.

It looks like my white screen issues have gotten worse. After going through 2 of these Im not wanting to buy another one and am looking to send the phone in for repair.
Im wondering if anyone has sent their phone in for repair to an online site.
How was it and what site would you all recommend?
What exactly is wrong with your phone. You can PM me and I can possibly walk you through a home repair. Im a service repair tech and maybe I can be of assistance.

Said your not accepting PMs.
So I had the white screen issue. I took it apart, put some padding in. Worked for a couple of weeks and Im pretty sure its the connector from the LCD to the DPad.
Now the screen shows and image, but its more like a ghost of the images.
Sorry about the PM deal. If you pick up some denatured alcohol and a cheap tooth brush you can gently scrub the connection. If all else fails you can contact HTC and get a new ribbon cable. I had to do it before. I haven't had any problems since.
i dropped my brothers htc athena x7500, now, after picking up all the pieces and spending many hours reassembling, it works fine, but is a mess, and buttons are missing. where can i get just a replacement casing? complete with buttons. already tried all the usual suspects...(ebay)
any one help please?
Search around here, someone posted about a replacement case recently. However, it was expensive and didnt have buttons.
I have searched for quite some time now but I can't find the links to the shop that sells the case (I do get dozens of links to leather cases, but it's not what I'm looking for). Anyone has the right lienk?
Thanks,
Silviu
EDIT: I think I found it, but it's not sold anymore.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=346413
EDIT 2: found it on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...em=180202680216&_trksid=p3984.cTODAY.m238.lVI

wow!!!!
Dude you paid 97 dollars for a piece of metal. man, my screen would need to be in different parts of the world before i could justify that!!!! were you not covered under warrantee? or maybe your very successful and loaded? in which case can i have some money?
My X7500 is so scratched and dented that it really looks like a piece of garbage... So yeah, I think it's worth replacing the housing. Unfortunately even the ebay auction failed: no unit left... I'm back to my quest for a new (black) housing!
Brando sells them now. I've just ordered one. Anyone know of a good dissasembly guide?

Could you please post the link to the replacement housing sold by Brando? I can't find it in their e-shop.
Hi,
Look here http://mobile.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.php?prod_id=03131 It's the one that I ordered.
Regarding the replacement case, I found on ebay a dummmy X7500, used for display in stores etc. In fact it's just a housing with a fake screen and a piece of lead inside to make it heavier. I got it for 40 € instead the 75 €for the replacement case only....
Cool. I got notice from my post office that a package has arrived from hong kong, gonna go and see if it's that after my lecture.

Did it work ok for you to switch the housing?
I'll get the TORX screwdrivers only tomorrow, I'll try and let you know. But it does look promising, as the housing is the same, and I have detailed info about the disassembly in the service manual.

Yes please keep us informed as I have managed to get my hands on a similar case (ie shop demo unit).
Also let us know the sizes you use for the Torx drivers (I only have a T6) and any things you need to look out for.
oh yes. tmobile ARE helpfull
ok. i noticed how much money were all willing to spend on housing and i then had a sudden realisation. im tight. i dont wanna pay for something that is going to be destroyed again when the kids use my phone as a frisbee or coffee matt.
I called up tmobile. explained that the casing was scratch (of course i mentioned it was a design fault with the casing and magnets, not that i had repeatedly dropped it)........
and good old tmobile said "no problem, send you phone to us and we will repair/replace it. after removing the wm6 updates and a system reset i sent it off. 4 days later, a completley new phone. excellent service.
Hi guys,
I thought it would bw hard.
It was.
I managed to disassemble completely the dummy unit, and it wasn't easy. The instruction in the manual are correct, but not quite complete (there are a few times when you must guess some key points), and it doesn't always apply to dummy units
I managed to get a clean and mostly unscratched casing (it looks like new actually), but the buttons (internet explorer, OK, Windows) are torn.
Now I'm reluctant to open my X7500, I'm afraid I'll ruin the buttons and as I don't have any replacement, I would be left with holes instead of buttons. I saw that even the casing sold by Brando has no buttons provided.
So do it at your own risk... But for now I won't open mine, except if the case really gets badly beaten.

I got the windows, ok button and internet button in my brando housing. Plus the right side buttons.
Then you may try and keep us posted maybe.
The one good thing is, I found out that removing the magnets (as I never use the keyboard) is very easy: just unscrew the three screws holding the bottom plate and remove it carefully (there are a few hooks that must be pried apart). The three magnets are visible and easily removable from the bottom plate (they are glued).
So I'm one of the North American users who got the devices attached to the gay leather pouches that are attached with screws.. Ive removed the 3 screws and the leather case because it's anoying...
I currently have 3 Sharp metal screws protruding (the 3 screws removed drilled into these)
I found out the Part numbers for the proper screws and the rubber feet to cover them.
76H01969-00M X 1
76H01968-00M X 1
76H02025-00M X 1
72H01821-00M X 3
Now I've contacted HTC numerous times over e-mail. Asking where to order... half the time they wont respond, the other times they say you cannot purchase parts, and I have to send my device in to be repaired...
I don't want it repaired, I just want these 3 screws, and the proper rubber feet...
Does anyone know where I can buy these HTC parts listed above? I'd be indebt!
I remember a postiing here about someone who had perfected his "gay" shift without having to send it a correctional facillity
Just did a minute search but couldn't find the posting, it should be around though.
Anyone with better search qualities ? It's about someone who crafted a solution himself.
lol,
I refuse to use that leather case, and the screw mounts are just scraping the crap out of my desk because they come out further than the case... haha
Only reason why I leave them on is because I drag this thing around and don't want it falling apart on me when I'm out.
Ordering parts not possible!
I recently had the vent on my device broken, I honestly do not have a clue how it got broken but it got to a point that I just want to fix it. I called HTC hoping it will be done under warranty, I was wrong! Firstly I was charged £250 to fix a simple wire gauze on the vent at the back of the device, I refused and told them to pack my device and send it back...except that it will cost me about £50 for the luxury of their diagnosis of a cosmetic issue.
I was appaled and requested for my device anyway, I had to log on to their repair website to pay to have it back, this time, I saw that the price has gone down to £135 to replace the tiny gauze or half that just to get the item back...I paid.
I was asked for me feedback, I advised them they're better off without asking me!
I'm shocked that HTC handles things in this kind of fashion...
I used to have an HP iPaq HW6955... I used that phone forever, no issues for years...
Finally towards the end, small things kept breaking... HP had a website where you could order parts... And to my surprise they were cheap as hell too...
Did probably 5-7 repair jobs myself until one day some random idiot shoulder checked me into a cement wall and the phone was at the end of its days (on my hip between me and the wall) RIP! hahha
Still, I can't beleive HTC doesn't provide these types of services.
The solution on this forum is what you need

The solution I remember the guy talking about was that he sanded off or polished something... no pun intended here.
Anyway, he found a way to order some screws that would fit his holes, from his device that is, and he was a happy gaymer afterwards.
I tried "digging deeper", but couln't find that posting. Damn, I know it will be a solution for you. Try yourself too.
i dropped my dvp yesterday. the screen is broken and cannot display anything. it just display some random colors. if you guys know any place to fix it, please tell me. i live in Sydney.
I think the only solution so far is to call dell and make them fix it to you
no one is selling any spare parts for DVP yet, just accessories
or try to buy a bricked phone fron e-bay and take its screen
good luck
I agree with the above - the first place to try is Dell, to see whether they can fix it (or suggest someone who can).
If you want to try fixing it yourself, I think it is possible to buy spare parts. Saw a blog post about this where someone replaced his screen. His screen was broken but his gorilla glass 'lens' was undamaged. The article mentions where he got his replacement screen, although it's a UK website.
http://blogs.technet.com/b/roblarso...-a-broken-lcd-screen-on-a-dell-venue-pro.aspx
The service manual probably gives a good description of disassembling a DVP too. (It also lists the part number of the screen, if you want to try finding another source).
If both the glass 'lens' and screen need replacing, it might not be much cheaper than buying a used DVP.
