No it won't - it doesn't have the necessary bands.

Did I just buy a HD2 GSM only phone? Never connect to 3G on the new Roger 3G+ network (unlike my X1i). How do I check what version of the HD2 I got?

There is only one version right now, the GSM UMTS 900/2100 version.
Ah bummer.. that explains it then. No HSDPA 1900!
Back to Edge then, no 3G for us Canucks

Moreover, even when it comes to T-moble in that states 3G will be limited.

Didn't one of the Canadian networks just start using the 1700 (AWS) band? It may be better for Canadians to wait for the NAM version.
is possible? will it have the full extend to the network coverage?
No, 3g internet will not work.
not even with custom roms or something?
this is the version Telstra Next G model(850/2100Mhz)
tmobile has this weird 1700 AWS band, its a hardware thing

I'll trade you my T-Mobile US HD2 for your Telstra HD2.
Is there a way to get the MT4G to work with Rogers 3G (HSPA/HSPA+) in Canada? I bought a paygo sim and am only seeing edge. I think that maybe the MT4G doesn't support the correct bands but I'm not sure. If anyone could enlighten me I'd be very appreciative.
thanks

It wont work because it doesnt support 3G on the 850/1900 bands. It should work on Wind Mobile rho because they both operate on the AWS bands.
Sent From Cyanogen Glacier 4G

Aw shucks.... it really sucks that 3G isn't more standardized..... hopefully the world will move toward a more homogenized system so that roaming between countries isn't such a hassle. Thanks for the info Master.
Please post questions in Q&A section.
Hey, When you say that it won't work with 3G but it will with edge do you mean just the data? Will it still work for making phone calls?
Hi,
I'm taking my fully unlocked, rooted USA T-Mobile G2 running CM7 to Bangalore next week. I'm wondering what sort of prepaid SIM I can get that will give me voice+data? Is there a compatible carrier in Karnataka for 3G or 4G data?
Thanks for any advice.
AirTel,Vodafone and Idea they all support 3G in Bangalore, so don't worry

US Cellular is a CDMA network, so none of their phones can be used on GSM networks, sorry.
