Hello,
I have bought the phone on ebay.com. And my network provider is Vodafone India.
I try to connect to Google Maps by activating GPS in my mobile, but nothing comes up.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Smthakur
If you're in India, This could be just a simple fix in google maps.

Try that. It allows international maps for google maps. That's all I can think of to help.
All I can figure, is that the previous owner lived in the united states, so google maps was configured to america, but the link above will help you get it internationally. I hope this helps.

HELLO
Recently i have purchased HTC TOUCH CRUISE from USA, but I am working with UNITED NATIONS in Pristina KOSOVO in europe. i have installed Google Navigator on it to find Location GPS sometime working very well some times not !! BUT most of the time it shows Monoco in france Location!!! a mean longtitude and latitude ... ..ADDITIONALLY in kosovo we are using VALA sim card that belong to MONOCO in france telecominicaton based in MONOCO because there isnt any telecomminication service here ..on the street people selling VALA sim card and working very well.....
Any way i have used 2-3 different software to make sure GPS is working precisely but most of the time GPS shows MONOCO Longtitude and Latitude and interesting speed Atitude sometimes in the see close Monoco region ...between MONOCO and KOSOVO takes more than 500km ..so it shows different location . Also i have updated quickgps using local internet same...
so what should be a reason !!! how can i solve this problem...
If you answerr to this post i will be really appriciate!
Thank you in advance !!!
Hi
I'm from Europe, but I'm going to Australia next week, and I need a program and maps for my Touch HD. I don't know any software and any place I can get Australian maps. I'm also wondering if my phone will work with Australian satelites.
I used my HTC Tytn II with sat nav in Australia and Singapore, last year no problems, I had Tomtom maps for both. You can run Tomtom on HD but not sure on Australian maps.
It's called the GLOBAL Positioning Satellite system for a very good reason. It's a single network of satellites Globally.
CoPilot Live 7 has maps of Australia that you could buy. CoPilot works well on HD.

I use GarminXT and it came with maps for Thailand where I live and also a world map that I use when I go back to Aus its a great program
I have bought a HTC new White Diamond.
i want to use the GPS and GPRS but without spending lots of money.../
i m in mumbai i have Vodafone!!,,
can sm 1 recommend me ne free software!~!!!
Hi,
The best free software for GPS is Google Maps for Windows Mobile. But to use it you will have to use the internet connection on your phone which costs...
No, it's not true
the best one is IGO8.3.x.x version...
You don't have to pay nothing for using this software, cause you use satelite for navigation, not internet
if you need this soft, pm me
greetz
IGo
IGo is not free and we don't recommend warez here lol
By the way, if I read correctly, you are in Mumbai so the first step you should take is to check the coverage of your country by the "usual" software and their clones like Igo (miomap), Tom Tom and Garmin and others ....
No need to spent time to install a software on your pda if there is no or poor coverage of your country.
Search for mapmyindia (shareware) on this forum and on ppcwarez. You will get the answer.
For GPRS, call Vodafone Customer Care.
First of all I live in the US and my magic is from the UK. There is no option on the phone to change my location to the US, only other European countries. As a result shop savy shows results in pounds instead of USD, same with some of the apps in the market, anyone know a fix?
It is immposible to update my locations weather forecast.
I've e-mailed HTC and they told me to hard reset. I don't belief that kind of crap information. Can somebody help me?
Google maps is working great and internet to!
Once before I had a simulair problem. I live in Holland and my device thought that I was in India, even with Google maps :S After a war between Vodafone and HTC the problem was solved. Vodafone was wrong by sending the wrong signals/information on the GSM poles
I have the same problem, i found that if i turn on my wifi it will update
Out of nothing it seems to work! About more that two weeks I was unable to update it.
