As the title says. i have the HTC tytn. First my messages were grouped by contact. now when i receive a text message, they are just showed 1 by 1.
whereas in the past the text messages of the same contact were grouped
hope you understand. now I ressetted my device and I don't know how i can set it back.
On the upper right corner of the messages screen, tap the pull down menu and select the option you like. eg. Message Type, Recieved, Subject.

I am trying to send text messages using my XDA IIs and things are not working. When I select "to" in the outlook window, "my contacts" list shows up, I then select a contact, but the list remains on the screen preventing any text entry. Any ideas?
Press the little "contacts" icon to the right of My Text at the bottom of the screen, this puts the contacts list away (or pops it up).

Pretty much as the title says, my Touch HD has a '2' in the green circle as though I have two unread messages. This is not the case, I have deleted ALL messages from my phone, there is nothing.
It started with a '1' when a message failed to send when I was roaming... I dealt with it, but now it thinks there's a second unread message. It's pretty annoying because I only know if I have a new text now if it says '3' in the green circle.
Help please.

What ROM version are you using?
Please try and change the following Registry key value:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\State\Messages\sms\Unread \Count and made sure its set to 0
If that does not work, try this:
1. go to 'Messaging' tab (sms texts) in Touchflo.
2. tap softkey (left) labeled 'All messages'
3. This should bring up 'Messaging' program.
4. tap softkey (right) labeled 'Menu'
5. tap option 'Go To >'
6. tap option 'Outlook E-mail'
7. Delete unread email here.
8. Close Messages and check that your email counter has adjusted.
Hopefully this works for most problems.

Scratch that... when I receive a text, it jumps straight to '3' instead of '1'
I found manila take about 3 sec to mark an sms as read. you probably still have a couple ore short sms that you did not stay on for long enough.
go through them all stopping on each for 3 sec an see if it finally reads one.
This isn't the case, I have zero unread messages. I have even deleted ALL messages from my phone, all SMS and Email. It still shows as 2 unread messages, on manilla and in the windows messaging program. I did that reg edit, which removed the '2' but as soon as I get a new message, '3' pops up, it's almost as though it thinks '2' is zero.
Really need to fix this guys!

So I had received text message that I wanted to forward. I pressed and held the text, selected "Forward" from the menu, and I get the "to" box and the body, but where are my contacts? I can't select a contact to fwd the message to, can you?
Tapping the "to" box just brings up swype, and taping the little contact icon does nothing.
Help!
update--- okay, so apparently the samsung messaging app on this phone sucks, but fwd'ing happened to be my first run in with it. When I click on messaging from the home screen, then "compose new" @ the top, I can't select from a list of contacts. Instead, I have to start typing out the name of who I want to send it to in the "to" field and find them in the drop down autofill list. Also, the name that appears at the top next to the "contact" icon only shows the first name entered.
So, it would appear this is more along the lines of an annoyance with their program than a bug. Can anyone confirm these issues? Is it maybe just that my contacts aren't synced correctly or something?
I'm looking for a way to make it when I click on a received sms in the sms tab it will bring up that contacts sms thread from within the inbox (Like when clicking "All Messages" in the bottom left corner) as opposed to bringing up that program that shows their contact card, messages, mail, events, call history. That just bogs my phone down and I personally don't like the layout of it.
since two days i noticed that when i receive a new text message, the screen lights on, but no notification icon is shown, and if tap the messages menu, i don't see any new text message and i only see the old ones.
i also tried to delete some of the old messages but didn't help...
i am confused of what you mean by "notification icon"...
do you mean the screen which appear after you press the power key? maybe you've made wrong settings
