10.1 for WM does not exist, and quite possibly never will.
You're wrong Adobe Flash 10.1 will be released for WIndows Phone 7 Series at the end of the year.
Yep, for WP7S, but NOT for WM, as he said.

Sorry, but no, I am not wrong. Flash 10.1 does not exist and never will for WM, and that is still true.
WM is Windows Mobile a.k.a 6.5
Windows Phone is a different thing, and it does not exist on the HD2 either.
It's Microsoft's fault for such a stupid naming convention, and Adobe and Microsoft's fault for being too lazy to make it happen for WM.

Well you would technically be wrong for saying it does not exist. There obviously are builds out there as Adobe has videos up showing Flash 10.1 running on Windows Mobile 6.5
Now will we ever see these builds? Most likely not, but I think adobe should atleast release what they have so far, I mean their work would be wasted otherwise lol.

Oh come on, stop playing with words. It exists, at least in a beta stage, OK, but since then adobe announced they stopped working on it and would not release it. So, to us, it doesn't exist, and simply won't.
Why did they stop working on it? Thats retarded. . . .

Well, officially, it's because they discovered WM6.5 lacks some crucial api's necessary to make it work; but that's obviously a lie. The real reason is because of the announcement that WP7S won't be backwards-compatible with Windows Mobile - that is, nothing designed for WM will run on WP. Adobe, like many others, have therefore abandoned the WM platform and started to develop for WP7S instead.

No they didn't. The HD2 will not get an official upgrade to WP7S; that is now confirmed beyond doubt.
Well, I'm still getting this phone because WM is great.
Plus the potential of android.
Guys! Stop this WP7S upgrade-or-not flameware please! The new Windows is going to be an iPhone-wannabe(it will lack copy paste as well, perfect!). Is current WM6 so bad?
Now, let me answer the thread author: download the latest Opera Mobile(not Mini). Open it's settings, go to advanced and activate plugins. It will play videos, even flash games will run. It flash runs quite good.

EXACLTY MY OPINION. iPhone :
-no copy and paste
-no microSD card
-no multitasking
Any difference between this and WP7 ? NO. Some patent violations are coming Micro$oft's way, LOL. Anyway, the HD2 is really slow. For Flash, you need a BEAST of a CPU, no chance.

Okay. We all know that Flash 10.1 DOES exist for the HD2. We've all seen it from adobe from the videos. Admit it. It's just that it has never been released. Will it ever get released? Well, that's just a question if someone fro the inside is willing to leak it to us. If so, WM will live on! Forget WP7S.

i have a better question... why would you want to?
Seriously, just buy an HD2 if you have such a WinMo boner
Are you kidding us? WM doesn't exist...
If you try Android you will never go back to WM..
yeah... gonna dump my fuze.. maybe sell it for $100 and get outta ATT..
buy the phone outright, and jump on the $59 plan they got (or maybe make up a different one - i'm not much of a texter), then add on the work discount.. cheaper than paying $180 for it and being stuck w/ the $80/mo plan.
I'm done with winmo after playing with my parents android phones
HD2 cost $670 +shipping, but if I flash the Nexus one, it only costs $562. it's a better choice than buy a HD2.

Well there is a device called Sunno, supposed to have both WM&android - dual boot, similar to your desktop's dual boot. The answer is yes it's coming. Adobe have just released a video of the full Flash 10.1 on the HD2 and Nexus One. Should be hitting our phones over the next few months.

does flash lite 3.1 in the opera mobile beta support text input in flash apps on the hd2?

Alas, there is a news story doing the rounds today which makes it clear that Adobe has cancelled the project to offer Flash player on Windows Mobile.
Link: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/550281?tstart=30
As for WinMo, we have made the tough decision to defer support for that platform until WinMo7. This is due to the fact that WinMo6.5 does not support some of the critical APIs that we need.

I suspect that excuse is bullsh*t; more likely Adobe has realised that Windows Mobile as a platform is dead (now that Microsoft has confirmed that WP7 is not backwards compatible) and has decided to jump straight to writing for WP7 instead. I suspect any other number of other commercial software developers will follow suit....
This is such a shame, I was very much looking forward to real flash support. Skyfire just doesn't cut it.
Damn!
NO. Adobe has abandoned WIndows Mobile 6.5 and cancelled the developement for flash 10.1 on our devices. No Flash for our device period. WinMO 6.5 is dead.
Yes, it is a shame indeed. I wouldn't say WinMo 6.5x is dead tho, far from it.
I wouldn't be suprised if XDA guys are able to extract flash from winmo7, that would be awesome!
This is a bit of an odd question, but please bare with me here.
I'm writing my thesis for the uni about C#... with the recent release of VS2010, I thought it'd be great to focus on this IDE and the new features it offers and put those in the thesis as well. I ALSO had an idea to show that one can write apps for mobile devices using C# (duh, but all's fair in the academic world ); I own a HD2, so being able to whip out the phone and show the app working would be a great way to blow some academic minds (well, not really, but I think it'd be nice).
However... VS2010 doesn't support WMo 6.X, which is a serious bummer. There are some rumours that an SDK will be released, but if and when that will happen remains a mystery.
So this leaves me WMo7, which has already been ported to HD2. However, it seems it's not public just yet. And besides not being public, WMo7 will supposedly only allow apps to be installed through MS store... so I have no idea if it'll be possible for me to write an app for that OS and actually use it (it won't be commercial in any way and 100% useless for 99% of people, as it only serves as a live example for my thesis).
To summarize:
- Is is possible for a "basement-programmer" like myself to use WMo7 to show off my own apps without the use of the MS store?
- If so, where could I get my hands on WMo7 for HD2?
- If WMo7 is not available to us mortals, could someone tell me roughly when a public release will be available?
- Or perhaps the whole idea is pointless and I should just develop my app in VS2080 and show it off with the HD2 that I currently own? (It's will be a simple app that connects to some database online without being limited to MSSQL and does something with it, where "something" is yet unspecified)

I am not sure where you heard that winmo had been ported too hd2? is a link available.
I have just checked Da_G's twitter account and he is still working on the port, he has developed several new tools too help him but is struggling to get some stuff to do with the JTAG controller.
there is a hd2 application which attempts to reimplement some of the functions you can see in the wp7 promo videos but this is not a port it is just an application that looks like wp7.

write your app under 2008 and for 6.5, there hasn't been any word from the source of that rumour for months. C# code is very portable between 2008 and 2010, so don't worry about that. With a little work (can be on the order of hours) you can upgrade your code to 2010 and 7.0 if it ever arrives for HD2.
uuum.. u can show windows phone 7 with a emulator on a pc.. and i think ms released the windows phone 7 tools to programm apps for it alerady..

Yes we could look over the history and see that it has taken years to port android to winmo devices and yes they still aren't 100% stable but then again none of those older winmo devices were the hd2 nor did they have all the internals this bad boy has. There is a reason why they are advancing so fast.

Basically, nobody've tested it yet - too soon i guess.
Google translation from the above site:
HTC HD2 takes all three large-scale system to run successfully WP7
Windows Mobilephone the king of the group, has once again implemented a perfect trial run of WP7,HTC HD2 (parameters), the system has successfully transplanted Android 2.2 onto HD2, and now once again is trying to run WP7 for real, HD2 an emperor once again, becomes a focus of attention.
HTC HD2 performance of mobile phone configuration is in full compliance with the requirements of WP7, the screen has a 4.3 inch capacitive touch screen, built-in 1GHz processor and 500 million pixel camera. From the already listed HTC HD7 (parameters)of view, HD2 processor and the same type HD7, HD2's only drawback is its key design which does not meet the physical requirements of WP7, but it will not stop it from running WP7. Time is drawing near, let us work together to cheer!
