I wonder if it is possible to upgrade the internal RAM. Its a pain in ******* to see how windows mobile 6.5 slowing down the device due to the lack of memory.
Have someone done that before ? Or will I be the first one ( who ll try to ) ?

I upgraded the RAM in my Typhoon to 64 MB using a HYB25L512160AC-7.5 chip, but the device always sees only 32 MB. I'm not so familiar with the software stuff. Can anyone modify the bootloader to enable 64 MB RAM? That would be really sweat!

I thing my devices software can only see 32mb... it's maybe a driver problem...

There is a big problem because memory has a FBGA package so you have to use a hot air solder I haven't changed RAM in my mobile, but I'm looking for a shop where I can odrer this (HYB25L512160AC-7.5 ) part in good price.

Maybe Hardware or ROM donot support RAM update.
I think you need to modify the IPL oR SPL ,

I do think aout SPVE100 someone used to upgrade it to 32m ram but not any more 'cuz the CPU don't support

What the hell........?
This is a 512MB memory chip as "...L512..." reveals that.
With this your Typhoon will be WM9 ready.
Don't forget to upgrade your CPU.
Any way u can show how u did it?

512 Mbits that is 64 Mbytes.
to be precise the chip is 32Mx16bits.

hi fellows: this is great news that I haved upgraded a rom of 128mb.is this fantastic news? the public is interested in Beasty & Laurentius 2.08.01 for a few of reasons but recenty users have became a member of 128MB rom.
with coming regret as well as pleasures, looking for 128 rom is a painful thing really
l spend many time in last night finding out a easy way that you devices upgrade 128MB rom conveniently
this method followed
1. you must firstly flash a original rom of 128mB ,which is most important to total course. do not forget this step.
2 you may now download Beasty & Laurentius 2.08.01 rom.
you do not distill any part ,such as the nk_nbf document ,into other tools of flashing rom. keeping the rom integrated ,please use tools offered by Laurentius to upgrade you d900 .
3.when you rom are upgraded, anytime you do not stick a position of reset.you ought to use software of reset to operate you loved device or else you device are not able to display 112MB in memory and to identify two chips of 128MB. meaning you work failed

Anyone can confirm this is real?
What devices does this work on? Beast and Leo works on Universals, but I really doubt that there is anyway you can make a Universal have 128Mb of RAM just by flashing.

Luochao, I'm not 100% sure what your saying here. Beast and Leo haven't updated their ROM yet to make full use of the 128MB RAM. (This is achieved by unsoldering the two 32MB chips and replacing with two 64MB chip(128MB total) I'm curious have you already done this upgrade procedure? If you have, have you managed to patch Beast and Leos ROM to make full use of the 128MB RAM upgrade. At the moment their ROM will only make use of 64MB of the 128MB RAM available.

I hear that someone ask me performances of ram of 112 MB, I do not extoll my device .many applications installed in 900 witness great and obvious improvements of functioning. when d900 operates in 20 applications. my gear still keep 60MB . IS this a supposedly miracle .hoho.
if you had chances .you ought to upgrade ram. you may experience dramaticly idiosyncrasies.

Great, I see that you have upgraded the RAM to 128MB, I'm still not quite sure how you managed to get Beast and Leos 2.08.01 ROM to recognise the full 128MB of RAM. Did you download mamaichs ROM and extract the patch and apply it to the 2.08.01 ROM?
I would also like to install 2.08.01 but not sure of what all I need to do.

I intend to try and change the actual WM 6.5 on my htc touch viva to android (rom, not by SD card) and I would like to know the new battery performance in the same equipment, running android (of course, starting from the state that I'm really able to move to Android)!

normal behaviour atm - could have noticed that by READING the post were u got the "Rom" from...
Battery consumption is higher in android roms atm.
1. Affected by some Kernel problems (slowly getting fixed)
2. SD card as it takes more power then the internal rom. But as long as there is no NAND-Flash for our devices it will be that way.
Plz remember Android for HTC devices ist still in dev status - if u want to speed up development - help kernel testing.
