Hi,
I wanted to install the sms update from the HTC site. The update states it is for rom 1.66.XXX.X or lower. Since I have 1.66 it should be no prob I tought..
Well, when trying to install the exe. from my memcard, it says "This hotfix is not compatible with your device"
Any idea whats going wrong?
You shouldn't need the SMS fix for 1.66 as its already included in the ROM.

Hmm I tought I might need it since the last msg I tried to send didn't got true...
The update said for ROM 1.66
Hmmm the english site states less than 1.66, while the dutch site states 1.66 or less.
NL HTC site:
Deze update is alleen van toepassing op de rom-versie 1.66.XXX.X of lager.
Guess it will be for lower then 1.66 then..

Yeh... No idea why it doesn't want to install..

I've just screwed up my iPDA's radio stack by upgrading it to 4.21.00 (O2 upgrade). :?
I really need someone to help me getting out of this mess! Does anyone owns a Bouygues iPDA with the original radio stack ROM and who can gently pass it on?

Why would you re-flash your XDA with the old originial Bouygues rom ?
Rather put a kitchened Rom from Jeff site (a WM2003 based rom or a 3.17.03 based rom as well)
It works great on my Bouygues Ipda ...

Yes I got a problem with the 4.21.00 RSU... I don't any signal at all...
My previous Radio version had a weird numering: R3... something instead of the usual "4.xx.xx"... Do you think there could be several hardware design of the iPDA?
By the way if someone has the original Bouygues RSU, please let me know!

You know what...
I found the solution to my problem by myself...!
For those who encountered the same issue:
1. Bootload the PDA (hold "On/Off" button and soft reset)
2. Enter the GSM module test menu by pushing the Calendar button
3. In the menu, select this sequence:
- GSM TURN ON
- GSM RESET
- GSM 900 / 1800
In fact the RSU upgrade will kind of resetup the GSM module (or turn it off), which is apparently not suitable for the French network. So one has to set the GSM module with the right parameters...
I guess this is applicable to other countries as well.

Hey in the menu I noticed options "GSM 1900" along with "GSM 900" and "GSM 1800"... Do you think the XDA is actually TRI-BAND?
Well pleased for you if it works.
Personnally I put a WM2003 4.00.05 rom and it works well.
I also saved the original rom form bouygue if needed (but it is really a too old rom)
I've just downloaded the following ROM.
RUU_Polaris_VF_FR_3.13.163.0_radio_sign_25.85.30.07_1.59.42.23_Ship.exe
Just installed it.
It is the standard SFR ROM with Windows Mobile 6.1.
A few differences with the previous one.
Finally official WM 6.1 are starting to be released officialy (at least from the HTC web site) !

I've just installed it, no revolutionary change (HTC home plugin etc...)
It works well (I've tested GPS, Wifi, phone) and perfomances seems to be improved.

In order to do what you want, you need to register on the sfr web site, and to be able to register, you need to have a french mobile line.
If your brother has one, you can ask him to open an acount with is french phonne numer, it will gives you an email adress from where you can sent 10 free sms per day to sfr mobile.

this rom + manilla 2D?
Does some one tried to add manilla to this rom?
I like manilla and I like tyhis rom because it's less buggy than the existing polaris rom which includes manilla.
When I add manilla to it, it's working but I don't have any of text of manilla,
for example in the people tab page, all people and remove button, ...
Does some one know which manilla or supplementary file I should install on top of this rom to having manilla works?

Those who are on SFR mobile have the possibility of setting-up an e-mail account based on their phone number : i.e : [email protected]
Then anybody can use the e-mail address on a PDA to convey messages which would be received by the recipient.
My reply may possibly not be completely inline with your request, is it?
However, why don't you ask your brother to connect to SFR site which although a labyrinth, is nevertheless self-explanatory.

Just got my Hero, which is a Belgian one (sans Youtube)
It's running build 2.73.1100.5 at the moment, but on the htc website I can find two other ones being Hero_2.73.405.5 and 2.73.66.5 (for Orange Belgium, which is Mobistar)
I'm guessing that my phone is a Mobistar/orange one, even though I bought it unbranded.
But I can't upgrade! I downloaded the 405.5 elsewhere and managed to run the installer but it gives an error when patching the phone.
So, what should I do? I can't download the orange one because it denies my SN. Should I keep the current version or dabble into custom roms etc...
And is the 1100 never then the 66 one?
Maybe try to download the orange version again and see if it works. If you got a original Mobistar Hero then the update for that device should work.
I bought my Hero in holland and with SN i do get the update for holland.

I wouldn't even bother trying to download the standard ROMs when you've got the option to install the Modaco v2.8 custom one instead. For me, I won't install a standard ROM again, they're too slow compared to the custom ROM. Go to the developer forum page and check out the v2.8 thread, it has all of the instructions, files etc required. You won't regret it.

I flashed my Leo with the last official WWE ROM.
My original ROM was from Orange France and I want to find it and look at some settings like TV streaming that I can't get working on WWE.
Do someone knows a way to get it back ?
Can a friend with that ROM dump it to a file (nbh ? how ?) and me one my side flash it on my device ?

Motorola distributed some links to access update packages for Flipout, e.g. UK, Italy, Germany on facebook. I tried to update my flipout with original German o2 rom and the update failed. Since then, my flipout won't boot, when I switch the device on, noting happens, only Motorola logo is shown.

K... it picked up on it being on the card, rebooted and came the the screen with the exclaimation triangle, from there I could reboot, or hit update.zip and watch a stream of text. Either way phone is fine but no update has happened.

i have too 1.14.2.MB511.Retail.en.CEE version and i try update this on a UKpack but it not run, i have unroot phone... and my layout on keyboard is qwerty...
maybe I am doing it wrong but i do it that like on motorola site instruction is it, step by step... :/
