On my HD2 my volume goes up and down by only 3 bars at a time so at the very lowest for say a song or video in a very quite place will still be too loud but the lowest I can get it is onto 3 bars, if only I could get it to 1 bar I'm sure lowering it by another 2 would do the trick!!
thanks for any help and advice!

If you use the volume keys, the HTC volume control screen will pop up.
If you press the volume keys again, the volume will increase or decrease with 3 bars.
But you can also press the volume bar itself (with your finger) and like this, you can increase or decrease 1 bar at the time
Grtz,
Degake
I'd like to see a tweak to change the volume rocker to use 1 bar increments. 3 bars is too much I find, so I often have to go to the player to make the adjustment.

What player do you use Craig??
Yes it is quite annoying that pressing the volume hardware buttons makes the volume go up or down by 3 bars. would be alot better if it went up and down by only 1 bar. Maybe someone can tweak this so it can go up and and down by 1 bar? its i know you can use your finger to slide the volume bar but it would be better if you could just use the volume buttons to do this.
Thanks, hope someone can figure it out

I was using Windows Media Player but now that I have Duttys HG V1 Rom it's fast enough to use the built in Sense player.

HG V1 Rom run on HD2?
I have to agree with craigpyro and sagam12 and would really like to reduce the volume interval to be more intricate. A typical example is when listening to music and phone is in pocket. You press the rocker to turn volume up, only to then be too loud so you turn it down to then be too quiet. You end up having to remove phone from pocket and use the on screen volume to then set the desired volume. Very frustrating!
Any tweaks??

What happened to dedicated volume keys like on the 8125?
How am I supposed to adjust the volume quickly? the scroll wheel?
Try tapping on the sound icon at the top of the screen. That should bring up a pop-up that has volume sliders in it.

Yup, but I wanted some real keys to press like there should be on every phone.
i too am looking for a way to do this as well...
The scroll wheel will adjust the volume while on a call. When not on a call, it will just scroll through whichever app you're using at that moment.
Edit: If you get those tones when using it, like us TyTN users did, there is a registry edit to eliminate that. Follow this link, about 2/3 down the page.

You can try a 3rd-party app like Pocket Plus for a soft solution...
You could downgrade to a Wizard/8125/etc. but that would suck.
Before pressing the volume button it would increase or decrease the volume and show the volume. But now whenever pressing it now it would just get to the volume screen and not increase/decrease volume, Have to manually use the touch screen to increase or decrease by sliding.
Also pressing ti twice it would just close the volume screen and highlight the clock or calender with a green background.
This is a problem whenever watching on youtube. By pressing the volume button the volume shows up on the left but it doesnt actually increase/decrease. Also the volume cannot be slided on this screen
just unistall valert!!!
it's known problem.
waiting for a fix!
The thing is, I dont have valert installed. I never even heard of valert
It's a bug in some custom ROMs (don't know, which one you use).
Maybe you can fix it using TopazKeyboardControl (great app) and reconfigure the buttons manually.

I used the one of the asian roms.
Thanks for the TopazKeyboardControl app suggestion, will try that out and see how it goes
EDIT: Just installed The said application and mapped the volume up and volume down buttons, but they still give the problems above.
Try to install the Topaz vol cab:

@ Ksp4ce : Wanna know if you solved your problem with this ... ??
I have a similar issue with the volume sound bar ....... as if my volume low button was always pushed .....
I have the same problem, has anyone figured out what fixes this?
FIXED
So I fixed my issue with this by uninstalling Chobit Smartlock
While trying to adjust the volume on the HTC music player tab using the left hardware volume rocker the music temporarily cuts for about 2-3 seconds before the volume changes. There is no visual volume indicator on the screen either. Also the increments are pretty large.
Does anyone have this problem? Help please!
I have the same "feature"- except my volume increments are pretty small- I have to press volume up or down many times to hear an appreciable difference, but there is also no visual indication of volume change.
Are we alone with this issue?
Anyone else have this issue?
did you try launching the audio booster from inside music player menu? This should take control of the volume as well.....
About 90% of the time I get a speaker icon and horizontal volume indicator, and the increments are 15 steps from 0 to 100%.
The other 10% of the time, my volume buttons skip forward and back.
Go figure!
I have the same proble with 1.48 rom and 1.61 rom. I don't know what triggers the situation but mostly, it runs correct. Soft reset fixes the situation but I don't know why this happens.
Lately I have the same problem too.. In fact that once the visual volume indicator didn't appear, try tapping the upper taskbar.. the whole screen turns black and become unstable, thus needing a soft reset?
Any idea why???
Most of the problems with the volume overlay are due to custom task bar icons. If you select nice icons that are not fully compatible with your manila version, you have this problem with volume overlay.
If you come back to original status icons, you will see that music volume overlay work well.
If so, you have to find a set of taskbar icons compatible with your manila.

My taskbar icons are the original ones..never tweaked them before..
Perhaps there is some other thing that give you the problem with the volume overlay.
In my case was the taskbar icons.

Mine are all original too, however in two or three days time, the problem occurs. Just after a soft reset everything is fine. I've e-mailled to HTC UK about this problem and they told me that they're aware of the problem and developers are examining this. I kindly ask other users to e-mail their problem to HTC. Maybe a hotfix can come sooner.
Yeah I get this now and again... and then it clears up randomly. Then comes back at later date.
A slight workaround is to go to another tab and change the volume, then you get the grey menu with the 15 bars and it doesn't cause stutters in the music.
Might there be a registry tweak for the number of steps for the volume button? I generally listen to music with the screen off. If I want to change the volume using the physical button I am limited to 5 steps. However, the volume control for the HTC player has 15 steps; much more usable. Is there any way to change the button increments to 15?
Thanks in advance.

It looks like if you go to the registry you can change where you want the small volume control used in music player to appear and add it to other apps. So hopefully someone will be able to figure out a way to make it appear all the time.
Hi folks
in the iphone, when i had the headphones plugged in, i use the volume buttons to control the music sound level. This thing works in every app where i was, just as long i listen to music at the same time. for example, i´m writing some emails and listining music at same time. If i choose to increase the sound level of the music, i just touch the up volume button.
But in hd2, i´m only capable of control the music sound level in the "music tab" of the sense UI.
Is there any tweak the i can control the music level when i´m in another app instead of "music tab"?
thanks a lot for your help
best regards
Your HD2 should do this already, adjust volume no matter what
program/app you are using ??
Yes it does. But on music tab, only appears a green bar of the volume control.
If i´m stay on another app, appears that horrible grey screen of sound control with that horrible "beeps" each time i press up or down.
What i want is the same situation like on the "music tab" (that green bar of the sound). You know what i´m trying to say?

Ah,yes now I understand....
There are various cabs to skin both of the volume controls and to remove the beeps, but I haven't seen one that replaces the standard volume for the
Sense music tab volume whilst in another program...
You can of course install Co0kies Home tab and put the music player right on your
one of your home screens in 3 different sizes...
With "touch tools" theres a tool to add the green sense volume overlay to other apps, you just run the app, shake your phone then whenever you use the volume keys in that app you'll get the nice volume meter.........
I dont know if its possible to get that to work on the home screen though..........
Just tried it, cant get it to work on ther manila tabs.
Its still quite handy though for things like opera and ereaders etc........
hello
thanks for your help.
where can i get that app?
thanks a lot
I found it in the search box but you can find it here..............
Once its installed its the "slim volume" your after........
Theres a few other nice little features in touch tools too, its a handy thing to have......
thanks a lot.
i´ll try that
cheers
