[Q] Recommend a Firmware

Hi,
I am just posting cause I am new here, and also have some questions and problems with my new X8 from Three.
Basically, the main snag I currently have is that the phone seems very slow with the default software from SE.
Also, the phone seems to be charging completely within about 15 minutes when below 20%, is this correct or probably a fault?
Also, will flashing to a custom software make the phone more responsive and better to use than the current SE software.
Currently the versions are:
Model Number: E15i
Firmware Version: 2.1-update1
Baseband Version: M76XX-TSNCJOLY-53404015
Kernel Version: 2.6.29 - SEMCUser(at)SEMCHost #1
Build Number: 2.1.1.A.0.6
Any assistance is appreciated.
I recommend MiniCM6 1.0.0 RC1
It's android 2.2 and the most stable ROM around here. Everything working.
best always.......... its like final version

[Q] ROM for S4 Clone I9502 with MT6572 or not?

Hello guys,
i'm kind of desperate, because i really dont know where to search anymore, so i go ask now.
here are the sad facts:
i got a s4-clone, which should be hdc galaxy s4 lte with mt6589 processor. i bricked it (won't tell how, too retarded), do not have a recovery, but preloader still working. as i try to flash some random rom (as there are many for s4 clones with mt6589 ) using flash tool i always get the same error, telling me the rom is 6589 and target is 6572.
so the first guess is i got a different phone with mt6572 processor, but droidtools reads as follows:
Hardware : MT6589
Model : GT-I9502
Build number : JDQ39.I9502ZSUAMDF
Build date UTC : 20130705-144259
Android v : 4.2.2
Baseband v: MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V1, 2013/06/29 17:32
Kernel v : 3.4.5 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #1 SMP Fri Jul 5 22:40:30 CST 2013
i'm stuck at a very disappointing point, because i really dont know what to do anymore as there are no roms for mt6572 to try. does any of you professionals have a guess what to do now? (flash tool and droid tools are latest version)

With the rush of clone S4's available it would be impossible to safely flash your firmware...
You are stuck on whatever version of Android you have, be it gingerbread, ICS or Jellybean....
ok, i know noobish questions are not wanted here, but due to my noobishness and kind of intense research i have to ask: if i got a copy of masterofdarker's formware and i'd flash it except the preloader (as mine still works ) would there be the slight possibility of unbricking my phone??

Hi there, I'm a new member to the forum, but have been browsing XDA for some time.
I too have an S4 clone which I bought from a Chinese retailer through Amazon, and have bricked mine through a comedy of errors!
I can't remember which app I used to get the following, but this is the read-out from my device:
ALPS GT I9502
SYSTEM (Android 4.2.2)
Model: GT-I9502
Manufacturer: alps
Chipset: MT6572
Device: android_4x_wet_jb3
Product: android_4x_wet_jb3
Brand: GT-I9502
Android Version: 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean)
API Level: 17
Build ID: JDQ39
Fingerprint: GT-I9502/android_4x_wet_jb3/android_4x_wet_jb3:4.2.2/JDQ39/1377237676:user/test-keys

Does this look similar to anything in your device?
The only thing I think will work to get the device working again would be to get hold of the stock ROM, however I can't find one anywhere which matches the chipset.
I've heard that using the Android Kitchen, it's possible to create a new ROM using a dump of the "/system" from a working device; apparently using Terminal Emulator on the device and type the following:
Code:
tar -c system/* >> sdcard/system.tar
Is that correct? If so, if anyone recognises the above specs on their own device, I would be really grateful for any help. Obviously being a new member I'm not expecting anyone to start sending me a dump of their "/system" (!) but any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance

[Q] Problem after flashing a kernel

Hi! I'm using a custom rom called Hyperion 9 (Gold Master Final Build). Almost all users recommend the installation of kernel Hells Fusion #50 for better performance. The problem is that I tried to install it via CWM (or that Aroma Installer), and after the system loaded and the media scan finished, it just froze completely. I am using another kernel now called Deviant Kernel #2, that installed with no problem. What am I doing wrong? I am not allowed to post directly at Hyperion's thread (new user) and I must say I'm completely new at this thing of flashing kernels. I really need help.
Some system specs of my device:
Baseband version
S5360BUTLG1
Kernel Version
2.6.35.7
[email protected] #2

[KERNEL][ICS/AOSP] Electron Kernel [-O3][SM~4.9.3]

Just gonna keep this short for you guys. This device is pretty old, and really there isnt much development going on. I dont have the time to work on a lollipop port, nor do I really care enough to try. That being said, I've mixed NUK3RN3L and StarKissed into one kernel, and have added a **** ton of optimizations. The full changes can be seen in my source code HERE. Lets squeeze what optimizations we can out!
Code:
ifdef USE
export DISCLAIMER="Use at your own risk, I'm not responsible for any mishaps or damage"
else
export YOUR_LOSS="You're missing out!"
endif
Major Changes(simplified for non devs):
Improved Memory Managment
Improved Overall performance
Updated from GCC-4.4 to SM-4.9.3(Toolchain)
Download: BasketBuild

I'm glad I glanced at the forum today! Thank you for this.
Question, what should the Kernel version read if it is successfully installed?
Mine says 3.0.16-nuk3rn3l [email protected] #3 PREEMPT
Is that correct?

Well, no. But mine hasnt changed either despite it being correctly flashed. Im pretty sure its just a problem with the ROM not detecting the change in kernel. You can download trickster mod or a similar app to check from there.

I downloaded Trickster and it says the kernel is "Linux version 3.0.16nuk3l ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.4.3 (GCC) ) #3 PREEMPT Fri Jul 12"
Is that what it should say or something else? What does your's say?
Edit: I just reflashed the kernel. Same reading on Trickster. I'm beginning to think that it might be the ROM not displaying the kernel name. I'm running NuSenseRom Reborn 6.0. I THINK I noticed a difference but it might just be a placebo effect. Hahah.
I think it did take. My battery charged in 1/2 the time it normally takes.
happy new year 2015
hmm..what feature on this kernel?
thanks you for post new stuff here btw
Just discovered that WiFi is broken. Says "error" in main settings menu after attempting to turn on the service.
