I've flashed my T8282 with Miri's ROM ver 21 of his last one. GPS on Latitude and TOMTOM worked fine for few days and since then its totally gone even in places where it was working good.
I've even updated the Radio (from 1.09 to 1.12) and even then I can't get any signals. I've got a T3333 as well and both kept together, T3333 picks up 4 signals whereas T8282 doesn't pick anything.
Help would be much appreciated.
Cheers.

That rom is discontinued and its not necessarily just aimed at Miri users. Others can help too, if they can.
works fine for me... be sure u have updated the quick gps data..
MOD EDIT - Moved to general discussion as its a GPS issue, not a rom issue

All,
I have recently upgrade to Xda Live v0.20 an has been working great since doing so...

Spoke to a friend who has upgraded his rom and said all the issues that he had went... Ah ha.... i thought... thats what i need...
So i ask... what is the latest radio rom that works and is there a small chance that i will brick my device....

I'm running the LVSW Edition of WM6. I have radio 1.34.00.10 and seems to run fine though not had the OS installed long.
Would like to try radio 1.35.00.11 but cannot seem to download from xda ftp. Can anyone point to another source for this radio rom?
Cheers

Are you trying this site for the ftp (Hermes Uploads)? ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Hermes.
Or this one ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Hermes/Extracted_Radio_ROMs/
Both started downloading ok for me.
Why do you want to upgrade from 1.34.00.10 to 1.35.00.11? From what I've read in some of the other threads the only benefit the 1.35 radio has is that it is GPS enabled - not much use because the Hermes is no good for GPS.
I've made the above statements from paraphrasing others because I haven't compared these radios and don't need GPS - so I'll be happy if others correct me.
Maybe a bit of reading (probably lots really ) could save you the time of an un-necessary upgrade - but probably finding the info will take longer than flashing the rom!!!
so your saying that there is no need to upgrade my rom....
There is benefit for me in doing so?

Excuse me, but the Hermes is gooed for GPS. The only thing is that our Hermes-gods are working on an antenna. The antenna is not (yet) connected to the 'GPS-chip'. GPS worls, but there is only a weak signal.

Hi, I've got TomTom Navigator 6 installed on my Trinity and it all works fine, except it takes about 5 minutes before it picks up any satellites when I run it - does anybody know if there's a fix to enable to gps chip to pick up satellites a bit quicker than this? Even when I'm outside and away from tall buildings it's the same. Any help or suggestions would be great.
Thanks
Works fine on my Trinity. I think I have the following : Trinity-Radio-ROM-1[1].41.00.11-by-ZakMcRofl, installed so maybe try putting this Radio ROM on. There maybe better Radio ROMs but this one works fine for me.
Less than a minute from a cold start and even works inside the house. It is faster at getting a fix than my Kaiser.
I have the official HTC ROM upgrade on my Trinity and like the OP it takes a wee while to get a fix. I am learninig to live with it.
in my rom i have a program called "QuickGPS"; every 3 days it downloads a file (few KB) that contains some data about satellite positions - this should accelerate FIXing process... in theory.
Try it!
An alternative could be having GPS "always on" with another program running minimized!
I have the exact the same problem using destinator! Well i just read somewhere that a prog called "gps gate" seems to make our job but i dont know yet.I have to find it and try it. Plus i dont want to have always gps on cause i need battery to speak...
as mentioned in a previous post, id check the radio version u have installed, and maybe update it mate....
different radio versions run differently with roms......its pot luck.
try the 1.46....or the 1.50 radio....they work well on mine...
Radio 1.38.00.11
Radio 1.41.00.11
Radio 1.46.00.11/30.11
Radio 1.50.08.11
I tried the Radio 1.50.08.11 and found that it indeed did pick up GPS 2x faster than my original Radio, issue was it has no 3G capability, it switched me to EDGE, so I went back.
Also HTC QuickGPS fails to download the updates for me....
You can try that :
http://rapidshare.com/files/25607303/SeaSGEE.exe
It's like QuickGPS ...
Just run it each time before using the GPS (don't wait the 3 days) ... It's works fine for me ...
try PDAMOBIZ ROM's
try PDAMOBIZ ROM's for me they can get a much faster fix than all the others
maybe due to some tweaks - not sure but costantly got a fix in <60sec. compared to 4/5 min. in the same location
................or you could try the new radio thats out as of today for the trinity......
1.56.70.11

Radio 1.50.08.11 works like a charm for me....full 3G and HSDPA so I am not sure what the problem is on your P3600i.
I have found that GPS Quick Position is useful (even if just for the Placebo effect). Time to first fix is not an issue for me....lots of people complain about it on the Trinity and compare it to the PNA GPS units...but really there has to be something of a compromise on a phone/GPS/PDA otherwise the thing would be a Laptop.

A UK company are now selling TomTom 7 software that is compatible with Touch HD.
http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php/539/tomtom-navigator-7-software---map-of-western-europe
I wonder if this will solve the GPS dropout problems that I'm experiencing with my current version 7.915. The problem is that you have to buy a new map to get the latest software, I've already paid for the Europe map, so I looks like I'll have to buy the UK map and not use it to get the latest "compatible" software and knowing my luck it won't fix the dropouts anyway .
GPS Dropout
im using TomTom 7 and Igo8 on my HD and i dont have any GPS dropout, granted when it first aquires the lock it does flash locked/unlocked for about 10 - 15 seconds then thats it, its locked and stays locked, works best on igo8 though locks straight away and stays locked, and if im honest i think i prefer IGO8 even though i have graduated with tomtom 5,6, and now 7, but still nice to have both
Unfortunately, I'm having real trouble.

Mine is driving me around the bend.
Using TomTom 7, it works fine for a time and then the GPS stops working. Exiting and restarting TomTom always brings it back. Time scale is random, it can work for hours before going tits up.
I've tried three different Roms, five different radios, two different versions of TomTom 7, AGPS is disabled, GPS mode set to 1.
It's starting to look like a hardware problem.

I've just disabled Quick GPS and deleted xtra.bin from the windows directory in case it's a corrupt ephemeris problem, I don't hold out too much hope though.

I wish mine was and it's not for want of trying.
My last hope is that it's something to do with me being, currently, in the South of France. The problem got progressively worse as I drove south from UK. Perhaps it's something to do with the phone downloading a UK ephemeris which is no good in Southern Europe. Although it must be said that I did not have this problem with TomTom 6 on my previous two phones, Artemis and TyTnII.
I've had problems with tomtom on cooked roms, but having gone back to the last UK stock rom and tomtom 7.915 i have had no problems at all.

The quick gps experiment didn't help, I just had three dropouts in forty minutes .

Thanks, but I've tried hard resets and reinstallation of tomtom to no avail.
Roms I've tried are:
1.14.405.3
1.56.405.1
1.57.831.1
Dutty's 3.2XT
Dutty's 3.3XT
All exhibit the same problem with tomtom, ie random GPS dropouts. I think the only thing I can do is to buy the official release version that states compatibility, then I can get some tech support from tomtom and HTC.

The last standard UK rom from HTC is a 1.56 variant (you can download it from the HTC website with your HD serial number).
I had problems with tomtom when running versions 3 and 3.3 of dutty's roms, when either the program wouldn't start (it would just crash back to the today screen) or no satellites would be seen or the program would just freeze when navigating (used to happen a lot on 90 degree bends for some reason.
I suspect the cooked rom issues may be linked to memory usage, but i'm not sure.
I use tomtom a great deal (probably 20+ hours a week), so decided to go back to the stock rom and i've not had 1 single problem in the 2 weeks since.
You've probably covered this elsewhere in your thread, but it may be worth installing HDTweak and making sure that you've got AGPS switched off.
Good luck
Spudgun
anyone know what the version is ?? 7.x or 8 ?? that's offically supported
As there isn't a navigator 8 yet, I would be absolutely shocked if it was anything but 7.x

I'm using the same rom as you at the moment with no luck. Tried all permutations of agps/no agps using hdtweak and gps mode in registry, also tried another SD card. This is so annoying as I'm on a driving holiday in Europe. I've just downloaded Davideuck's WM6.5 rom and will try that, clutching at straws here.
The freezing you had with Dutty's roms sounds like the same problem I'm getting. It's completely random, can work fine for hours and can freeze twice in five minutes, mine seems worse in slow or stationary traffic, but it can happen anywhere and usually does it at the most inconvenient moment. If I exit and restart tomtom, it comes straight back. I suspect it's something to do with timing somewhere.
Which version of the maps are you using?
Where have you got tomtom installed (i've got it installed on the device)?
Which radio are you using? (i've found 1.13 to be the most reliable)

best of luck to you
Do you do a 'clear storage' when you flash? just in case there is a bad settings file somewhere on your storage card?
I had a torrid time getting tomtom to work 100% reliably on a cooked rom, but have never had any problems on a stock rom, so this has effectively cured my 'flashing fever' and i'm happy to stick with what i've got now, especially as i had tomtom lockups all the time on a way to a wedding in central manchester a few weeks back that caused no end of grief in the car
Arrrrrgggghhhhhh......
It did it again .
The only difference this time was that the navigator screen went grey and showed no satellites rather than pretend that nothing had happened and carry on showing motion albeit slowly leaving the road. It looks like it's the gps module switching itself off from time to time and requiring a restart. I seem to remember seeing something about a registry controlled timer, I'll look into that now.
What you describe above is exactly what happened to me when i was running one of dutty's roms. I would lose signal and it would wander off road before going round in a big circle and ending up at the point where it lost signal. I would also find that for some time afterwards i was unable to see any satellites in any GPS application.
I tried flagging it up on the forums here thinking it was an issue in the cooked rom, but I didn't get anywhere. Thankfully a stock HTC rom got everything as it should be and i navigated without any issue at all around the south east of england for 3 days (approx 18 hours of GPS time) last week and also made a couple of trips this weekend without issue.

So is this a legit TomTom Navigator 7 package for HTC Touch HD?
If so, great.
But I also need North America maps. Where would I be able to purchase those from, or would I need to buy them in the US? Is it then just as simple as loading the new maps onto a card?
Guys,
we need to have some sort of a poll for the best radio out there so that everyone can benefit from it.

just use the newest..
and the result of this will not be plain the "best" radio. also you don't know about different networks in different countries etc... i second my precessor, just use the newest as long as it doesn't make trouble.
I use the newest one, until i find a problem.
you won't find a problem with newer ones, since all radios as of yet are abysimal at best with 3G
Bluetooth now works well on 63.18.55.06IU_6.35.08.22
I am in the UK and did the update from HTC to fix the Sense speed etc.
Once I did this my Bluetooth stack was shot. Dropped all the time and would hang connecting to A2DP unless I did a reboot etc.
Not sure what the radio number was in that build.
I just got fed up and rooted my phone and flashed 63.18.55.06IU_6.35.08.22.
Wow, now Bluetooth is working like a charm (only been 1 day but a world of difference).
3G and 2G seem the same as before for connection and signal etc.
Just thought I would let you all know my findings.

Russ

hi alpha, the newest one is: 63.18.55.06IU_6.35.08.22

Hello Everybody. I have been tested my hd2 now with the radio version installed:
2.10.50.28_2
Search on google and you will find it.
With this radio installed, your connection will be released, and you will not have to cancel connection before it will work again.
Before i had this radio installed, my connection was dropped like every 1 hour maybe.. it havent been disconneced since i installed it! SO YES!!
Makes the HD2 alot better!
I found this solution here on this site, so this is just a confirmation that it really works. Btw. I use Artemis 21.5 - just if you wonder.
Cya!
yup
that did it for me too for my stock 1,.66 rom.
have not had a disconnect in over 20 days now.
I've also had great luck with the 2.12 radio.
