Hi. I have 3vo custom ROM (lates build, not testing), and found one, very annoyng thing:
I have 2 types of the contacts: in my SIM card, and in my Device memory.
I would like to use contacts from the device only.
I go to the Contacts -> Menu -> FIlter -> Device contacts.
After I do this, everything is ok - I see only my device contacts (synced with my outlook). However, when I leave this program (push the Home button, or whatever another) and then return to Contacts - I see the same - SIM card phone numbers.
Please help me with that.
In 6.1 there were no issues, and it was easy to filter out...
Maybe there is some registry key or something?
Thanks!
in your phone settings
go to settings-phone-call option-unselect show sim contacs.
and your done. bam! no sim contacts in your list anymore.

I like to have all my contacts saved onto my phone so I can add pictures and other info to the contact infromation that it doesnt allow you to do if it is just on the sim card... I also like to keep all my contacts on my sim card in case the phone crashes and I need to pull the sim and switch phones.. here is my problem. Since I have my contacts on both my phone and my sim, they show duplicates in the contacts list. Is there any way to filter out the sim card contacts so I dont have 2 of everyone(1 on phone, 1 on sim)??

Hi all
I copied my contacts over from my sim but now am left with 2 sets of contacts how do i get ride of the sim contacts(can i use shcapps)
Thanks
Robert
Double, triple contacts are caused by outlook. In sinchronizations settings on PC u have to make update items on pc, not pda.Something like that. I dont use that by myself. Hope u will fix it.
U can use schaps for sim contacts.
Use the SIM Manager that is in Programs (can also be accessed from within Contacts). That should allow you to delete contacts from the SIM card quickly.
Thanks
Used shcapps tool to get rid of them

Hi, when my contacts are copied from SIM to phone, 191 elements, they become 382 on the hd contacts memory...also verified with SKTools, database function, are 382...obviously this cause caller id problems...thanks
If you copy them, of course, you still have the ones in sim and the ones on handheld... Move them, instead, or disable showing sim contacts (the fastest way is via HDTweak)

also after a soft reset and without SIM the contacts are duplicated:
- deleted all phone contacs with Outlook Contacts, reset.
- copied all contact(191) from SIM to HD with SIM Manager, power off and SIM removed
- The contacts stored on pda are always 382, why?
HTC doesn't have the option of hiding SIM contacts once you copy them to your internal memory which gives you duplicate entries to your contacts folder. HD Tweak can change this. Once installed, run it, and under SIM options, check "hide SIM contacts" and you're on the go. The disadvantage though, is the settings are defaulted once you soft reset your phone, so you gotta have to redo the process again.

thanks but...the contacts are duplicated on the phone memory....also resetting without SIM inserted
sktools did the trick for me
do what other guys said, then use sktools to delete duplicate items and there you are!
good luck!
ps: take good care what you do as long as you can delete all your contacts.
previously make a back-up with pim or similar
already tried with SKTools>Databases>Contact database; Empty or Delete. Soft Reset. After, when the SIM contacts (191 elements) are copied on the phone they result 382...also without SIM inserted and after a second soft reset
sktools - category (lower left corner button) - PIM - duplicated contacts
and so on...
i am not talking about databases
great, now works! thanks!
does anyone know of an easy way to import all my SIM contacts into my phone.
I am using my X1 with the sbp panel (tried the shell 2.0 but didnt like it). I want to have my speed dial contacts on the 3rd pane, but I cant add photos to the sim conacts, only to the phone contacts..
instead of importing my contacts one by one, or creating new ones i was hoping there was a way to mass import them...forgive me if im being dumb!

It is written in the manual, page 7.
"SIM Manager – Manage the contacts stored on your
USIM/SIM card. You can also copy USIM/SIM contents
to Contacts in your phone."
So, use the SIM manager and the options it provides to select all contacts anc copy them to the phone.
I'm relatively new to mobile phones.
I was using a Samsung Blue Earth S7550 briefly and input a bunch of contacts into it; names, tel. numbers and photos etc.
I was under the assumption that when you take your SIM card out and put it into another phone all of your contacts remain intact on the new phone.
I made sure that the phone contacts were on both the phone and SIM card.
Now when I put the SIM into my Samsung i9000, none of the contacts are there.
Is there something I must do to get it to work?
The phone recognizes the SIM at startup.
I hope I won't have to input all that data again.
TIA
yes, they should be visible. there is an option to hide sim contacts, maybe you have inadvertently enabled that.
contacts->menu->display option->choose contacts to display "CHECK SIM"
there is a check mark in settings you can enable to read the contacts from the SIM card
or you can export it from Outlook (if you are using outlook)
then import it using one of these contact management tools
