OK, received my Touch HD from Orange yesterday and am pretty pleased with it however I have a couple of questions/queries:
I thought the screen was supposed to feedback all touches? It feeds back when pressing the bottom buttons (home, back call and end) and when using opera it feeds back, but I was expecting it to do so when for example composing emal and text message for each press of the onscreen keyboard?
Secondly and this may be normal for windows mobile (haven't owned winmo for a few years) but when I have a call coming in it rings for the caller at least two rings before the phone starts ringing, it shows the call icon at the top of the screen for a good few seconds before switching to the incomming call screen and when I answer it it continues vibrating for a few more seconds after I think I have answered it....this is confusing as I am not sure whther I have answered it or not!?
Any help or advice on these two 'features' would be great.

There's an utility a little down in the topic, that seems to do the job.
Excelllent - that worked a treat!
Sorry should have known it was already answered here somewhere..slap wrist for not searching!!
Any ideas on the delays in answering calls etc..??
hello everyone, quick question
im looking for a locking program that will lock the screen when i press the power button (device goes into standby) and when it wakes up
the default locking program with WM is annoying because you can lock the phone BUT when u get an incoming call or text message, the screen becomes unlocked again and its easy to "answer" it accidently when its in your pocket. this is particularly annoying with text messages, because most of the time i wont even realize i have one and the phone will be awake for hours draining the battery and waiting to be pushed. anyways ive done several searches and come up with the following solutions, none of which work for me
1. S2U2, i dont like it, i tried it, wont use it again
2. SensorLock - An EXCELLENT locker, except it wont work on phones without Accelerometers...works wonderfully on the diamond tho
can anyone suggest something to me
First, set timeout for turning screen off autoamtically. This will solve SMS wakeup problem - screen will turn off automatically after some time.
Next thing, incoming calls - there is great Onyx ROM with Opal's slider - to answer a call, you need to slide your finger from center to left (or to right to ignore it). You can't answer accidentally using it
i appreciate your suggestions but neither works for me
i tried the opal but it didnt work properly, i actually had to hard reset to get rid of it
as for the timeout, it still doesnt solve the problem of the phone becoming ACTIVE as soon as a notification or text message is received
I tried good searching this and searching it here and it didnt come up.
This is a bizarre issue that has been intermittent for a while but has been very persistent over the last few weeks.
It seems that every time my phone rings and i take it out of my pocket to answer it hangs up on the call and doesn't even put a 'miss call' notification in the status bar. I am sure im not pressing the end call button before anyone asks!
Then if i try to dial back immediately it wont call - it goes to the call screen and then immediately goes red and says 'call ended'
I'm using root and jeasusfreak cupcake
I have the same problem
Do you have grooveshark appl too ?
hi guys
i have a slight issue with the hd2..for the first time i have been left frustated with the device due to the occasional freezes but i can live with that..Can i just add the battery life is also doing my head
my main problem, within the last week or so i have noticed that i am receiving text messages late ranging from 1 to 30 mins (obviously it shows the time sent on the sms) this is mainly when the phone is locked and when i press any button it will vibrate and notify me of the msg regardless if the phone is on vibrate or on normal sometimes if the phone is locked and i go to unlock it there be 3 or 4 text messages showing this is really annoying as you can imagine receiving a sms 30mins after it was sent
i believe it may be a handset fault as i am receiving the text but as soon i press any button it wakes the phone up and my sms appear what you think?
im running stock 1.72 uk tmobile , searched this forum there are a few threads whereby other users have experienced this but i could not find a solution? shall i call tmobile? have you experienced this? any ideas let me know ..thanks
Seems that whenever I disconnect a phone call, the call log is automatically displayed. Other phones I've used return you to the home screen when disconnecting a phone call. Why would I need to view the call log after hanging up (I know who I just talked to so why would I need to see it...). I know it's easy to press the button to close the log but this is just one of those little quirks I find annoying.
Is there a setting I'm missing to return to the home screen when a call is finished?
Thanks for any help.

I dunno... I kinda like it staying in the phone app. And it kind of makes sense if you're disconnected and need to call back (or need to make another call and get back to that person).
I have no idea why anyone ever thought that was a good idea, but there's an app to fix that. I've used it on all my Android phones, and it works well.

Click to collapse
Just for info: Some Custom ROMs have a setting in the dialer app to exit after the call instead of going to the call log. I don't know why anyone would want that either...
Thanks to all for the replies. I ended up creating a Tasker profile to take it back to the home screen upon ending a phone call. (works great).
Probably in case of dropped calls? I can see that being the reason.
