It'd be stupid if he is really meaning that one.
he could also be a first time rooter and be at the recovery screen.

Just love smart people, that become members "yesterday".
It is HW fault, but is it LCD or graphic processor?

black screen green lines
resonse to igord:
my N1 experienced this yesterday. It will power on and off but the screen has only horizontal green lines. The previous day I experienced a garbled voice on outgoing calls. Until 2 days ago it had worked flawlessly.
Google/HTC support said it may be software issue. I've requested a "swap" for a replacement phone. This "swap" option requires giving them a credit card number for them to charge for a new phone. Once I receive the new phone and return the malfunctioning phone they will credit the cc for the amount charged.

Hi, does anyone else has a big C like a water mark on your phones?
The app is wifi Analyzer.
that looks like a burned in
try running a pure white screen
then a pure black screen
see if you can still spot that C
That is a burn in. No doubts, you should run some app that does what Allgamer said, and if possible even with RGB colors as well.
That looks suspiciously like the shape of the coloured print on the protective sheet that a brand new galaxy s was shipped with.
Yeap it's the marked burn of the C from the protective cover... Gonna bring it back...

can you post some screenshot?
Could it be that the phones have been in the sun with the protective film on?
I remember AMOLED screens being sensitive to light, that light being th ereason for wear. but external sunlight MIGHT also have that effect. When it is the sun with that cover for a few weeks...
possible?

I don't why, but this is NOT screenburning.
I have seen two types screen watermark C and L. These screens are little blueish.
Maybe screen type sign, you are not alone.

seems that you've got yourself a showmodel, it's the excact location(just checked with one that's still in the box) of the foil with the huge C in the middle, they prolly kept him several weeks in the light/sun?

Agreed.
I see three options:
1. Leave your phone in the sun for an extended period of time so that it hopefully evens out the mark. Problem is you would purposely be wearing down the phone so the mark isn't as visible.
2. Use your phone normally and over time it should go away.
3. Return your phone and get a non-defective one. If they give you a hard time (and you aren't past the 14days/30minutes) just say you'll return it and get a new one if they don't give you what you want (reps. can be pricks sometimes).

i have the same problem
Hi, I am on my second Epic and I have a distinct black line of the right side of my screen....it seems as though it is a line of stuck pixels and it is quite annoying. I am considering bringing it back to radioshack. I would post pics but idk if they would turn out...its really bugging me...the line wasnt there last night either.
Apparently Radioshack are being total dicks, they were nice before about it and they arent willing to let me trade my Epic back in.
Nobody? Well Radioshack basically said I was lying and that I had dropped it and or put pressure on it...
I have a 1 pixel wide green line going down the right side of my Epic. It's only SLIGHTLY noticeable against a white screen like in the browser. In other screens I'm sure it's not there at all. Those few pixels just have a problem showing white I guess.

Got my SGSII yesterday only to realize that there is a circle on the downleft of screen. It's very annoying. Went to Telenor today but they had no phones left. Only thing to do now is wait 4 weeks for a new one.
Any idé on what this is? Have you checked your own ones?

More people have this. I don't know if it went away with anyone? Some say it should go away and the production process causing it.
I see you also have the 1/3 yellowish/darker screen. I am wondering if there is someone who doesn't have this.
Sorry didn't want you to focuss on it, guess you didn't saw yet. but a lot have this(if not everybody).

all you can do is send it back and get another one... and hope that there isnt something wrong with that.

Didn't do anything. Opened it, charged it and booted it. Tested it out and rolled down statusbar, noticed directly and all my happyness for my new phone dissappeared.
I guess its the kind of person who owns the phone..
I myself am almost a perfectionist.. well.. atleast when i buy new things.. why would i want a new product with some minor/ major problems on it?
hardware problems.. not software.. since software can be fixed.
I had the circle on mine, top right of the screen. Made a thread about it last week: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1078058
Noticed it shortly after taking delivery of the box when I was viewing some photos. It's not visible on pixels where full brightness is used (no matter if it's R, G, or B), but on anything between black and full white it's visible. Sent mine back yesterday for replacement, but I was told by an Expansys-USA rep that they won't have any in stock till the 30th.
Supposedly it's from the suction cup used on the assembly line and that it's technically supposed to go away over time. Expansys only gives a small window of time for returns, and my circle wasn't showing signs of disappearing. Might wanna have yours swapped out, too.
Thanks, was looking for someone else having this problem.
I live in Sweden and ordered from operator Telenor.
They only have a 7 day DOA, so I called them and because all phones were out both in physical store and on the web, they was going to send me a servicebox that I will pack everything and then send it. Hopefully I will get a new one in a few weeks. They say that it can take up to a month though.
Hey there,
I got the exact same thing, but on the right side of the display. I got this thing just yesterday, I live in Germany.
I really do not want to send it back, especially since it seems display problems are pretty common with this phone and there is no guarantee I'll get another one without it.
Anyone knows if this might go away? I have 4 weeks until I have to send it back.
No idea if it will go away, but if you've got 4 weeks, maybe you can see if it does fade over time? I had a really short period of time to report any problems with the phone to Expansys (48 hours), so I couldn't wait.
Man... 4 weeks..! That seems like such a luxurious amount of time to check for problems with the phone.
I can't see anything like this on my phone...
How can I see/make it:-??
I have had my phone for a couple of days and noticed a green line at the bottom of my screen. When I rotate the phone the line rotates as well. Not sure if that is dead pixels because it rotates with the screen. Any ideas?

Looks like a battery bar, it's obviously not a pixel ish if it shows up in a screen shot
It does look like a battery bar. I'm betting it's in one of the apps you have downloaded.

But you did get it early despite this flaw you found on your device.
You got to hold and experience this beast before millions of others did. That's something you'll always be able to say. So just wait it out for your replacement and try not to get too upset over it. You've already learned first hand what this phone is capable of.

Yes I did but not upset. Tmo rep said I had a 20 day remorse period. I have a gs6 the gs6 is brighter on low levels. This gs7e is going to be a beast once rooted with custom roms. My only concern is the gear vr and Netflix that I registered for.

Wow. It looks like maybe loose connection from screen to system board. Or the device got wet? Try tweaking(twisting) the frame a little to see if it changes at all(better/worse). If it does then probably loose connection.

Doesn't seem like a hw problem.
Try this:
1- Run a benchmark in loop for 30 minutes to make the device hot. Something like Antutu. This would provoque any underlying heat problem.
2- Set screen off to 30 minutes and leave it idle on to see if screen changes while doing nothing.
3- factory reset the device after backup your data.
My oppinion is it a hardware issue. You can handle it like a software issue and try to fix it but if you don't have time or don't want to experiencing it would be better to bring it back where you bought it.

ok, its come to light now. My five year old has confessed he knocked it off of a table. Makes sense now, however the table is just over half a metre high.It would have falllen onto a wooden floor. Warranty seems unlikely.
I must say though i'm surprised it has caused this damage. My wife's Moto G was thrown by my five year old onto tarmac and the Moto G is absolute fine. I'd like to buy the Honor 8 again as I really like it, though I feel I would be stupid to buy another if they are a delicate as this. Be warned.... Don't have kids!

Than you are lucky that you have a Honor phone (if you are within the 3 month).
The Huawei/Honor offers 3 month screen warranty (but only one time) for accidents as well. Link: http://consumer.huawei.com/minisite/uk/vipservice/index.html
Yes call them quickly so you can send it back for repair/replacement. And get a good case!
