Didn't know where else to put this.
I can't get togglestart to stay open.
It will work fine when i open it, then i will put the phone into standby, open turn it back on, unlock it, and the taskbar will be back, and covering part of my screen.
Is there any way to make this work?
I'm doing this on my mogul, otherwise i would have posted this somewhere else.

is there an exe taht turns the screen on and off? and couldn't i just bind that to my camera button?
i did search..
thanks
You may be able to turn the screen off programatically, but how exactly would you expect to turn it on?
Of course, binding that to a button that actually works could do the trick. I think there a few freeware programs out there that allow you to change the bindings of the buttons (sry, can't remember a name, but if you google it you should be able to find one in no time).
On the other hand, phone off disables all buttons except the on/off button, so that might not work either.
i'm downloading vito button mapper now.
getting the screen to come back on was also my main concern. the only way i get it to come on now is by plugging it into the computer or resetting it. I don't always have a usb cable and a computer on hand, nor do i want to wait 5 min for my touch to restart to make a simple phone call.
any help would be GREATLY appreciated.. leaving for a trip in like an hour so i'd like to get this done..
ARGH! Any way to disable the Start Menu's "Lock" button or make it not appear?
I had an interesting problem that basically results in all data loss if it happens. On a particular Blue Angel I was working on, the touch screen somehow lost its calibration. In attempting to get to the calibration menu, the wonky screen somehow hit "Lock" on the bottom left corner of the Start Menu, and the device locked. Since the touchscreen became uncalibrated there was NO WAY for me to touch the tiny area and slide it properly. Thus I could not unlock the device even though LOCK is something that I NEVER EVER USE. I had to hard reset and lost all data. In WM2003, this would never have been a problem! I imagine if someone does use device lock, a screen decalibration incident would result in all data loss too which is unacceptable!
I tried the classic style lock screen which requires less precision but it still involves the need to touch a specific screen area in order to unlock it.
Is there any way to get rid of the Lock option in the Start Menu competely? A registry key perhaps? I want NOTHING to do with the device lock feature, it just seems to cause more problems and data loss than anything else. Any suggestions?
I believe that I have seen a post or two regarding the soft keys for the Start Menu. I'll see if I can find them.
On a side note, please refrain from opening new threads with questions. There is a Q&A thread at the top of this section for this kind of inquiries. I will transfer your question over there. Thanks.
anybody figure this out? i really would like to know
Lock sucks. If you have the phone locked, and get an incoming call - it doesn't unlock automatically, and there is no way to unlock it on the 'answer phone' screen.
So - you cannot get an incoming call if you use lock.
i dont even use it. i use pocketshield but i dont want the lock button to turn on PS, i want it either gone or to have it set up as a "back" button.
Has anybody managed to get rid of that damn button ? I have been looking around the forum for ages and still can't find a way to get rid of it.
So I have a couple problems...
1) The Lock Screen keeps going away...it actually does the whole unlock button at the bottom of the screen and not the full lock screen. Sometimes when I hard reset it, it will come back though...Any ideas?
2) When I push the call button the call log comes up on top, but the keypad on bottom is missing...And once again sometimes when I hard reset it will come back...I am running Dutty's 0.8 rom, but haven't seen anybody mention this as a problem on the rom...
Any ideas?
Is that rom landscape enabled? (i've not tried that one) If it is, Try this next time it happens. Close dial pad, switch to landscape, (and back if you want) then open it again. Works?
No, no landscape enabled...

Click to collapse
and to get the lock screen back again, try holding down the off button, then selecting lock
usually works for me
Nope doesn't work either, still just makes the "unlock" button come on at the bottom of the home screen...
Nobody else has these problems? Maybe I should just reflash and see what happens...
My on/off button is broken.. There is a part like 2 mm broken off it and i cant find it back.. i know i coulr epair it if i get it back.. Well.. my idea is to use the stylus to get it out of sleep. to get it on i use a teaspoon to connect the contacts. Im thinking to use some software to get it on the fone to get it on the screen lock again.. So im searching for some software which turns screenlock on. and turns my phone into sleep (like screen of etc)
Anyone has any idea how to get this?
Ok, I get that the screen is supposed to blank out when the receiver is held to ear. However, when I pull the receiver away, it is still blacked out. Should'nt the keypad turn on again? IE need to punch keypad buttons for voicemail etc. Is there some setting I'm missing here.
I'm running the latest TMOUS Energy Rom. Also have BsB tweaks installed as well. I looked over those settings again, can't seem to find anything affecting the screen blank out.
Also, the other problem I have. Using visual voicemail, when hold the phone to hear the message, my ear will cause the delete message screen to pop up.
Sometimes, also when talking on the phone, Ill get the screen you would get when pressing the windows start button. Very frustrating.
So, is there a setting I need, that turns my screen back on when I pull the phone away from my ear. Is there a way to lock the screen from any actions, when using visual voicemail, or talking on the phone?
I did a search of the forums. I couldn't locate anything related to my issues.
Any help appreciated.
Best,
David
try to press a hardware button to get the screen back on again.
I don't use voicemail so not sure how to solve it.
Hello Dr. I do punch the hardware button. I do get the screen back...however, when I do that; the screen wont blank out again, hence I end up opening other menus or programs.
Thanks for your input. After over 80 views, and 1 response; I don't hold too much optimism a solution will be available...but I'll keep checking, in case I do get lucky.
Its linked to the proximity sensor, you might try posting in the TMOUS Energy Rom thread as someone there may have a resolution for you
Proximity sensor always works back on my phone, but I have stock..
if you really need a custom ROM, try Dutty's for a change, it's really close to stock so it might do the trick for you.
