Enhanced volume control

I am one of those people who listen to music mostly for background noise while I work. This means the music has to be quite low. I use ear buds to muffle out the outside noises. However this means that the lowest volume setting becomes too high. For me, most mp3 players suffered from this problem. Until I started using Rockbox firmware on my Sansa mp3 mplayer that offered 84 levels of volume control.
The Samsung Epic in comparison only offers 16 levels of volume adjustment. Is there a way to improve this volume level control? I briefly search Android Market but did not see anything relevant. May have overlooked.
I hate to be a douche, but i dont think more volume steps is all that necessary.
I use these "Sony Earbuds", they have there own inline volume controller so i can achieve practically as many steps as i can imagine (analogue adjuster)
It totally needs more volume steps. Is it specific to this phone, or does it happen on all Android phones? I've never used another Android phone, so I wouldn't know.

Shift Volume In General - In Call, etc

So does anyone else notice their max volume in general is very weak? If I'm in a call and have the speaker on, it's just subpar. No where near what my Hero was capable of. Specially with my Hero, I paid for an app called "Loud Volume Hack" and it made my phone twice as loud and capable.
Of course that app doesn't work on the shift, so we're stuck with low volume.
Anyone know of or hear of some workarounds?

a program called volume ace is your friend
That app doesnt do anything after I installed it. All it is, is another way to adjust your volume controls through a different interface. IT doesn't maximize your volumes beyond what the OS allows you too like "Loud Volume Hack"

Speaker volume

How do I raise the speaker volume? Is there an app? A hack? Etc.... Ringing volume is too low.
There is an app called dsp manager available on xda (or through cm7) and an equalizer app available free on the market that can do the same thing that allows you to raise the volume just a bit by adjusting everything up. Results may vary.

[Q] Any app to increase the volume?

Well, sometimes there are some podcasts whose volume is quite low and quite dificult listen to them. One solution would be to increase the volume by pc, but I'm triyin to find an easier solution through the mobile.
I saw some aplications like volume booster, but any of them worked in our U8800. That is why I want to ask you if any of you know how to fix it.
THX!
Volume + should be working. Ret4rt includes it in hes rom.

Volume+ tested and doesn't work the volume increase (I use the rooted 2.3 stock Rom)
About DSP Manager it just let control de volume, but doesn't increase it, does it?
earphone sound volume is increased a bit can't say about speaker volume.

Volume boost?

Does anyone know of an app or mod for the XT1575 to increase volume? I find my call volume rather low at max settings. On my G3, there was an app called volume booster for G3 thay allowed me to edit the values of aux, earpiece, speaker, and Bluetooth. Raising them higher drove more power to the output. Is there another app for the Moto X Pure like that?
Can I edit those same values through Root Explorer?
The xml for this phone looks different than others. If I knew which one was the earpiece I might be able to increase volume that way, but it isn't very clear. I uploaded it if anyone cares to take a look for me and identify where the earpiece settings are.
