Hi!
I have enabled samsung message app to show mail messages, but now still, when I tap mail icon on samsung notify widget or in samsung today plugin, original pocket outlook starts, not samsung message app.
How to change that?
i would like the answer to this question also
You could read how here Omnia 2: Tweaks, Flash Guide, Suggested Programs, FAQ (Enable Samsung skinned Email application), but it may not be working for every ROM

On my 8525 I have installed flexmail 2007 which seems to be WAY better than the built in Outlook. I have enabled it as my default mail program. However, when I receive new mail and I click "1 unread message" on the today screen it opens Outlook. If I click on the mail notification window that pops up I also go to Outlook.
How can I force the 8525 to use FlexMail as the default mail client?
I haven't FlexMail installed any longer but if I remember right you can set it in the FLEXMAIL properties to force it as default messaging application.
Normally it asks during installation if you want to use it as default or not.
If you have a question regarding the 8525 which is a Hermes you should have posted your question to that forum.
Maybe if a MOD see's this they can move it over there for you.
My appologies. I thought the pic on the side looked like mine but I see the right category now. Please just delete this thread and I'll post new down there.
Thanks.
Hi guys,
Through the wonderful creations of a couple of guys here on the forum, I've installed the Deimos Scum Mod theme for the homescreen++ as shown here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=350510&page=5&post=#49
However, everytime I click on the email button, it keeps on going to my outlook main page whenever email shows 0. If there's unread email, it will always go to my messaging main page. But it will always read the correct number of total unread email.
I don't and will never use outlook. I use push gmail through Seven (www.seven.com). Gmail is my primary email account.
How do I change or alter the xml file so that everytime I click the email button (whether there is or isn't any email), so that it will always go straight to my gmail inbox?
This is a perfect theme, except for this little glitch. I tried all the help from the forum archive but it doesn't seem to work.
Hi Guys,
I have a problem on receiving notification when receiving emails in my exchange mailbox but filtered to subfolders of main INBOX.
It's very important for me as I'm missing e-mails without notification and I need to check each subfolder manually for new mails, which is unacceptable.
I contacted HTC couple of days ago and they were not aware of this problem. *shocked*
Is there are any workaround on this, I'll be forced to flash a vanilla rom and put spbshell if this is not resolved in near feature.
Or change the phone, which will be the easiest.
You mean you have set it up and it is alreadyn syncing to subfolders correctly, and what you need is the mail notification?
I thought this was how Windows Mobile has always worked?! - which is why HTC is not aware of the 'problem'.
Certainly, WM 6.1 Pro did not alert for new messages in sub-folders (even though they were sync'd and downloaded).
I found a solution:
in outlook 2007 go to Tools --> Rules and Alerts. edit the rule for the subfolder you want notifications for. Activate "display a specific message in the New Item Alert window. The message doesnt matter. Now your HTC HD2 with sense UI will notify when you receive a message in a subfolder.
A small negative side effect is the pop-up in your outlook

And just in case someone is using the Outlookanywhere web app to read his e-mails (so I synchronise the phone by an Internet connection, and not with the computer)?
hi, I am curious if anyone can help me with this. I have multiple email account setup with my tilt 2. I am curiuos if there's anyway I can assign different notification sound to each email account when new message arrives? Also, I am curious with either stock rom or cookie 2.0, can I have different notification icon shows on my home screen for different email account instead of just 1?
I am not sure if this makes sense but now I see that when I get email, the icon will display all of the emails from 3 account instead of like 1 from yahoo, 3 from gmail, etc? Is there anyway I can show different accoutn with different icon (I have used spb mobile shell and it let me do this) but I am curious if stock rom or cookie does the same thing.
thanks.
Guess you could call this a double question
First the issue I am having with the default Email App on the leaked kitkat rom
When I read one of my emails on my Desktop they don't get marked as read on the default email application. The K-9 Email application does not have this issue but if I could solve this via the default I won't have to use K-9
Second question is there a way to replace the default Email Client with K-9 so I don't get double email notifications on my notification tray? Aka I basically want to disable the default if I am unable to fix the issue I am having with it.

Sounds like a sync timing issue, if you go to your email settings you should be able to set the sync options, the push setting will be the one you want for immediate sync.
Turning off notifications in the email settings should fix the second issue you have, of course you could also uninstall the email app, but I'm not sure if K9 requires exchange services so you might choose to leave that part.
I already have set to push and the emails come in as soon as they do on my Desktop they just don't get marked as read if I read them on another device like the Desktop. K-9 mail has no such issue. I have just went ahead and deleted my email accdount from the samsung email app and am just using k-9 with the dark theme for now.
