Hi only had hd2 a couple of days, great phone once i upgraded rom 1.66 , noticed one problem i seem to be getting phantom e-mails, my mail message will sound so i wake phone up ,on task bar there is e-mail symbol but on the slide unlock there is no indication of email as in a number, when i open up emails there are no new e-mails. just thinking is it sounding because i have emails that i havent opened yet and it is remembering me i have unopened mails.
you are not alone. I have seen this at least 3 times myself.
good i'm not imagining then.
seems to have stopped after I read all my mail.

Or actually, not completely randomly, as it happens ever time with certain SMS senders. The weather, for one, always triggers MMS. I never see the message in the SMS inbox, only MMS. I don't believe there is anything but text in the weather messages. They used to come in normally when I first got the XDA II (a week ago), and this problem just started yesterday.
Ideas?
Hello All.
Having a bit of a problem at the moment.
When I receive a new voice mail, all I get is a text message with [email protected] in my inbox. If I leave the message in my inbox, the next time I get a message I don't even get notified.
I flash my phone all the time, and at the minute I am trialing PDAViet's 3.62
Though I have had this since the first time I flashed the rom, many moons ago..
Any ideas?
Cheers
Basically, I have all text messages from my girlfriend and friends since Oct. They are threaded and everything was fine until last week. My girlfriend's texts seem to have "disappeared" and the threading seems to have started from scratch. Only the recent msgs from last week appear in there.
I know the messages are still in the phone because if I turn off threading, I can see all past messages to/from my gf.
Does anyone know what's the deal with this?
Did I hit a limit or something with the number of messages in the threading?
Hi all,
Am a bit annoyed with the notifications on Mail on my phone. I have it up to notify Mon-Fri 08.30 - 21.30 but when it wants to, it notifies me at, say 2.30 in the morning, then other times it doesnt, has anyone else noticed that it is very erratic?
What alternatives do we have, app-wise, that I can use instead of Mail (whic I like apart from the above problem) that I can set a timetable and days to check for mail (POP3).
Also, is there a way to change he notification for new mail (and new SMS for that case).
Thanks.
So here's my problem - when I read an e-mail from gmail on my computer, I get a notification from gmail on the phone that I have a new email. I guess when the new mail number goes down, it sends a notification, even though I haven't actually gotten a new email. For instance, if I have 10 unread emails in gmail, and read one of them on a computer, my phone will emit one notification, when the unread count goes from 10 to 9. It's starting to drive me nuts, but I can't find how to fix it.
Anyone else experience this? How can I fix it so that my phone gmail only gives a notification when a new email actually arrives? Not every time the unread count changes?
No responses...? I'm assuming either I wasn't clear or no one else is experiencing this...or that this is the norm and I'm bat****. Either way, I'd appreciate someone with some info to tell me which of these is the reality, cuz if there IS something I can do about it, I would really like to know. Or, if there's nothing I can do about it, to just make myself get over it lol.
Again, briefly: When I read a gmail email on my computer, I get a notification on my phone showing that the unread messages have gone down by one. Is there a setting so that I only get notifications when a NEW EMAIL actually arrives?
I swear I've been playing all around with gmail and can't figure this out.
Im having a problem with it telling me I have 10 emails in the application on phone, but I have to sync a dozen times for it to show me a few of them.
