I have the box ticked to save sent messgaes to sent folder but it's not doing it, am i missing something?
Also, is there a key somewhere about what the icons mean. Some envelopes have a turned corner at the bottom
You use gmail over activesync, right?
By default the sent items folder is not synchronised, you need to go to menu->tools->manage folders and place a tick next to the sent items folder.
kilrah,
Thank you very much for this info. I spent all day trying to figure out why my sent messages were not loggin in the phone.
They shall call you Master.

Does anybody know a way / hack to get even the SENT MAIL folder synchronized in my PDA with OUTLOOK? Since it is possible to synchronize additional folders (except SENT ) there might be a way I haven't found yet!
It is nice that I can synchronize my INBOX but finally it is only the half of the email! Would be nice to have my OUTBOX in the PDA up-to-date as well to know on the go what I wrote back!
A bit of a workaround, but, why not create a new folder in Outlook, and have sent items automatically moved to this folder, which can then by synced with your device?
(Not sure how easy it is to automatically redirect sent items, though, but this approach would remove the need to hack ActiveSync at all)
Yeah, I thought of that too.
2 reasons why I did not really go on with that:
1. The PDA screen is relative small and by having only a few email accounts set up on that device, adding additional folders makes it very 'unhandy'.
2. It would require me each time to copy my sent mails in to the new folder in order to get synchronized with the PDA, which takes again several more steps each time I write an email.
I just wonder why MS did not allow users to synchronize the SENT folder too?

You should be able to do this with a rule, as I understand it. Far from ideal, though.
You Can

That is correct you can syncronize your sent Items Folder as I do there is an option in Messaging Options that you can select which folders you want to be syncronized. For my Corporate mail my Sent Items are syncronized.
Hi,
How can I delete an Google Mail email from the "Trash" label? I can put them in "Trash" using a long press however there is no option to delete when doing a long press on the mail once in "Trash".
The only way I can delete this is to log onto googlemail web interface and delete the mail from the "Bin" (I'm a UK user).
Cheers.
Anybody???

From the webpage go to your settings and then to "LAB"... try using this "Advanced IMAP Controls".

Thanks for the reply but no joy
Still, on the G1 I can long press in most labels and press delete which sends to Trash however long pressing on an item in the trash does not give any option to delete.
This behaviour is the same with and without that LAB package enabled.
Is there any other solution?
Cheers.
Anybody know if this is possible? It's a real pain having to delete emails from the Trash via the web interface, which is what I'm doing at the moment.
I'm considering that it might be as my GoogleMail account is a UK one and hence the folder is named "Bin" on the web interface. Is this confusion of names what is causing the G1 to not give me the option to delete emails from "Trash"? (Doubt this though, as it *does* put items into "Trash" when I delete on the phone and these can be seen in the "Bin" folder on the web interface).
Has anybody successfully deleted a GoogleMail email from the Trash/Bin using GMail app? If so, how?
Thanks.
Doesn't give me the option to delete things in the trash either.
I guess the only way to do it is from the web interface.
I'm pretty sure it cannot be done through the phone UI.
What is your goal?
I've been using gmail for a number of years now and I've never had a need to manually delete anything from the trash...

Minor OCD I think - When I delete something I want it *gone*... Not a biggie I guess.
Can someone tell me why on WM6 Windows Live it doesn't show any items in the junk mail (and sent mail folders) when there is clearly some present when checking the Live account on a PC.
Is this normal & is there a fix? Would be useful to have.
Thanks

Hi to all,
just a question...
I would like to see the favourites of Internet Explorer as the HD1 (with folders closed and unexpanded). Is there a way?
Thanks
Simone
Sync it via Active Sync or Mobile center

I don't want synchronize the favourites of hd2 with that of my pc because they are different...as you can see in the picture, the folder 01.router is expanded with all the items...and below there is Aggiornamenti with his items...and so on..in this case consultation is not immediate...
I wish there was a list of all folders..and after a click on one of them all the items of that folder appears..
Sorry for my english...
Sorry, i forgot the image....

You can put your favourites in folders by opening the favourites list (in IE) and clickinf Menu, and Edit. Add folders in there (see "Add Folder" at the top of the list.) When you have created your folders, edit your favourites, one-by-one, putting them into the folders you wish.
There is no view where the folders are closed. It is for alphabetical categorisation of favourites. Folders are listed alphabetically, with their contents listed alphabetically. The list simply does not work how you suggest.
Hope this helps

It does actually look exactly like your pic, but the folders are always open. It would be nicer if they could close. Ah well!

When you move the email to another folder, it does not create a copy of that email - it MOVES it, therefore there is still only one copy.
If you then delete this copy, it will be gone to the trash.
Answer: Do not delete an email if its the only copy!
ok cool that will work txs

I think I understand a bit more what's going on...
GMAIL doesn't have "folders" like we're used to in Outlook and Hotmail, instead it has "stars" and "tags".
When you "move to a folder" you actually just assign it a tag, the email stays in your main folder. You can't really make copies to other folders.
Think its wired to have list on left to do nothing with then .....wth. wish they could save emails ....
