Please help me - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM Development

Dear All,
I decided to add the miri custom ROM. I'm on official 1.66 rom WWE with radio 2.06. I read in this forum that I have to downgrade to 1.48 in order ro be able to SPL. I downloaded the 1.48 from the thread of Leo official roms in this forum. The process stopped at 1% telling me "Invalid vendor". then I restarted my device but the GSM network is not working.
Please help how could I go back to 1.48 to SPL my device.
i want to hard spl but my spl is 1.66.0000
how to hard spl ??

You need the ROM that originally came with your HD2, flash it using the SD card method and then you can put HSPL on the device

That will only help if the original spl on the stock rom is 1.42.0000, which with a 1.66 based rom I'm guessing not. HSPL currently only works if the spl is 1.42.0000 and in cases where it isn't you need to either upgade or downgrade to 1.42 first.

i can not flash by memory card but i have error vender id
in goldcard i have problem too, this is vender id error
is any hspl for spl 1.66.0000 ? ?
Edit !!
i can update my rom to energy by sspl but it still in HTC bootscreen
i need hard spl
please help

helppppppppp

Who is your provider? you need the 1.48 ROM from your provider to flash back to SPL 1.42 via SD card. If your phone isn't vendor locked (although it sounds like it is) then you can get the 1.48 ROM for your region from HTC direct
Might be a lesson to be learned here to read everything fully before attempting anything

i have 1.48 rom and test SD card method but i have vender id error

Try another one of these 1.48 roms to see if perhaps any one of them work
http://www.4shared.com/dir/22189940/b8552fa0/Shipped_Leo_ROMs.html
As has been stated by EddyOS you can't always just flash to any stock 1.48 rom, you need to try to get a 1.48 based rom for your operator and that is why you are getting the invalid vendor problem. I luckily did not have a problem and I see some other users are saying that the Goldcard method also no longer works. I can't comment on that, but you may want to try that option out.

a question
for ugprade to 1.66 i need goldcard ?
because gold card is worked by active sync but my device in still in htc boot screen

You need to get a 1.48 ROM for your region/vendor and flash using the sd card method, nothing else will get you back to SPL 1.42 so don't bother trying.
If you don't understand then you shouldn't have flashed in the first place

ok. i tested 1.48 and 1.61 rom by sd method but see Not Allowed error.
i will download 1.66 and test it
thanks a lot

Are you getting the 1.48 ROM that is from your region/vendor?

seems you are just flashing any old rom. You need to find one that is specific to your provider (voafone, o2, tmobile, whatever) otherwise you will continue to get invalid vendor.

i live in iran
i dont know my vendor
i upgrade another leo by this 1.61 rom but this device ...

You must use a vodafone stock ROM then - the 1.66 HTC ROM flashes the stock SPL
which does not fit your CID, therefore you get the triangle.
thx for replying.
I had stock rom 1.48 before and then i installed HSPL so that i can install Stock 1.66 wwe rom into my hd2. It was a successful action. Rom installed and worked correctly without any problem.
But problem arise when I tried to uninstall the HSPL to original spl. I renamed the 1.66 rom .nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh and converted the card format into fat32 also.
when i inserted the card into hd2 and turned it on whilst pressing down volume button. its started into boot loader program and den asked me to press power button to start the process.
And then it ended with an error.. 00028002 NOT ALLOW something like that. which is for Invalid vendor ID..
Please help..
how to return to original spl with the latest 1.66 wwe rom.
thx in advance..

Actually, you did everything correctly... except that you should use the stock ROM for your device, which is vodafone branded, isn´t it?
BTW, did you check the SPL version already? Because it might be already back to stock SPL, but then, you won´t be able to flash an original HTC ROM.
Being back at stock SPL (with vodafone CID) and trying to flash/launch an official HTC ROM on the branded device results in what you write!
Hmm.. is there any harm if i don't remove HSPL??? as m still trying to make my HD2 working..
error coming is 00028002 NOT ALLOW

Get the original 1.43 vodafone UK ROM from here, and repeat what you did.
Follow the first link, select 1.43, then obviously the vodafone ROM.
EDIT PS:
In case you want to keep the stock SPL, but upgrade to the 1.66 HTC ROM, you must do this using SSPL (search for this here in the forum).
As of today, there is no other way of getting the stock SPL back than flashing your original ROM.
BIG thank you .. it is working now with the stock 1.43 rom.. and yes u are right.. it was showing me again 1.42 spl after uninstalling the HSPL.
u saved my hd2.. thx once again for ur great help..

Hi
Thanks for the link, however the 1.43 ROM is corrupt, I have tried downloading several times. I try to extra the RUU_Signed.nbh with winrar but it fails, the 1.66 and 1.72 Vodafone ROMs extract fine.
Basically I am trying to restore a Vodafone HD2 to stock ROM+SPL, reason being the phone they sent on an insurance replacement is rubbish e.g. the touchscreen isn't responsive. I tried changing to a custom ROM also Vodafone 1.66 and 1.72 to see if the problem would be fixed but it didn't help.
Now I just need to send the phone back for another replacement.
Does anyone have an alternative link for this 1.43 ROM?
I am having a similar issue.
I am trying remove HSPL, I have copied the .nbh file over to the SD already formatted as FAT 32 - I'm using my original ROM.
(RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.48.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Shp )
Also tried with ( RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.43.405.1_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50_22_2_Ship )
When I start with volume down pressed, I get a message saying " Upgrade ROM code error please try again " then the multi coloured screen with SPL-1.42.0000 XE.
Please help, I fear I have broken my phone ...

HSPL is already removed, which is why the WWE roms don't work. You need to find your provider released rom, or (far easier) run hspl2, choose 1.42.hspl, flash either of teh roms you mentioned above by USB, run hspl2 again, choose 1.42.0000 and done.

Thanks for the reply.
I can't use HSPL2 as the phone doesn't sink to my PC as it's stuck on the tri colour screen. Unless there is a way of doing this from the memory card.
I'm pretty sure my stock ROM was 1.43, which I have downloaded but can't re flash?.
I guess I need to download a 1.42 O2 ROM from somewhere?

No need to sync to pc. In bootloader, connect usb cable - when USB shows on the screen then run HSPL2

OK this is using the 1.48 ROM
Used HSPL2 and hacked to 1.42.hspl, pressed power to start update image, and the ROM loaded but then goes back to the tri colour screen again. So I ran flashed through USB 1.48 ROM and got " Invalid Vendor ID " ?
I tried HSPL2 again to hack to 1.42.0000 and then re-flash through USB and got " invalid vendor ID again "
I even tried with HSPL I had before and the same result.
Argghhhhhh
What can I be doing wrong here ?
Working now
I downloaded the latest O2 ROM 1.72.0 etc and it's working now.
Thanks again guys, you helped me a lot
Once more thing my phone now say's it has SPL-1.66 - I guess when unlocking using HSPL2, I now need to choose 1.66.000?

1. download stock ROM
2. unpack/unzip and place ruu_signed.nbh and ROMUpdateUtility in sd card
3. make sure you have >50% battery life
4. with the device turned off, put sd card in
5. enter boot loader, device will automatically detect ROM file in sd card and
then will install this, it will install stock spl as well so hspl will be removed

sounds like you tried to flash over sd card, which as any fule kno first thing it does is resets the spl, so hspl is no longer installed so the rest of the flash fails.

1 - boot the phone to bootloader. (Three coloured screen)
2 - run hspl2, choose whatever spl you like SO LONG AS it ends HSPL.
3 - when the phone reboots, keep volume down pressed to re enter bootloader
4 - run your rom flash over USB
5 - phone should now boot normally.
6 - if you now want to remove hspl again, re run HSPL2 and choose the spl you want, ENDING IN .0000
samsamuel
Yes Doh - I was flashing from SD and then trying to flash through USB. It all makes sense now. I got around it though by using the new O2 ROM that's just been released so I didn't need to unlock to bring my phone back to life.
Anyway it's all working fine now with the stock 1.72 O2 ROM, just flashed with HSPL2 and re-installed the Energy ROM.
Thanks again for all the help.
ahh good.
Its a good idea if you flash fairly regularly to do your flashing from bootloader, that way you are visually aware of your spl at every step. just get used to holding vol down as it reboots and you can do the whole thing, hspl, rom, radio, without ever having to pull the battery. just keep booting to tri colour till its done.

Problems with HardSPL

So i wanted to go back to the regular ROM for a while but i went to the updated one that just came out yesterday. Then after this loaded, i remember why i switched to ChuckyROM. So i tried to flash the HardSPL to it again but it had a popup that said BAD SPL!
So are there any fixes or advice for this problem?
I'm a complete noob.
So you just flash 2.13 Official T-Mobile rom using sdcard? if it is true than you cant HSPL your device since you are not on SPL 2.08 any more. Your HSPL is overwritten when flashing using memory card.
Maybe you can flash back to 2.10 rom using memory card method to get 2.08 SPL then HSPL you device from there.
I might be wrong so anyone please correct me.
Yeah I couldn't find anything in search so I read around and that's what I got. If this doesn't work then eff me. ):
Post HardSPL questions in the already open HARDSPL thread dude!
And you'll want to flash the 2.10 rom from you're sd card to give you spl 2.08, Then you will be able to HARDSPL you're phone and flash custom rom's of you're choice..

{SOLVED}!!HELP ME DOWNGRADE MY 1.66.0000 voda UK SPL

PLease can some point me in the direction of a ROM I can use to downgrade
my SQL. I have tried versions 1.43 ships and NBH but no luck. INstructions woudl also be nice incase I am doing something wrong.
Please dont tell me to to read the "sticky's" as where this is mentioned there are no instructions for fixing it.
note: i tried flashing Official RUU_Leo_TMO_UK_1.43.110.2_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50.22_2_Ship ROM but it said not allowed. I tried extracting and flashing from my Sd card and by booting to spl and running it from there, same there aswell - what I am doing wrong?
If you have vodafone device, i think you must (without HSPL) use vodafone ROM, not TMO, isnt it?
this was a replacement device, the other was fine, just had a scratched screen. It wont take hardpl or hardpl2 - i just get "not allow" or "critcal error"
So you have a Vodafone UK branded Device??? Check it if it is branded!!!
First try to flash an official Vodafone UK ROM from SD, by renaming and copying the nbh file to the SD root.
I think there are 3 versions available:
- 1.43 (probably downgrades SLP to 1.42.0000)
- 1.66 (probably SPL 1.66.0000)
- 1.72 (probably SPL 1.66.0000)
You can find them here:
http://www.4shared.com/dir/22189940/b8552fa0/Shipped_Leo_ROMs.html
Then you could try HSLP2 or maybe even SSPL.
edit: you could also check your serial at the official HTC download section.
i get "not allow" when I try flash a voda 1.43 rom, I can flash fine with the correct 1.66 ROMS but I want to downgrade as Hardspl2 wont work, i get a critical usb error - usb connection is fine as I can flash shipped ROMS fine.
The ROM I am currently on is branded yes.
managed to find a 1.43 voda rom and get spl down to 1.43, hardspl then worked ok, still not sure why my voda spl 1.66 wouldnt take the hardspl

HSPL3 AND ROMS 3.14.831.3 Radio 15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14

i read on some topics that hspl doesn't go well with stock roms 3.14 for example there is a 50mb program memory limit (is it ram or storage limit?), i wanted to get more advice on the matter because i read many opposite info about hspl on the forum, is it safe to use hspl3 to flash 3.14 stock roms? in particular this rom: RUU_Leo_S_HKCSL_WWE_3.14.831.3_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship this was released in december
What a coincidence, I was about to ask the same question, although I'm only using HSPL2.
So, is it ok to install a 3.14 stock ROM with HSPL2/3 still installed? Or do we have to flash back the original SPL first?
Remove HSPL, then if allowed you can install 3.14 ROM. If you are not allowed this ROM, then you need to use the GoldCard method, then install the 3.14 ROM.
Installing 3.14 ROM when HSPL is installed will make you phone prone to be unstable and have have a major reduction in RAM - So don't do it.
Ok thanks for the info fred_up. One other question, after I put the original SPL back, can I flash stock 3.14 over the USB cable? I did that with 1.43 -> 1.66, so I', assuming I can still do that?
ram loss is possible with hspl3 flashing rom 3.14! i had more free ram on my x1
can anyone confirm if the only solutions are the goldcard or flashing the rom for which your device is made??

If you downloaded the 3.14 ROM from HTC with your phone's serial number, then HTC are saying that you are entitled to upgrade to that ROM.

At this moment, if you are not entitled to flash the 3.14 ROM, then the only option is to GoldCard before flashing the 3.14 ROM - remembering to remove HSPL first. Your other options are to run the latest ROM from your Operator or run a custom ROM that isn't based upon the 3.14 ROM.
Is it OK to install a stock 3.14 ROM optop of HSPL via SDCard? Won't this erase HSPL?
can you confirm that using a goldcard automatically erases hspl? i think yes

yes it will erase hspl but becareful because if the rom is not the correct one for your device it will still fail to install BUT hspl will have allowed the spl to update to 3.03.0000 andyou will get exclamation mark screen and phone won't boot. in this case you will only get it working again by flashing an older correct stock rom.

yes, because the spl is updated to 3.03.0000 and
it can only do that by overwriting the spl, and hence hspl is gone.
use sspl
sspl is only any use if you already have a working 3.14 rom on your phone with spl 3.03.0000.
you cant run 3.14 on any other spl, not just hspl, so whilst SSPL would flash the 3.14 rom (for example from a current 1.66 rom) it would still have the memory issue because the spl would return to 1.66.0000 after the first restart, and the memory glitch would be there.

Revert to proper WM6.5

I need to send my HD2 to HTC as it is still under warranty.
I bought in Brussels in January and it was a Dutch version of WinMo. However, I'm running Android since almost the beginning...
How can I know which ROM version I need in order to not run into trouble ?
Thank you !
To find correct stock rom...
HTC.com
Set region Dutch
Support
Choose hd2
Downloads
Filter for rom uodates
Try to download rom using serial.
if it isn't accepted try the next rom in list till one is matched to your serial.
Flash the rom using SD card method.
Or
Flash any Dutch rom over usb using hspl (already installed cos u are on android) then use hspl2 to remove hspl and set matching spl,,, so if u flash 1.43 rom, set spl 1.42.0000, 1.66 or 1.72 set spl 1.66.0000 or for 3.14 rom use Hspl4 to set spl 3.03.0000.

both methods outlined above remove hspl.
So I just need to flash this for instance:
https://rs216l34.rapidshare.com/#!d...200027|R~282C6BE6D0ADF49533A30B4C016BE894|0|0
Then this :
- Take any "RUU_signed.nbh" from a ship ROM and copy it to SD card.
- Rename it to "leoimg.nbh"
- Reset the device while pressing the volume down button.
Correct ?
Don't get stock roms from rapidshare, is my advice, get it from HTC.com,,, you never really know what you're getting.
However, if you wanna use that rom, either
Flash it from USB, and then use hspl2 to set 1.42.0000
Done
Or
Extract from that rom ruu_signed.nbh and use SD method.
You don't need to do both methods.
Problem is that it looks like htc changed its website recently and you can't access any download page for the HD2 anymore (too old I guess). I tried almost every website that could work...heck, the Nederlands/Belgian Dutch website don't even list the HD2 anymore.
The rapidshare link is from the xda Official ROMS thread...
Ah yea, lotta sites lately have been redesigning.
Any idea of the time it could last in Europe ? Sending it back cause the flash is now slightly pushed into the case and messes up with the vibration...
Ah hard to say. Mine went to o2 and was back in six days, others have waited 2,3,4 weeks for returns.
Okay...I except something like 4 weeks at worst so anything lower will be great...
3 to 6 weeks. Oh well...
2 weeks for me..
