I have a car with bluetooth mode (audi a4 b8 mmi ) I connect my Leo with car and everything is ok but when somebody call to me ( i call to somebody ) my leon take screen switch on during connection and this is the problem. I take a call under my car and i don't need touch the screen. Ussualy my leo stay in pants during drive and when i end a call i frequently touch leo screen by my leg and turn on a lot of programs and take a call.
My question is :
Is there any programs to take off ( lock ) the screen during bluetooth connection with handsfree? Or maybe i dont need a programs then say what i do wrong ( some set-up is not correct )
Sorry for my english ;-) ( Take a fun )
use the leather sleeve it came with? I use mine with bt when out on my bike, same problem. the sleeve sorts it out.
I try it.
Thx
no worries. The sleeve feels a bit tight for the first few days, but loosens up quickly. and if you put the phone in top first it lets the buttons and typing area come out without having to take it all teh way off, and the earphone socket doesnt stretch it and make it harder to get out.
is there any new solution for this?

well, i found a solution for this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=488991
i use this cab Touch_InCall_Screen_Tweak v1.2.0.CAB
make sure in Speaker Tab, unselect everything and choose "Do Nothng" otherwise your ringing volume will be very low.
using the leather sleeve is really not a solution at all!,
I have been using the sleeve from day one to protect my Leo, but when Leo is in my jeans pocket the sleeve still has some conductivity so it opens up programs and does all-kind of mischief, its total BS and mayor flaw of this "phone"!
calling in general is so cumbersome that I have ended up using a SE phone for calling and HD2 as a pocetPC. Specially because of the battery issue too - I cant afford to end up with a brick in an ally late at night just because I used navi for an hour that day.
I will try waichai solution, but its really sad that we have to use work-around for these very basic functions

Hi!
I had a Typhoon for a few weeks while my JAM was delayed by Expansys. I finally got the JAM and passed the Typhoon to my wife, who is beginning to hate me.... her new phone answers the incoming calls by itself, just the slightest touch in the joystick, even the pouch pressure while looking for the phone in her purse, answers the call unwilingly. All this happens with the button lock enabled, and the system set to NOT reply with any button.
Any help? Please...

Hi,
the problem is the bad isolation for high frequency wave on the joystick-cable which connects the joystick with the "mainboard". You can fix it with some aluminium foil which will isolate the HF-radioation.
It sounds stupid, but it works fine.
Be aware: you have to isolate the circuit board with some adhesive tape, that it's not short circuit! This bug is known as "menue ghost" -maybe you find a toturial with picture for it.
My phone works fine with it (before it was horrible)
ok this is a bit funny
handsfree earphone works,,,but the ear phone in the mda compact doesnt work
the normal sound speaker works,,just not the phone speaker
ok it works stuttery when i press up on the slide switch and i can hear the caller kinda stuttering
wierd software rpoblem i think
its not hardware problem as the slider makes it work,,if i constantly press up o the slider but then i hear the caller and the beep beep it makes to tell you its at full volume
My qtek s110 is doing the same thing after i dropped it, could i have knocked the contacts?
Can anyone explain why the volume slider would make it work.
Cheers
I think its a hardware prob only! Cz if the volume slider is getting the sound volume increased, you guys still couldnt get the full volume right? If so, its probably the speaker or its contacts getting the problem!

solution for no noise problems
Hey guys and girls, I also had problems with “no noise from the earpiece only.. and were puzzled with the problem for few days….until found the reason behind it.
As I am a lover with high-tech devices, I really wanted to fix this problem by myself (not prepared to pay few hundred dollars for repair from technicians).
I also want to contribute something on this site, as I have read great information’s from this site.
Here it goes.
I had this "no noise issue" problem with one of my device (have 2 sets of o2 mini) had no sound on the earpiece only (meaning speakerphone, hands free mic all works perfectly).
Now, to make everything short, I have done a great research with few personal technicians and even official technician from O2 Company and found the answers for this problem.
The fault actually lies with what is called the "Audio Daughter Board". It is a removable internal PCB that the speaker contacts to receive its audio signal from the phone. The board has a connector that is soldered to it which sits on another connector that is soldered to the main board. Both of these connectors can become removed from their respective solder connections usually as a result of a fall or physical impact. Usually all that is needed is a touch up of the solder points.
This Audio “daughter board” is connected with black connector at right hand side only, and the rest of the board with double sticky tape.
Most likely, the black connector has been disconnected to the “daughter board during drop of the device, as you need to solder the parts back (black connector has 14 legs, 7 on the left and 7 on the right) to get your earpiece sound back to normal.
I have done it, so can you (very small legs, so has to have delicate hands).
Now, mine works like a charm…. So happy…
After all, it was neither the programs, nor the legs of the earpiece, but the actual connection between the boards itself.
Hope my information helped.
Cheers
PS: I have updated my device to 2003 second edition with radio 1.13.00 but have no idea where to get pda programs. Can anyone let me know where to find such good programs?
It works!!!! Thanks
Your a genius
Hi im so happy it worked. I bought even a new speaker but this was noit the problem.
The internal speaker is now working but i found another problem with the ring tone liudness which i have to clarify now. So the serach will start again for me.
Again thanks.
Hi need help from all of u.

You really rock m8.
I was very doubfull that this would work. I have tried everything else people has suggested to no avail.
BUT I thought I have nothing to lose in trying you suggestion.
And it worked. It really worked.
Thank you very much.
Sorry for what am i going to say, maybe i did not get things clear...
How on earth can you solder the black connector both on the main motherboard and on the audio daughter board? Am just asking cause my magician had a broken earpiece and when i open it to replace it the phone died. Strange thing is that when i remove the storage card it comes alive again but no sound from the earpiece. So this solution is great although i had to make the question just to know how to handle things.
Thanks guys
Got it guys, the one connector on the main board was detached completeley and got stuck into the other. That is why i thought that it was one piece.
Man , i said to myself how come these people got it soldered , they must all have personal nano robots lol
Update:
Burned the small black connector tha sits on the main rboard
Any chance for someone to know what sort of PCB is this so i can purchase one?
Firts of anything sorry for my inglish but i´m portuguese and my inglish is a litle rusty.
I known there are a lot of people whith this problem and i had to. I tried a lot of things and i find a solution. The major problem of the this is that the black conector don´t conect very well whith audio bord, and i do a trick, so i thake a litle peace of cotton roll in powertape (like one that is on back of keybord) and a put it as way that when e close it make pressure in de audio border conector(in left of earpiece) agaist de front cover.
I hope I can help

i have the same problem, and i will try to do as instructed. if it succeed everyone have a drink on me
Hello.
I have the same problem ina Qtek s100 but , like I dont know very well how to do look for the hardware piece that you send me the picture file because i cannot download it from XDA, it dont appear. If you send me to [email protected] I will be gratefull.
Thank you
Hi,
Is there anything that can be done to improve the mic volume when on speaker phone - I have had complaints when more than a foot or so away that people can't hear me.
I have the phone open on my desk most of the time and am just trying to work out the best way to deal with calls as they come in. At the moment unplugging the USB and then flipping the screen and then trying to answer the call seems a bit ham fisted and I keep on loosing calls
I personally never use my MDA Pro as a conventional phone. I find it too bulky. My own method is to always use a bluetooth headset.
If I was in your situation, I would have the Universal open on my desk, with the bluetooth headset lying beside it. When the phone rings, simply put on the bluetooth headset, press the call receive button on it, and away you go.
You don't really need to flip the screen, just close it and then use the green button to answer the call. Will work fine with the USB connected if you don't mind people looking at you strangely.
Hi Guys,
Thanks for the responses.
I don't have a headset so haven't gone down that route yet. Will they work with Skype and VOIP software etc on the phone?
As for closing and then picking up, I'm wondering if the phone has a problem because I have tried this a couple of times and have lost the calls although I am generally unplugging the USB, closing the phone and then answering - have only had the phone a couple of days so still getting the hang of it.
Hmmm....can it be used when in pda mode to answer and make calls... I have tried this, but I think either my machine's mic & speakers dont work on the inside (screen side) of the clamshell, the other person on the line can't hear, and I hear their voice (distantly), which means it is coming out of the back of the screen, not the front. Its either that or the device just isnt designed to work in this orientation.
Has anyone else tried recieving or making calls with the screen facing out in portrait mode?
Re the Bluetooth headset answering method, great idea, I do this, but I have found that sometimes my o2 blue headset loses the pairing when I press the answer call button, so I lose the call anyway.
Can anyone tell us how it should work, will the recent rom upgrade fix this, is there even a mic and speaker on the inside lid?

The Mic is right next to the power button, so it is as close to your mouth when in PDA mode or closed. Also There are two speakers on the hinged lid, in PDA mode it's the slightly recessed oval shape 10mm from the top dead centre.
I've never discovered a software method of disabling this speaker. Possibly a hardware fault? Might be worth discussing with your handset provider
I am really close the selling my Tytn, I am finding using it as my main phone just too damned awkward, before i do can anyone recommend any programs that i can install that would give me easier dialing of numbers \ contacts, easier one handed operation etc.
I love the look of the new Treo 750 and how they have modified the today screen to make the thing easy to use, can we not do the same on the Tytn
Cheers
Chris
goodness man..if hitting the contact softbutton with your thumb and selecting a person(done with one hand) is too difficult to do then sell the pos.
do you know you can simply press the call button and select recent calls/speed dial lists with the scroll wheel? (up recent calls / down speed dials)
then simply press the wheel in to call...
doesn't get much easier than that if you ask me!
try this one:
www.mesoftware.biz
it free for 15 days.
best dialing software.
you will find it good for you.
Ok maybe i am being abit lazy on the phone operation intentionally went out without the sylus today and managed ok, but the connection with my parrot car kit is crap. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt sometimes it just switches bluetooth off all together, not good enough, spend more time messing about with my phone while driving some what defeats the purpose to me
I found the Tytn the best phone for single hand use...
But I am still on my UNI... until HTC fixed it's issues..

Are you still running the ROM shipped with the device? Bluetooth issues have been fixed (i think) on the latest imate ROM, my friends BT car kit was rejecting the TyTN but after putting the iMate ROM on it works a treat!
Dont worry about it looking or working any differently if you want any pointers on what to do... gimme a PM.
hey guys my phone was having a slight problem with the ear piece speaker it would work properly but if i shook the phone a little ( such as walking) the sound would disappear , if i turned on the speaker phone the call was stil connected and if i again turned on the regular ear piece it wouldnt work unless i gave it another slight shake
This led me to belive tht the speaker might be slightly out of place and the contact werent touching properly so i ripped open my phone and dove thru its guts to get to the speaker (it was almost the last piece to come out damn it why couldnt it be easier to get out??) n on looking at it the 2 "prongs" that allow it to touch with the contacts on the flexi board were kind smooshed down so i gently pried them up and in the process was able to snap one off right at the base so theres no way to fix it
In short my wizard is an excellent pda now and an ok speaker phone but i still need the ear phone peice.
Im in NYC so if anyone knows where i can get it please help me cuz im getting alotta calls and no way to answer it with out using the speaker phoe which is annoying thanks for the help
