I want to know which software can play avi. on HD2?? - HD2 General

i want to know which software can play avi.on HD2???Help~

Coreplayer and tcpmp.
There are numerous threads about them. Maybe you should search before asking.

AVI is just a container which can contain any kinds of codecs, so it's possible that even coreplayer or tcpmp are not able to play AVI-files.

Yes, its a matter of codecs. Most codecs are provided with the apps i mentioned but you should be aware that some files might not work.

Video Player that works!
I tried 5 or 6 different video player and finally found one! QQPLayer works!

Increase playback codecs

Has anyone managed to find some more codecs for the hd2 / winmo6.5 setup? I love the intergrated / touch ui and would really prefer to keep this solution with the extra codecs (rather than install stand alone 3rd party software).
Thanks
anyone? surely I'm not the only 1 with this issue?
Not possible. This is why apps like Coreplayer exist.
Thanks, in that case what media players are people using that work nicely on the hd2? I want ot be able to play all the "usual" codec movie files but have never found the divx player very good.
Thanks
Post above already answered.
Coreplayer plays everything and then some...

Video player for HD2?

I tried Core media player but the files i'm trying to watch are AC3 audio and so i get the video but no sound. Is there a way to modify core media player to run AC3 audio or is there another player for the HD2 that plays it?
TCPMP can play AC3 with some plugins. Search for it, there are threads exploaining what to install.
I tried both TCPMP and BetaPlayer. Both crash miserably on my HD2
Found this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406905. This version worked for me.

My preferred version of TCPMP is this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3275845&postcount=172
It comes with most plugins already installed.

Problems preparing videos for my HD2

I've read that the most efficient player on the HD2 is the Windows Media Player Mobile, despite the fact that other applications support more video types and whatnots...
If I understood correctly, it's because the WMP uses some sort of hardware acceleration.
(If I'm wrong in any of this, please correct me!)
With this in mind, I wanted to prepare a few videos for my HD2 with the following tools at my disposal:
- Camtasia
- FFDShow
- Anything that's free
So far I was trying out Camtasia with FFDshows encoder, making XVID, DIVX or H.264... almost all of these rendered fine (with the exception of the H.264, which for some reason was not in synch with the audio), and could be played on my computer... however, after copying the files over to my HD2, WMP couldn't play any of them.
So... what can I do to make nice quality video files playable on my HD2?
Try this ...

Just be sure to set the resolution for the HD2

Also, Shaamaan, try coreplayer as it plays the best...

I beg to differ on that ....
It plays More but not better as coreplayer does not yet support hardware acceleration on the HD2, the built in player does ...
Personally I wish they would fix coreplayer, it is a very nice player ...
Also coreplayer is a retail app, so the link you posted is technically Warez, which are not allowed ...
Thanks for the link, watcher64!
EDIT: Albeit I tried it, and the audio was out of synch...
If I may ask a stupid question... what format IS supported by that WMP anyway? I mean, I assumed that at least ONE format generated by the FFDshow codec would work... while all of them failed.
MPEG4 / MP4 I know they work for sure. all the BRrips go str8 in to my TMOUS HTC HD2. not on my laptop now but I saw/have a SD/HD movie converter for this phone will upload for you asap.
Try XMedia Recode
It has a setting for HD2 use, and to be honest, I've copied a couple of Blu-Rays using this, and it is flawless within the HTC Video/Picture tab...
+1 for XMedia Recode. Easiest tool so far.
XMedia-Recode is better then the one I use...time to switch THX
The best player on my HD 2 I ever had, playing almost all formats smooth and brilliant is this one:

[Q] How to play mpeg

Hi,
I have a HD2, and I just realized that I cannot play mpeg movies with the integrated Windows Media Player. I have done some research and I installed TCPMP 0.72RC1 with aac codec, but it does not seem to work.
Can someone explain what I should do to play mpeg movies?
PS: I searched a little more and I found this link.

Both of these versions seem to work, but the buttons "Start, Pause, etc." in the center botton area are not visible... Maybe, it's only me.. Anyway, they work..

you could try this skinnable version, works perfect form me
the Windows Media player included with the phone can play MP3/4 files just fine. Are you sure that you are using the right profile?
I have encoded 300+ movies that I have on DVD and the HD2 plays them just fine with an average bit rate it 2mbps
